Congratulations, you dodged a huge bullet.
Why are you marrying him?
No, you have every right to say no
Neither my wife nor I liked our last names. I was estranged from my father (now dead), and she was estranged from her adopted father (also now dead), and we weren’t interested in continuing either family line, so we found a third name we could accept. I had to go to court before the wedding, and then she took that new name.
Well now he can be with his mom all he likes why say something to the woman you love then change your mind because your mother called you a name utterly ridiculous
Maybe his mom sees something in op ... 🤔 she stated more then once he must comply with her wishes... if a man said that about a woman, we'd tell her to run. In this case, I think he dodged a bullet
@@lynnhobbs9901the hell??
@@Bmo28 what?
@@lynnhobbs9901 you seem dumb or something
I always hated the whole hyphenated last names. That's just me though. I did take my middle name and merged it with my first name and made my maiden name in to my middle name and took my husband's last name. IMO, it was a considerably less tacky.
You don’t have to like your SO family if they are toxic.
She sounds toxic, maybe the mil sees that.
I guess the guy woke up and decided to no longer be a simp. OP has the right to want certain things to come into fruition in regards to her life. As well have those things be deal breakers if not realized. This being said, from how she spoke about her desires, she just wants a yes man. She isn’t ready for marriage any less than the ex. She might even be less ready.
Ummmmmm you dont get engaged to someone who resents your son for existing and doesn't feel any connection to him.
You said he had to agree with you... not that the 2 of you needed to be in agreement... you also said he needed to comply with your wishs... dosen't sound like you are ready to be married anymore than he is.
I sorry that she decides what her name is?
Finally watched it, eh?
Yes, he has. It's her life, her personal documents that would change, nothing changes for him regardless. Why should he have a say in a matter that doesn't inconvenience him regardless of her decision?
