- Hey guys! Welcome back to aqoffee. This is our first time reviewing one of our own machines. Today, we are reviewing CM6863 espresso machine. This machine has been working for us almost a year now and it is really good for the price (with upgraded accessories)
We can recommend this machine for newbie who wants to learn extracting espresso or even making a hot latte. It can use with preground coffee (pressurised basket) therefore you can save your money from buying a good grinder. But if you want to get full experience with this machine, we suggest you to upgrade your filter basket to unpressurised and get a good grinder for espresso

Thank you for sharing this review ya! It's really informative. By the way , im using the same espresso machine like this. im just using the build portafilter provided by seller and i just using toothpick ( put inside the filter basket to make it tighter ) so the filter basket won't comes out forever. But i replacing the toothpick everyday.
For the double shot of espresso , im using 14 gram of ground coffee ( extra fine grind ) and give an extra hard tamping by using the 51mm temper that i bought from Shopee , i switch using the Single Shot Button and suprisingly the espresso shot just nice for double shot , the crema look nice too. Because this coffee machine water flow is too much for the great shot of espresso.
For single shot i haven't make experiment yet. Its worth it to make experiment with this coffee machine in a way to brew a great shot of Espresso!
Did u have an issue which is the puck/portafilter become watery? Till now im still stuck at the outcome result which is the extraction is acidity/sour & sharpness.
@@amirulrozik2301 so far I got no problem with watery portafilter . I can suggest you to use thick small towel that absorb water to clean up your portafilter every time you used it. The reason of acidity, sour espresso shot is because the region of the coffee bean you bought.
Like me, I’m using Latin America region Colombia coffee bean that has chocolates and berries characteristic with medium acidity and light bodied
. The second coffee bean i used is Espresso Roast that has full bodied, light acidity with chocolate, spices and earthy flavor note.
If you bought Africa and Arabia region coffee, mostly it has high acidity due to wash processing and natural processing methods.
So you need to pick the right coffee bean for your great shot of Espresso. If you using the same coffee machine like this video, I suggest you try my style of brewing espresso shots.
This coffee machine double shot button is too much hot water pressure and it makes your espresso shot too diluted. So for double shot espresso you can just using Single Shot button for great shot of espresso.
You can also check your grinding setting for your ground coffee. If you grind your beans too coarse it will result the watery and diluted shot of espresso.
If you grind your beans too fine ( Turkish grind ), it will result the very thick and strong shot of espresso, it taste bitter.
I recommend you to use fine or extra fine grind setting for your beans. This setting is suitable for brewing shot of espresso.

got the exact machine. wished i found this video before purchasing! coffee is not too bad, but the froth is really hard to achieve the right frothing for latte. either too much bubbles or not enough because the steam wand is not making the milk spinning
For me, the steam is strong enough but not consistent. Sometimes stronger than delonghi dedica but it will drop the power afterwards
I think you will have better result if the steam wand nozzle is removed. The steam opening will be smaller this way, just remember to purge clean the wand to prevent milk protein from hardening inside the wand.
Whenever i do a double shot i press the “single cup” button… when doing a single shot i use “manual” approximately counting 1 to 10 from the time i pressed the button.

there is no setting on the amt of water for single and double dose?30-40ml including the crema is good for single, while 60-70 plus crema for the double.

Very nice video . I like the idea with the new portafilter and the non pressurized basket. I want to make some improvements to this machine .Fisrt to replace the steam pipe with a longer and with replaceable steaming froth nozzle with 2 or 3 holes and second the stability of the temperature because it drops down very quick. Awesome review thanks for sharing !!!
Yup. I want the same as you. The temp drops so fast. Usually during steaming milk. For the steam wand, i dont know either it can be replaced or not

Thank you for this! inhave been struggling on pressing whatever buttons just to brew. Also, i dont know what I did wrong, but there was a time water was added into my milk while steaming.
You need to run the steamer without putting it into the milk first. To get rid of the condensed water inside

Can you do also a review of this machine using the manual shot setting
You can put a small coffee scale with timer underneath. However in my own test, the water doesn't reach optimal brewing temperature of about 94*C~96*C, as it only give about 70*C.
Therefore regardless if you use manual or automatic, it will still give an under extracted (sour) expresso. Automatic Double gives less sour coffee but too wattery. With my test it gives out 110ml.

I just purchased this machine about a week and i have a problem with the machine exactly like yours.. when i brew the coffee it almost overflowing bcs its filled with water.. so i must bought what you recommended i think 😅

If you accidently run it dry, as I did this morning, you need a method of repriming via the water feed inlet as there is no easy access to the internal components - the hole diameter is 0.152 inches so a tube about 3/32 O.D. " should fit. Anybody with some experience on fixing this problem please chime in.

I just bought this and the problem is I couldn’t get a perfect foam texture and also the temperature of the milk foam drops down easily. Can somebody tell me how can i fix this?

I checked other machines (videos) and in some of them says that coffee flavor is weak or similar qualifiers ... What is your opinion?
I can have decent black coffee with it. However, if you make latte, it will become less obvious

It's not just leaking.. the water explodes on the portafilter sides
Maybe the coffee is too fine and it block the water from going through them?
Hi! Question, I bought the same machine... is it normal to be too shaky? Cause mine is. The glass always get out of place. Is this normal? Thank you.
Too shaky? If your glass moves by itself it is normal. You can see in my petrus review how that machine vibrate (new machine stronger vibration maybe). My CM6863 is still vibrate. I need to reposition the cup sometimes.

I think you need to ask the seller. If there is a faulty from their machine, you can claim warranty

Hi! Thank you for your kind words. For me, the portafilter is a must to get full experience using this machine. However, it depends on one budget, if our budget is low, then can get unpressurised basket only. Most important thing for unpressurised basket is good grinder

Aca espresso machine is much better in built quality. The stock portafilter for Aca is solid and it can hold the filter basket in place. In term of look, the Aca machine is more aestethically pleasing. However, in my knowledge I havent found any aftermarket portafilter for it on internet. But, dont worry because the stock portafilter is already good. It has both spring clip and hook.

Hi how to change it to auto setting
The two buttons are already set as auto brew setting. However, if you want to program the auto setting buttons, I'm sorry you cant. It is fixed from factory

This coffemaker in orginal version name is Zelmer it was a polish good brand which 10 years ago relocate production and patents to China since this time quality their products like this cooffemaker drooped to zero

Hi! It is actually removable. But my machine has some defect. It doesnt have water stopper at the bottom of the tank.

Hello I bought this machine because of your review as well as the Unpressurized Basket. I used the Unpressurized basket on the original portafilter. The only problem I encountered is that the coffee doesnt seem to extract a single crema, Just pure black espresso. Is that okay? or do I need to buy the same Portafilter you bought as well? What is the good one shot espresso ratio?
It depends on one likes. But golden ratio for now is 1:2. From here, we can play a bit from 1:1 to 1:3 or maybe more
I bought one like this. I must say, it cannot produce a good froth of milk for making latte arts. Also yeah, the free portafilter are rubbish. You cannot make good espresso with it
Did you use the wand cover or not? In my experience, it can produce decent microfoam for latte art (without the wand cover). However, I need to angle the wand properly into the milk and adjusting the depth of the steam wand
I tried it with the wand cover and without. The problem with the removed one was having the milk stucked on it making it very hard to clean. Been trying different methods andangles but I cannot really make a good froth. Mind if you can make a video also on how you make a good milk froth? Wanna know your technique

I think you don't understand about espresso machine is it? 2 shot doesn't equal to 2 full cups.
