Honestly, it was so nice to see reactors who actually were visibly moved by this ending. Most seemed surprised or excited but I cried so hard at this ending. And I wasn't sleep deprived. Thank you both!
Loki was afraid to be alone. But he sacrificed himself for his friends and the multiverse. Now he is alone for all time. Always. That's so heavy-hearted...
He's kinda not, though. You figure he can see any of the timelines, AND he can project himself into any of them. So it's more like if The Watcher could intervene. In fact, perhaps it is Loki who gives The Watcher that order.
That's the burden of his glorious purpose. The one thing he said he didn't want, to be alone. It was a fantastic concluding arc for a very deep character. Also the Yggdrasil visual was amazing.
The way you said Yggdrasil when you realized what Loki, the God of Stories dug deep into his roots (pun intended) to find something that would replace the loom: himself, thus creating Yggdrasil and finally fulfilling his glorious purpose, burden and all, and for once a Loki won, but he had to lose everything to get there... Which is interesting because Loki was always the bringer of Ragnarok, but to every end, there's a beginning, we die with the dying, we live with the dead.
What's also interesting is if you google Loki's first ever appearance in Marvel Comics you'll see he's first introduced literally trapped in the middle of a tree for eons. Quite the little easter egg.
Losing everything, sometimes even one's life to sacrifice for the greater good, is the fate of a true hero. Loki was probably one of the best examples of this in the MCU (No disrespect to Tony's sacrifice for one universe) and it's just so tragically beautiful.
I didn’t realize until someone else commented that destroying the Loom and causing the death of the timelines *was* Ragnarok, then his enchantment of those same timelines to bring them back to life and take the throne while literally holding them together was the renewal following Ragnarok that created the Tree of Life…so beautiful. And I have no doubt that this storyline was influenced by how dedicated Tom Hiddleston was to the lore of Loki. What a master of his craft.
What a great reaction to an unforgettable series finale! 17:28 - I knew you were going to be the ones who will say "Yggdrasil" as soon as it appears, and get the whole meaning of it. What a journey for this Loki and for all of us who witnessed him finaly founding his purpose, even more glorious than what he could have ever imagined.
I was waiting for their response to seeing Yggdrasil as well. Just way the name was whispered was just fantastic since it was my reaction seeing it too.
@@KanpuriyeWell, I'd say that I expected them to recognise the tree because Kat and Sonny are Danish. And Denmark, alongside with Norway and Sweden were the birthplace of Viking culture. @@yuliiastorozhylova5479 Ahh yes, I thought so when I started watching them but never poured my thoughts deeper into that, with your comment that bell rang again and this time I could verify too 😁. Thanks ✌️
I loved that in the first Thor, before he falls off the Bifrost, he says “I could have done it, Father. For you, for all of us" but for the wrong reasons, he just thinks "im a god, its my birthright, im super smart I could have done it" but with no understanding of what it truly means to be a god and have that power. And he falls off the end of the broken bridge into the abyss. This time he says "I know what kind of god I need to be. For you. For all of us" because he finally understands the burden of glory, and that he has to choose to be more than he is. And he willingly steps off the end of a broken bridge...and keeps walking. The first time, he let go of the staff, the only thing keeping him connected to his family and home, and he falls into nothingness. This time he holds on for his family and his home, and ascends to his throne. I think its why the bridge resembled the Bifrost, so they could parallel that scene and bring it full circle. And that's just incredible.
Even the response to those statements were copied. The first was Odin "no, Loki" and he said it like an adult dealing with a petulant child who wants to take something, not give it. The second: Mobius "No!" Immediately followed by sylvie "Loki!" They said it as people who care about Loki, knowing he is about to sacrifice himself. He's about to give something, not take. It's perfect. The creators of the show truly cared about telling Lokis story. It's amazing.
