Thank you for your videos. Based on your pineapple recipe and your banana recipe, I made my first plant-based ice cream and loved it. Piña Colada Ice Cream (no dairy) 1 can coconut cream (unsweetened) (13.6 oz) 1 can coconut milk (13.5 oz) 1 can sweetened condensed coconut milk (13.5 oz) 1 can Dole crushed pineapple in pineapple juice (20 oz) 4 Tbs sweetened coconut flakes 1 Tbs spiced rum 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 1/4 tsp rum extract 1/4 tsp coconut extract 1 banana (chunks) Blend ingredients in blender (I used a 72oz Ninja blender) Makes 4 pints
Yes!! You are a great teacher! You should get paid from the company!👍I got my pinapple and my creamie ready to go! Can’t wait. You didn’t use the coconut milk I may use a little of both milks 👍❤️
Honestly, I do. If you like scoopable ice cream over soft serve it's a big improvement. I also like that I can prep several of the pints at the beginning of the week and just spin when I want a treat.
@@KathyHesterVeganRecipes Thanks so much! I knew you would have an opinion on this. I'm curious if you have done recipes that include both fruit and vegetables.Thinking of buying one for my 86 y.o. diabetic mom who is on a WFPB diet and largely needs to eat veg with her fruit for her blood sugar.
You don’t need to scrape that tiny humps at all. Only if the hump is like half an inch big, even then, my machine handles the small humps just fine as the blade is set to wobble a tiny bit
Any research been done on microplastics ending up in the ice cream after the spin. I imagine some high speed friction scratching off some plastic from inner wall of container. Let me know if you have info. Thanks
There is no friction between the blade and the plastic sides. That's why a thin "ice wall" forms inside the container, because the blade is designed not to reach the sides of the pint. The only time you will end up with plastic in your ice-cream is if you throw the blade off course by spinning non-level ice-cream.
Found your video and tried your recipe . Thank you so much. Your demo was wonderful, since we just got our machine. Can you make some more videos of your Favorites?
Hi Kathy, saw you on Chef AJ. enjoyed the show a lot. What is the best nut milk to use for this? I do not want to use canned coconut milk, the one that is canned full fat but would be ok with coconut milk unsweetened. I asked to join the private group on FB also. Not in yet. :( Thank you for your videos and info and also thanks to Chef AJ for all you do.
You might want to purchase the new Creami Deluxe with 1.5 times the capacity if you’re feeding a large family. But, if/when the original goes on sale, as I strongly suspect, you can make two pints and have multiple flavors. Either way, you can’t go wrong. It’s a time, money and health boon!
@@veganseatyummyfoodtoo worth purchasing the extra pints off Amazon for family. We've got family of 6 and typically will spin up 2 pints. We try to stick to 2 scoop servings, generally don't consume both pints.
Looks amazing! How would you compare this appliance to another blender appliance like the Ninja Nutri blender or other blender? Would the "ice cream" come out less creamy in the other types of blenders?
great video i love walt disney dole whip! and want to make it with fresh pineapple and not that can pineapple stuff. Found you from watching chef AJ. Is the ninja creami 10 times better than if I were to use the vitamix or blendtec? because this vitamix reviewer said the vitamix does the same thing as the ninja creami.
While Vitamix is a heck of a blender, there is no way it does what the the Creami does. The blade is always at the bottom. There'd be no way to get the same result. I have the former. For smoothies and whole fruit fruit juices, it's great. It would work well in concert with the Creami actually. Use it to process the fruit and then freeze in a Creami container to end up with sorbet or gellato. That said, the Creami is a one trick appliance. It power shaves a frozen block of whatever is in the container to a smooth consistency. That's it. There are kitchen appliances far higher on my list than a Creami though I expect I'd use one if I had it.
I tried leaving the lid off to initially freeze & lightly covered with wax paper. It eliminated the bump in center😉
Thank you for your videos.

Mind blown! I was literally Googling this and YOU came up!💜

Excellent vidéo. This should have 100,00 or more views. Very well done and thorough.
Thank you so much!
I kept telling myself that I did not need another kitchen gadget, but after watching this video (and a few others on You Tube) I have to purchase one!
I was looking for Creami recipes and this is the first video I found. And the fact that it's plant based is even better. Thank you for sharing!
this is awesome, so helpful and looks delicious!! ty kathy!!
You are welcome!
Thank you. Your video was very thorough and informative!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks a lot for the recipe ❤❤❤
Wonderful video with so many great tips. Thank you Kathy.
I'm so glad I can help!
Thank you Kathy! Do you think the final result is worth getting another appliance for someone who has a vitamix and food processor?

I err on the side of caution. It's easy and just takes a min. Plus, I experiment a ton, so it's a good habit for me to have.
Very good tips - thank you!
Great tutorial Kathy. Many thanks!

I’m going to try this in my vitamix with frozen pineapple. Thank you
Let us know how it works! The ninja creami looks good, but I just don't want another appliance.
@@janetcapetty1452 it works. I’ve made Dole whip in my Ninja Blender. A vitamix would definitely be able to make it.
Great video! Thank you. 😊

Such a thorough video! I think I might order one so I’m going to come back to your videos, thank you!!

Really you can use any non-dairy milk, so any nut, oat, hemp, etc.
What is the capacity of the little tubs? Worth getting when feeding a family?
They are pint containers. The bonus is that you can make different flavors and everyone can have their favorite!

There is also a gasket in the lid that needs to be removed and cleaned
You just seem like someone I'd be friends with. Thanks for sharing this recipe. 🙂
What blender is that.
It's a Ninja Smoothie: amzn.to/3NDnYiA
I got a Ninja CREAMi about a month ago. Looking forward to trying your recipes and to your plant based ebook!!
❤️
one correction, if you refreeze the tub for another day you shouldn't use the re-spin button according to the creami handbook. great video btw.
I did misspeak and you are correct. Respin is to be used after a main spin only.
What do they suggest for the second day spin?
@@denagustafson6070 The original main setting like sorbet or light ice cream that you used the first time.

It would be less ice-cream like and creamy from a blender than the Creami.
Thank you for your ideas. Mine is coming soon. And I love the way you do it ..I am also plant based. And don’t like the idea of to much sugar.
Informative - looking forward to trying this!
Do you just get 1 pot with the cremi
It depends on where you buy and what they say they include. Can be from 1 - 4, but usually 2.
Thanks to the Creami I’ll be having ice cream every day …
Did you mention the Gelato or did I miss it? Great video

@@CrimFerret thank you for your explanation!
The Ninja Creami works like a Pacojet, not a blender, so the end result is different. Can you do something close-ish in your blender? Yes.
Nothing but Pinapple and Pinapple Juice? Plus Vanilla Plus Almond Milk :-)
thanks I was wondering what type of nut milk she used. TY
Oh my gosh, this is delicious!! I had never tried almond milk before but it is tasty! Thank you for showing me how to make this. :)
I'm do glad you like it!
Figure out a lemon sorbet please, I love lemon sorbet
what happened to that pineapple? Looks like an explosion of cutting!!
disney dole tip is vegan
I'm guessing, however, that Disney isn't whole food. It probably has corn syrup or HFCS and other additives.
I just bought 4 16oz ninja creami containers from QVC #K87613 - $29.99
