Due to the numbers of small perch I went to the dropshot on this night. We tried real worms and soft plastics which produced a lot of perch. ( www.agmdiscountfishing.co.uk)

I’m very new to fishing, just wanted to asked you for some advice on legal requirements to fish in fresh water, like the canal and rivers? I got rod license. Do I need anything else, such as wanders permit ? Thank you

Hi Gulam. Once you have a rod licence you can go fishing. BUT when fishing the canal you need to be aware of which fishing club runs that section of the canal and you will need to buy a day ticket which is usual available on the bank when fishing. A wanders permit is for canal sections that are not run by a fishing club. It may be worth searching the Internet for your local fishing club, it will open up waters, help and advice.