Tom Hiddleston said in an interview that they were having trouble figuring out what Loki's last lines should be. That day,, he went out on a run around the entire studio lot listening to the soundtracks from the series and the Thor film. And then he suddenly knew what Loki needed to say to Mobius and Sylvie at the end. He rushed back in and met with the writer and said, "I got it" and right then and there, he said the lines in front of them and the writers said, "That's it." So the lines actually came from Hiddleston channeling Loki himself.
Indeed this was all life teachings for Loki since the start. If you think about it, even Thor in Ragnarok told Loki before leaving back to Asgard "You'll always be the God of Mischief, but you could be more." meaning that Thor knew he had potential to be something even greater if he decided to change while not knowing he was going to be the real savior of the universes and space. As Loki said in the ship "You're savior is here" He didn't even know he was going to be much much more than that.
I'm so glad somebody on TH-cam had a genuine reaction to this episode. Everyone is just surprised or excited or says something like, "Wow, that was intense. That was crazy." But no one actually felt the weight of these events, no one realized how deep and beautiful and tragic this was. It's good to know I wasn't the only one who cried while watching this. I'm definitely subscribing to you guys. 💙
I havent seen Kat cry like this in a while. I can totally understand if its bcs she resonates with Mobius' words. Resonate with the journey of these characters. The depth of burden.
Loki has one of the greatest character arcs of all time. He started the show as a god who wanted to rule everyone and everything in the universe for selfish reasons, to a god who selflessly watches over and protects the MULTIVERSE, in isolation, from a throne outside of time and space. Mobius told him that he needed to choose which burden he could live with to fulfill his purpose, and as heavy as it was, this was the only choice in which all of his friends and family as well as all of the people of the multiverse would be saved. He is a true hero now. My heart absolutely breaks that this Loki is now and possibly always will be alone, but at least he can watch over everyone he cares for from afar. ALL HAIL LOKI, THE GOD OF STORIES!!!! And I’m really gonna miss watching your reactions to this amazing show. I’d love to see you react to Ms. Marvel though!
By far my favorite reaction to this episode. They viewed and reacted to this the same way I did. I also love that Kat pronounced Yggdrasil correctly and recognized that's what it was.
I cried my eyes out when I watched it too. What an amazing character and redemption arc for Loki. Tom Hiddleston knocked it out of the park as Loki. I’m going to miss this show!
I love this ending even though it's so bittersweet. Loki's Glorious Purpose has finally has arrived with Loki realizing he can replace the branch-killing Loom, and therefore the Sacred Timeline, with something better: himself. Loki takes He Who Remains place at the End of Time but Loki also becomes the God of Stories according to the MCU wiki and most interpretations. If he is the God of Stories for the MCU then the MCU would be changing the meaning of the God of Stories from the comics but they have changed big things before. I also love how the new natural Loom is in the shape of Yggdrasil. When Loki locks Mobius and Sylvie out and tearfully says goodbye to them, he says the same last words he said to Odin right before falling off the Bifrost Bridge and seemingly dying: “I could have done it, father. For you! For all of us!”. Loki's purpose is a glorious one, but the burden is completely heavy, where he is completely alone, unable to be with his loved ones ever again. Still Loki gets watch over them from countless timelines. Yggdrasil, also known as the Tree of the World or the World's Tree, is a concept used by the Asgardians to describe the cosmic nebula, with each branch or root representing one of the Nine Realms but this new Yggdrasil is not just for the Nine Realms but for the entire multiverse.
This is the kind of writing and performance we've been missing from the MCU for quite some time (GoTG3 doesn't count since it was Gunn's opus on the way out). I'm hoping Feige is taking notes here and seeing what people are actually responding well to.
I have seen the episode, and many reactions, yet I cried with Kat at the end. I totally felt it watching it myself. Also it seems no one noticed, Loki cried a tear at the end. He got his glorious purpose, but he is alone. I hope this Loki will re-reunite with thor.
I felt the same as you both. What a poetic and bittersweet ending for this character. Haven't pondered over an MCU property this much since Infinity War.
