I’ve made some spoons slash lures in my spare time at work out of 15 mm an 28 mm copper pipe flattened an shaped an drilled to get swivel an hook on. Obviously haven’t tried them yet but most of my pike where I live love a copper or brass spoon or lure so I’m very confident they will work.
i've just a quick question, what equipment are you using (rod and reel wise)? I was thinking of getting into canal fishing to change it up rather than just course fishing.

Try drop shotting lobworms. I go dropshotting on the canal with a seven metre whip, 10lb mono, and an elasticated top. Half a lobworm or a 2 inch rubber shad, bounced slowly across the bottom is deadly. And I reckon you can cover a lot more ground than a short rod. Presentation is excellent, and I've banked loads of nice Perch like that. Get some funny looks though.

Great video again, i work in construction, been told to go to work as normal, on sites where ent got a clue who most of the people are, but the government said we cannot go fishing, must be the most isolated thing to do, never really see people, apart from other anglers.i no its for the good of others with whats going on, just does not make any sense
I want to see where the gov said that,it has not,just people If you find a body of water that the owners dont forbid fishing you can fish.
It is a bit daft. You can go shopping in a supermarket full of people, but can't walk down a canal with a rod. Makes no sense, but do they ever?

hi even though you caught plenty on the worm ,i would of been tempted to snip the tip off the tail of the worm to add a scent. and when we can get back out on the bank im going to have to get myself one of those LRF type rod set ups
Yea probably would've hooked up to more fish as well to be fair. Lost more than i caught ripping my worms in half

Please always wet your hands before handling any fish. It's important to not damage the protective layer of glycoprotein slime that fish have to protect themselves from infection.
Perch dont have slime but pike do:)

It's a small light rod, perfect on creeks ans small rivers :)

Have you tried fluorocarbon straight through? Or fine braid to fluorocarbon leader?
Ive used fluorocarbon straight through,as braid is banned at my local club water. Its a compromise.

Funny coz I always do this aswell you catch you stick and for some reason autopilot kicks in a you throw it back in the water to catch another day lol
My current rod is 3-30gr. Would u recommend an ultra light in addition or is it unecessary?

Your lucky, us poor bestards in Rstralia aren't even allowed to go fishing in some states, even in remote place. Yet there are people crowding the supermarkets - none of it makes sense, i can see the point but if you go fishing by yourself, there is no other human contact unless the seagull has C/V and drops a turd on your head!

You might want to stray away from Berkley rods, they're honestly just cheap shit imo, with a tiny twitch the rod tip is going everywhere, it might bend nicely, but trust me, once you start looking into some better rods you will feel alot of difference
stop chucking them in like they are nothing be gentle on the return

Small strip of bacon skin andcfat works and it stays on longer , oil and salt scent water ,
Oh and get out and fish people , stop hiding under your school desks like children in 60s , if you think fresh air is bad , it's wasted on you
I'm gutted that we can't do a bit of mobile canal lure fishing, that let's face it does include a lot of walking, as part of our once daily permissible exercise during the lock down, just as long as we stick to the government guidelines on social distancing etc. I can walk my dog down the tow path for exercise, but as a result of the ban on all recreational fishing I can't take my rod along with me, gutted. I just hope that people such as Allan at Agm Products online don't go out of business as a result of the ban, with people thinking what's the point in buying any lure fishing supplies if I'm not gonna be able to get out.
U can't fish at the moment anyway, the fishing season ended a couple of weeks ago and starts again in June
@@silverside8 there is no close season on the canal you can fish all year round on most if not all UK canals
Some good points mate and we all are itching to get out but if the government said it's ok to go fishing everyone would go fishing well use it as an excuse anyway! One consolation is when we are allowed to get out fishing again it will be like 16th June everywhere and I bet the fishing will be insane! As for the tackle industry suffering I usually buy more gear when I'm not fishing much as a sort of compensation to myself 😂🎣👍
Fishing with no landing net, really! travelling light is no excuse and hauling fish out of the water the size of that chub and pike you caught without one is not on, especially chub who have softer more delicate mouths. Obviously a landing net is not required when catching small fish that just weigh a few ounces but for larger fish a net should always be used.
No landing net, come on, fishing a canal is no excuse for not having one with you. Very irresponsible of you.
