The mother's last apologies is worthless, they've both repeatedly shown op, that when sh't hits the fan, they do not have his back, and the mother actually wanted him to be the one to rollover and let his extended family walk all over him. She uses her words to say one thing and uses her actions to say something completely different. The father saying he has nothing to apologize for is also meaningless, as he sat there and did nothing during the initial confrontation.
Remind aunt that "God" decided to bless *you* with a child, and if he wanted your cousin to have one, then he would gift her with one too, and it is not on your aunt to subvert "God's Will."