Natalie Holt. I was excited when I heard she would also score Season 2, and she did not disappoint. Quantity and quality. I hope she gets to score other MCU projects.
This finale was her masterpiece. This is the first comment I’ve seen on any channel talking about how incredible her score was. Just unbelievable. I’m still anxiously waiting for the OST to drop on Spotify
Yeah, the first time through is beautiful, but if you watch some of the deep dives online it gets even better. Loki's last line before stepping out the door, is the same line he gave to Thor and Odin at the end of the first Thor movie before he dropped into the void. His emphatic shout about not wanting a throne plus He Who Remains crack about "I made the tough choices so I get the big chair" plus that stuff from episode 1 is such a beautiful combination as well. Every rewatch has held up or added more little angles. Thanks for the video!
Loki is now undoubtedly one of the best and favorite MCU characters IMO. What a freaking arc! I rate this series/season #2 after WandaVision. I didn’t 100% understand it all 😂 but absolutely enjoyed it
I really like the message this ending lends to real life. In a world so plagued by "if i dont tell someone about it did it really happen" this does a great job at highlighting the beauty of burden without glory.
Masterpiece of a finale! Season 2 of this show ended up exceeding my expectations by a country mile. It's without a doubt my favorite MCU tv show of all-time. Loki's selfless act at the end was both beautiful and heartbreaking.
I liked your comments about the great music in this finale, and throughout the entire series. Natalie Holt is extremely talented. I can't think of any music from the other Marvel series I'd like to hear again, but that last 20 minutes of this episode, including the credits, is epic.
The music across the series is so unique and brilliant but she really outdid herself this episode, so so emotional and powerful. Really elevates the scenes. I'm glad they gave her the freedom to be creative and do what she felt was needed.
I’m so glad I’m not the only one that cried throughout the ending. I’ve seen so many reactions and you’re the only one that I’ve seen so far cry. I love Loki :(
It's poignant to consider the fact that the throne he always wanted, he only got when he didn't want it anymore. That sacrifice shows just how far Loki has grown over these 2 seasons.
I assume and hope we see this Loki version again but if we don’t , what a send off for him. Beautiful, tragic and poetic. And the score was amazing this episode.
Finally a reaction with tears for this episode!! Gosh I was sobbing!! I’m so glad you guys felt the weight of this, there’s a lot of other channels who were just hyped and excited much more than actually feeling the pain and loss and sacrifice. Subbed! My reactions to season 2 are going up on my channel soon if anyone is interested 💜
I also cried.....not just because of his sacrifices but most saddest part is he is all alone again that made me cry so much...I personally liked him no Matter what...and I also like him as a villain and as a hero
Hello. I hope you don't mind that I'm wanting to appreciate your beautiful Loki 2x6 reaction. I was very recently diagnosed with a brain tumor and have been, as you might imagine, rather anxious about the surgery. But watching this reaction, one of the few I've wanted to watch due to how I thought you would edit, discuss and especially respond to this episode, has been truly beautiful. It felt reverent and serene and awestricken and ... everything I hoped your episode would be. So thank you, if that's okay to say. It has brought me some calm and peace.
I had tears as well for Loki. He indeed was burdened with glorious purpose, Loki is the best written character man. To be a hated villain to being so selfless & becoming Yggdrasil is one of the best character arcs ever. The sad part is he's alone now, however I don't think this will be the last time we see the god of stories 😢
When I saw that he'd woven the timelines into Yggdrasil it hit me basically how it looked like it hit Kat. Loved this reaction. Thank you both for what you do here.
These are the reactions of some true fans of this wonderful series. I cried again watching their reactions and remembering this ending again... You have gained a new subscriber! 💚
Loki running through the process at the start over and over again feels like me playing a Dark Souls game. By the end I've got the entire thing memorised.
