In this series you can join me at the craft table once a week for a few minutes of art and craft creativity - between ten and twenty minutes usually, depending what we're playing with.
Today I'm playing with some Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Ink pads, and a simple technique I picked up from Tim's online demos years ago... Spritz and Flick. It's an old favourite of mine because it creates random, organic textures for a lovely inky background. Distress Inks + water... who could ask for anything more?!
Let me know in the comments if you'd like a more detailed video on the tag-inking process, maybe with some Distress Oxides involved too.
Distress Inks on these tags include: Salvaged Patina, Scorched Timber, Broken China, Peeled Paint, Uncharted Mariner, Rustic Wilderness, Vintage Photo, Hickory Smoke, Pumice Stone, Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Shaded Lilac, Villainous Potion, Frayed Burlap - though you don't see all of them being used in this video. - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต

Yes please to a more detailed video on the tag-inking process with some Distress Oxides involved as well! I LOVE your natural looking muted color palette on the completed tags! I struggle to go from the bright hews you get when the ink first goes on the paper, to that soft natural look you achieved here without it getting TOO grungy. I'm going to practice more after seeing this. I'd love to learn more about the color choices and combinations that you so beautifully use in your work. I would also love to see how you use these inked tags with botanicals, my favorite as well! Thank you for sharing your beautiful work!

Thank you! There are definitely some Ink/Oxide videos on the way talking in more detail about using the Distress range, and I'm sure colour choices will be in there. Though having said that, colour is a very personal thing, so it's also about working out what makes your own heart sing!
These tag backgrounds are beautiful! I especially like the way each one has a sort of glow of light in a different place. I've never used the distress oxides and would like to learn more about them. More inking, please!

These are so beautiful! I have lots of the Oxides but few of the plain Distress ink pads. I think it's time to invest! Thank you so much for giving us ideas for short 'play' times.
