One of the things that is good about this series is that we see you actually creating. Not sure about others, but I have A LOT of papers already created. I'm enjoying seeing you creating with them!
Oh Jackie dear! How I love the addition of p.grey and v.d. brown and the effect it donates to the pictures, when you wipe it off!!! 🥳 There are so many fine ideas again in this video. Thanks a lot! I m gibbery to see the next stages of your process .
Fabulous! I love the idea of the backward gluing of the papers and I am keen to try it out. I have a painting on canvas that is annoying me😂 I’ve used sanders before and I love destroying work to make something new. I saw someone, maybe Mystele? sand back and “ruin” her painting when I first started to paint and have loved the act of making and then destroying and remaking ever since. My art journey has been different from a lot of people because of this…nothing is ever precious😂 I also never care if I “finish” a painting which I think frees me completely. I don’t have the pressure on myself to make something good enough to hang on my wall, which often makes something good enough to hang on my wall😂 I often never finish my embroideries either, mainly because I get bored and start another one but tell people I leave them incomplete for the viewer to imagine what they would put there 😂😂😂
OMGosh Cindy, you are truly a sister from another mister! "Nothing is ever precious" is exactly what I hope to convey when I upload a video. I build and destroy over and over until my heart sings. 🥰
I’m blown away by this vid… gotta tell ya, as soon as I saw you dabbing off the glaze, I thought, “Oh no! I liked it better before the glaze!” And then you showed the pics of the fruit & it INSTANTLY made sense! And now I’ll never doubt the process again! Lol I’m so excited to see the finished outcome & try this myself!!
Thank you very much, Gina! This made me giggle because as soon as I started putting the glaze on the first panel I knew it would get a reaction, but I just knew it was right for this project. And...if it didn't workout I could décollage it again - win win 😂. Thank you so much for watching, and I really do hope you'll try it at least once - ripping papers off something you've already created is SO liberating. 🥰
Jackie, you're killing me here, showing at the video's end a brief shot of the actual veggies painted on the panels!! I am 100% an instant gratification gal, and I want to see the rest of your process and the finished panels NOW!! LOL I will have to wait patiently with everyone else until next Saturday to see the rest of your process and the completed works. But, knowing you, seeing you complete the panels will be worth the wait, as I know they're going to be fantastic!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for another great video!!
LOL - the anticipation! Actually what you saw at the end of this video is not the final look of the panels...not even close. * wink * But I'll tell you this - the process to get to that point is super-cool and I know you'll love it. Be patient Grasshopper 🥰
@@PaintedPaperStudio Patience is a virtue not bestowed on moi! But I'll try to keep myself in check this week, I promise : ))) And I realize the sneak peek was just a stage not completion!

Ha! Thank you for watching all of it, Queen. It's been fun being a little ahead of the filming so that I can show glimpses of what's coming up. I'll see you next week 🥰
This is so inspiring Jackie, decollage looks super fun and love how it creates a vintage look to the pieces, so much texture too 🤩. I’m currently working in journals, experimenting and trying to figure out what I would like to achieve with abstract. I wonder if decollage would work on a paper surface? 🤔 Looking forward to the next instalment 😍 Thank you and have a fabulous week 🙏🏻🤗🙏🏻
Hi Andrea! Yes, you can totally do it on a paper surface, just don't let the medium dry too much. I once saw a video and they décollaged in a journal and it was beautiful. I would probably try it out on sheets of paper outside of my journal first so I could test how long I would need to wait to start pulling the paper. If you do it, be sure to let me know how it works out for you. 🥰
I'm learning about so many techniques and ideas that I didn't know about previously. Your panels are really coming together. I'm looking forward tot he next video too. :)
Jackie, that is amazing! I did some layer removal before but never with this "décollage" method! Very interesting! Quick question, where is there an arrow on one side of each canvases?!? To indicate top?
LOL , Chloé - I was wondering who would be the first to ask about the arrows 😂😂😂 I put them on the tape after filming the composition episode and I cannot for the life of me remember why. This has become a common occurrence for me at this stage of life 😂😂😂
I have just the unfinished piece that ne3ds this. THANK YOU. If you ever feel like adding brief bullet points recapping process at end of video, I would love that.

Thank you, Leslie! Here is a playlist with the proper sequence, but to answer your question, in the first 2 videos, I did not know what the subject of the videos would be, I just knew I was making them for a specific spot in my kitchen. By the 3rd video, the paper painting/gel printing video, I had decided and let the process come to me. 🥰 th-cam.com/play/PLgIXaAju7by2VcRb34YK-jy83l9X8Hmc4.html&si=qhInzDGcFw-YNPeM
Thank you very much, Pannie! I've put a link to the wood panels in the description of this video. If you scroll down you'll find them under the "Supplies" section. 🥰
And I am so happy you're here Katanya! The panels are birch wood panels, which I've had for maybe 12 years. I can't remember where I got them, but I've linked to very comparable panels in the description. 🥰
@@PaintedPaperStudio Thank you so much for your reply! 😊 Are they simply squares of plywood? I'm asking because I've just made a series of panels like this. We are building our house and our builder had a strip of plywood left over so I asked him to cut it up for me in 18cm x18cm squares that are 18mm thick (approx 7 inch by 3/4 inch thick). I made a series of 9 panels that are destined to be mounted together on a large panel (I'm thinking it has to be plywood of the same thickness) However, I'm thinking that all of that is going to weigh a lot! I've never done this before but I really love the idea of works made up of several panels, and I want to make more, but have no idea how these are usually made. I know that some artists use panels that are hollow, but that would mean buying a whole lot of them. That could be quite expensive, and I would also be limited to standard sizes.
One more question Jackie - at about 12:20 minute mark when you applied matte medium - I absolutely loved that hazy look right after application. Would you happen to know of a medium that stays like this and dries out kind of milky/hazy instead of clear ? Thank you in advance.
That is such a great question - I love that look, too. I think the easiest way to get there would be to mix a tiny amount of Titan Buff fluid acrylic and/or a white fluid acrylic with a larger amount of matte medium, or a matte gel medium. This definitely sounds like something I need to experiment with 🥰
Yes, you can you different types of glues and mediums all having different levels of tack or sticky-ness 😀 I like using the polymer mediums for the way I collage, however I always have a stick of Uhu and Yes Paste nearby. Thank you for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. 🥰