Loki’s “glorious purpose “ turned out to be completely different from what he originally thought. But with his character development, the character growth this seems just right for him. I didn’t know anything about the comics Loki becoming the god of stories, so this was a good surprise. He re-energized the timelines that he saved and have some amount of control over them but not what people are speculating or think. He does still have his limits, but that will be probably covered in some future Marvel projects since it’s been said that he will have a part in the upcoming Secret Wars and is to reunited with Thor however briefly. This was so emotional but so well done. This series proves what can be done when there is a focus on quality storytelling.
I love the detail in the moment loki returns to the tva one final time, as the camera remains on him, the voice repeats "welcome back, he who remains". Its a nice creative touch. Also, I too cried at this final 😭
Pretty interesting that two shows you follow, both heavily inspired by Norse Mythology ended on the same week. Both with timey-wimey elements, and an imagery of Yggdrasil in their ending scenes.
Seems like Kat and I, like many others, realized what Loki was doing, but interestingly, it didn't register with most reactors until after the scene unfolded. Personally, the theme of self-sacrifice always resonates with me, and when portrayed effectively, as in this, it evokes a profound sense of pure respect for the action itself.
You two finally gave me my conclusion to this series with this video, thanks for the 6 awesome reviews and making it a better experience. Don’t know what the next show is but im looking forward to it. Hope the kiddo is feeling better
Loki the greatest Avenger and the person holding all our realities together. What an ending. The most significant thing Marvel has ever done IMO. Goes to show if they hire writers and build smaller stories they can still work miracles. Hiddleston may have spent a significant portion of his life making these films but he joined the ranks of the most important sci-fi characters of all time with this arc and ending.
Your the only reactors who got Yggdrasil immediately, Which made it more of an emotional impact, Also what a final episode, and that Score, Beautiful, thank you.
Loki, like Atlus, has the world on his back. His burden is for eternity and only a few select people know of his sacrifice. He sits on his throne watching all the timelines and he is alone. His greatest fear and his burden to bear. I cried like Kat when I saw his walk to the loom, it felt right. Loki traversing the timeline and talking to his friends.... it was him getting closure and saying goodbye before his departure. He earned his throne.
That conversation between Mobius and Loki at the end was top tier and then to bring us a perfect ending, Loki becoming a multiversal Yggdrasil was just 🤌🤌🤌
This has been the best from mcu for me, I think the kid mobius was supposed to prune but couldn't was kid loki at the end of time. I also feel the gold appearing in his throne was almost like odin was giving him his approval The line loki used before going out to the loom were his own. He chose them as a throw back to the first thor when he tells odin I could of been great for all of us. His producers asked him to think of something to say before the doors opened. Mobius and Sylvie didn't know what he would say until in the moment making their reaction truly authentic
See? This is what i meant before, every other group got their reaction up the first day, it was nice and all, but it got over quick, but then a week later i see this and it makes me so happy to relive this episode again with you guys, its completly ok if you cant upload it immediately, we're still here for you (and ourselves 😅)
If you notice in the scene when Mobius went home, the audio was rustling of branches and the shots were framed in trees. They had put him in Loki's tree of life through audio and visuals. Others have stated a theory that Mobius stood there to spend time in time, because, it let him feel closer to Loki again.
Loki quite literally saved the MCU. The God of Stories Loki is one of the best and I'm so glad people have come to love him. Tom Hiddelston deserves all the awards for this season!
You know MCU has always really portrayed Gods as just being very strong or muscular. This was the first time it felt like we saw an actual God and the extent of their power. Beyond a fist fight or a purple alien. Loki is always plagued by his weakness and foibles and that hinder his true power. Sylvie and Classic Loki showed us what a Loki with conviction is capable of but our Loki showed us what a God is truly capable of in this multiverse.
He who remains could on manage existence thru technology so his ability was limited because he was a man. Loki was a God so he could work outside the box.
Felt the same way you guys did, it's a bittersweet ending, I loved it but at the same time I wished for Loki to live happily with them (he is, in a way, since he can see/hear them through the branches). Btw, never worry about being stylish or whatever for reactions, they are meant to be like watching stuff along with friends at home , that's at least how I feel (re)watching it with you guys :)
That "for you, for all of us" goes sooooooo far back. He actually said that to Odin, hanging of the rainbowbridge, right before he "died" in the first thor movie.
