I think wife was expecting you to slowly start having little to do with your daughter and that her son would become your priority and Anna would just disappear. my guess is that she just thought the situation would never come up because, you know, a teenage girl would feel more comfy living with her mother, so she really didnt see it coming when op said that her daughter is coming back so abruptaly

I'm annoyed by all the commenters. Such negativity, and so dramatic. Its compromise, not "my way or high way" in marriage. Those saying such things are judging where it is not their place to judge. Worse, still, is the insistence to leave her. a lot of people believe relationships sould always benefit the person they like the most and should be always perfect, they should be like two jigsaw pieces together or just nothing at all, for a relationship with another human being to work you need to make a choices that might put you on uncomfortable places where either you or your partner are getting more

The reason why they should be your priority is because you helped make the child you don't raise your spouse. That's why when you choose your spouse and you already have a child you tell them on the first date and make it clear your child comes before them and you prove it to your children

There's something off with this story. To many things dont make sense. He back tracts a lot on things he says. I don't know there's just something off about the whole thing. Also, if he gets that hot and bothered that quickly and that intensely I'd stay clear of the guy. Ticking time bomb truly.

Bruh, what? Who said OP didn't use protection? No form of contraceptive is 100%. My daughter is living proof of that, for example. Used a condom _and_ I was on the pill despite having been told by several doctors that it was highly unlikely I'd ever have kids due to an extreme hormone issue. It happened anyway. My little girl is now ten, very healthy and happy.

Nonsense. This has nothing to do with his wife and the new husband of his daughter's mother, because these people came on later in life. Wife knew he had a kid, and the new husband of the ex knew the woman had a kid.
