This Bolens push mower with a Briggs and Stratton Classic engine was pretty dismantled and missing a lot of things. In this video I piece a bunch of parts together and install a Hipa carb diaphragm kit to get this mower ready for sale and to live a new life!

Bought a Yard Machines 3 1/2 HP from Lowes in the late nineties. I replaced it with a Toro Recycler 22 in. self propelled which I still use. The YM sat unused about a year and then I cleaned the carb and replaced the air filter,primer bulb,spark plug,muffler and changed the oil. It ran like new and I gave it to a lady that needed a mower but could not afford to buy one. Those old flathead Briggs engines would last with regular maintenance.
Definitely my favorite engine! Cool to see you do a push mower again!
They are so easy to work on and fix It's been a while since I filmed a push mower! Riders do better in terms of views and my push mower stock is pretty low at the moment.

Which one do you like to control the engine speed which is ether the air vane or the mechanical govener style of engine speed control system
This one is auto throttle, but the air vane setup works good on these mowers. I like it over the governor setup.
@@EllisMowersandmore I do like the oid school Air vane set up myself strange thing is that Briggs and Stratton quit making it 😞😞