People are calling Loki the God of Stories because that is what happened in the comics. But that was very different. Here he has clearly become the God of Time. He has finally accepted the burden of his glorious purpose.
Both Stark and Loki had their final lines of their first movies(Iron man and thor) being the same line in their final appearance "I am Iron Man" & "For you, for all of us.."
loki chose to be alone, for eternity, becoming the new he who remains, no even beyond that, god of stories, god of timeline, god of multiverse, he holds the infinite timelines/multiverse on his hand and joined them back together, which mean he will watch over and protect the multiverse in each timeline which is infinite and you dont want me to get started on the marvel cosmology
Me and my (Icelandic) gf were absolutely floored by Loki grafting all the timelines into Yggdrasil. Loki, true to his mythos, enacted true Ragnarok and built it anew. Just beautiful
When they call up Miss Minutes at the end: (Wakes up) "Hi" (introduces herself expecting a question or conversation of some kind.) (People just look at her and start talking amongst themselves about her as if she isn't in the room.) Well if she didn't want to kill you all before, she definitely does _now._

This is the kind of writing and performance we've been missing from the MCU for quite some time (GoTG3 doesn't count since it was Gunn's opus on the way out). I'm hoping Feige is taking notes here and seeing what people are actually responding well to.
He has. The people working on this show has been hired for many Marvel projects such as Daredevil and Secret Wars (iirc)
Seeing Loki walking while holding the threads of Time, becoming the God of Stories, gave me chills. Like I was witnessing something truly ethereal.
I'm so happy to see Scandinavian TH-camrs react to this episode!! Yggdrasil 🌲
I liked your comments about the great music in this finale, and throughout the entire series. Natalie Holt is extremely talented. I can't think of any music from the other Marvel series I'd like to hear again, but that last 20 minutes of this episode, including the credits, is epic.
Even the very beginning of this episode. The score over the marvel logo. It’s a start to finish masterpiece
I love Loki :(
I love the ending, both tragic and triumphant at the same time.
It's poignant to consider the fact that the throne he always wanted, he only got when he didn't want it anymore. That sacrifice shows just how far Loki has grown over these 2 seasons.
Seeing the Tree of Life was just amazing. So beautiful and perfect.
So much for Kat being too tired to feel anything 🤣🤣🤣 it was a really really great episode
I don't care what's going on with Johnathan Majors' personal life; this man can ACT!
I assume and hope we see this Loki version again but if we don’t , what a send off for him. Beautiful, tragic and poetic.
And the score was amazing this episode.
With Loki at the center, the loom is a tree that is capable of infinite growth and the TVA now knows its purpose and is staffed by volunteers.
The best disney plus series I have seen . I couldnt stop crying. absolutely fantastic!!
Absolutely legendary ending to a legendary show. Easily the greatest character arc in the MCU.
I also cried.....not just because of his sacrifices but most saddest part is he is all alone again that made me cry so much...I personally liked him no Matter what...and I also like him as a villain and as a hero
Been waiting for this reaction.. Such a good finale
Love you guys. Glad we finally got to enjoy your reaction to this one. Lots of fun as always.
Great ending. Wild ride with a fitting ending.
Great sweatshirt too!
LOVE THE PEARL JAM SWEATER!!! u guys are one of my favorite reactors so genuine ❤
From the moment Loki starts making his way to the gangplank after that sad look at his friends, I was crying the whole rest of the episode!
Thank you for sharing ❤️
I had tears as well for Loki. He indeed was burdened with glorious purpose, Loki is the best written character man. To be a hated villain to being so selfless & becoming Yggdrasil is one of the best character arcs ever. The sad part is he's alone now, however I don't think this will be the last time we see the god of stories 😢
This Show became some of my Favorite Marvel stuff out here. Loved your reaction, I also cried myself like it was raining
It was such a beautiful episode. Poor Loki is all alone =[
When I saw that he'd woven the timelines into Yggdrasil it hit me basically how it looked like it hit Kat.
