  • Get The Ultimate Ninja Creami Experience with Kathy Hester for more whole food plant-based recipes, videos, how-tos, tips, troubleshooting, and more! Read all the details here: kathyhester.th...
    It combines tons of videos, an ebook with over 30 recipes plus color photos for each, with 2 live events thrown in for good measure!
    You know I love my Ninja Creami and if you just got yours, this is the perfect recipe to start with. All you need is some ripe bananas, some vanilla, and possibly a splash of your favorite non-dairy milk.
    If you haven't heard about nice cream before, it tastes just like banana ice cream but it has no fat or added sugar (unless you use bananas that aren't ripe enough).
    If your bananas are not ripe enough, you can add in some date syrup or maple syrup. How will you know? Taste it before you freeze it! This is a rule for using the Creami Ice Cream Maker.
    You don't even need to blend this - just mash the bananas in your Ninja Creami pint with the vanilla and mix in enough non-dairy milk to reach the max fill line.
    Freeze 24 hours on a flat surface, then spin on the smoothie or ice cream setting.

    Based on this banana recipe and your pineapple recipe, I made my first plant-based ice cream and loved it.
    Piña Colada Ice Cream (no dairy)
    1 can coconut cream (unsweetened) (13.6 oz)
    1 can coconut milk (13.5 oz)
    1 can sweetened condensed coconut milk (13.5 oz)
    1 can Dole crushed pineapple in pineapple juice (20 oz)
    4 Tbs sweetened coconut flakes
    1 Tbs spiced rum
    1/2 tsp vanilla extract
    1/4 tsp rum extract
    1/4 tsp coconut extract
    1 banana (chunks)
    Blend ingredients in blender (I used a 72oz Ninja blender)
    Makes 4 pints

    You would be a fantastic School teacher! You don’t miss anything. Great video! Have you heard of the “Yonanas”? It makes ice cream out of bananas too. I love to toss warm toasted almond slices on my banana “ice cream”. So yummy! You really feel like you’re doin something wrong😎haha! I made four batches of strawberry creami ice cream today. I have to heat the berries up before I add them because lectins hate me. Wow, did they make some sweet treats. Also, I used to drink organic almond milk before I found out they add preservatives before they package at a separate facility. It was giving me horrible migraines. Just a heads up for anybody out there per chance in the same boat. Definitely going to watch more of your vids. 👍

      You really could use smoothie, ice cream, or sorbet. Because bananas make for a softer mixture than other fruits. I usually err on the side of caution and spin on sorbet or light ice cream if I'm not sure, and smoothie if there's a lot of banana.

      What part of the job do you feel it didn't do? I like it better than a blender because I don't have to add extra nondairy milk and make it too soft, and it's easier to clean than my food processor and I can process less - even 1/2 a pint.

    I don't have a button that says smoothie bowl, my settings are ice cream, lite ice cream, sorbet, gelato, frozen yogurt, creami italian ice, and then the drinkable side is creamiccino, frozen drinks, slushi and milkshake. So which button did you use. Thank you for your help.

    I have already frozen whole bananas. Can I just dice them, toss them into the creami and make ice cream, or do I need to thaw, mash, freeze and creamify?

    • @KathyHesterVeganRecipes
      @KathyHesterVeganRecipes  ปีที่แล้ว

      The Creami isn't a blender, instead, it finely shaves the mixture, so it needs to be a frozen solid block.
      Because of that I'd at least half thaw them and make sure the pint is packed before you freeze. Once frozen solid you can spin it.

    Hi Kathy, love your attention to detail so I need to ask a question about the Ninja Creami 7 in one ice cream maker. I've been trying to buy more pints and lids but it almost seems impossible. There are a lot of off brands that do not fit but say they do. Ninja brands are always on back order or asking $45 for 2 of the pints? Is there anything you know about this problem? Thank you :)

      I do not, but you can freeze the mixture in ice cube trays and let thaw 10 minutes, then blend in a high speed blender. It's not a perfect sub, but close enough.

      But also it's pretty easy after you've done it once or twice. Mostly it's blending then putting into a pint to freeze, then putting it in the machine. I'm here if you have questions about it or anything else.

    • @KathyHesterVeganRecipes
      @KathyHesterVeganRecipes  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You want to spin it right before you eat it for the best possible texture. You can eat part, refreeze the pint and spin another day. If you make a high fat recipe, you may be able to store it like regular ice cream, but honestly, it takes 2 - 3 minutes to spin.

      So I tried it this Saturday. Spined on Friday night and then put it into freezer. On Saturday, I Had to wait a bit, 10 -15 minutes after taking it from the freezer, and it was pretty good. I disagree with that with whole food plant based recipes in particular. We are using no oil, and often dates as sweeteners. That makes the mix freeze much harder than traditional recipes with fat and refined sugar.

      Probably, but most banana nice cream recipes include vanilla and non-dairy milk. I have not tried it, so I can't say how the machine will do, but I expect it to be powdery, and you'd need to respin with some nondairy milk to make it creamy.