Loved this reaction.
Thank you both for what you do here.
The finale was brilliant! But a sadness stayed with me for a few hours afterward.
I'm glad you enjoyed the finale! To me Loki is the best MCU adjacent show, hands down.
I really wanted to see Norse people react to this.
I have been waiting for this reaction.
Finally reactors who were as moved as my husband and I were. Just phenomenal acting/story/music/conclusion. Mind blown!
I’m glad that I’m not the only one who cried while watching the finale. I’m just so proud of how far Loki has come and how much he has grown!!
These are the reactions of some true fans of this wonderful series. I cried again watching their reactions and remembering this ending again... You have gained a new subscriber! 💚
Loki’s deeply conflicted facial expression at the end is everything.
Who would have tought that loki is gona become from a villan in the mcu into the greatest superheroes of all time
The redemption saga of Loki is one of the best sagas ever produced. Amazing.
I'm so glad someone instantly recognised Yggdrasil. 17:29
The man who didnt want to be alone gave himself the throne of solidarity to protect the multiverse as the God of Stories.
Your the only reactors who got Yggdrasil immediately, Which made it more of an emotional impact, Also what a final episode, and that Score, Beautiful, thank you.
I have seen a few who immediately said “Yggdrasil” when they saw the tree.
This finale moved me so much. I dont blame you crying. Loki by far had the best character development and arc.
He's a fast learner, and he is a god. People keep forgetting about that last part.
I also feel the gold appearing in his throne was almost like odin was giving him his approval
The line loki used before going out to the loom were his own. He chose them as a throw back to the first thor when he tells odin I could of been great for all of us. His producers asked him to think of something to say before the doors opened. Mobius and Sylvie didn't know what he would say until in the moment making their reaction truly authentic
Have to say, hat's off to you two.
You guys didn't miss a bit.
Very refreshing
One of the best, most epic and satisfying endings to a TV show ever.
17:30 Yggdrasil! the most important line of 2023!
I am absolutely obsession with this finale. I seen it the day it came out and almost every TH-cam video about it since lol
Love Loki's character development such a great story man
Loki quite literally saved the MCU.
"Pumpkins" was basically a way to say "Well done" to yourself in the 19th century.
I love the fact that when we finally loose the Amazing Hans Zimmer that his legacy with his underlings is STRONG!
LOKI'S MAGIC IS THE REASON THE TIME STONE IS GREEN, AS HIS MAGIC IS GREEN AND HIS MAGIC IS WHAT IS CREATING AND HOLDING TIME TOGETHER.
Seems like this month is the month of protagonists sacrificing themselves for their friends. First it was Eren Jaeger and now Loki.
The roots reach all the way to the past as well as the future. That means Loki has always been Yggdrasill.
Both Stark and Loki had their final lines of their first movies(Iron man and thor) being the same line in their final appearance "I am Iron Man" & "For you, for all of us.."
Wow, you're right --- cool.
And they both made the biggest sacrifices or any character in Marvel. Tony saved half of the universe and Loki saved the entire multiverse. ☺️
loki chose to be alone, for eternity, becoming the new he who remains, no even beyond that, god of stories, god of timeline, god of multiverse, he holds the infinite timelines/multiverse on his hand and joined them back together, which mean he will watch over and protect the multiverse in each timeline which is infinite
and you dont want me to get started on the marvel cosmology
Me and my (Icelandic) gf were absolutely floored by Loki grafting all the timelines into Yggdrasil. Loki, true to his mythos, enacted true Ragnarok and built it anew. Just beautiful
When they call up Miss Minutes at the end:
(Wakes up) "Hi" (introduces herself expecting a question or conversation of some kind.)
(People just look at her and start talking amongst themselves about her as if she isn't in the room.)
Well if she didn't want to kill you all before, she definitely does _now._
