  • Welcome back to my channel!
    In this video I put the 8x35 Dream Mat Bigfoot Sluice to work and I get my biggest gold clean up to date!
    I used the Vortex Mat and ran everything unclassified. I would estimate around 9 buckets worth of material over 3 hours that I ran through with only one clean up.
    I’m so impressed with Dream Mat and can’t wait to test the other mats I have for my Bigfoot.
    I hope you enjoy! Oh and don’t be afraid to hit that Like and Subscribe button if you enjoyed the content and want to see more!

      My brother WheezinGeezer! Oh for sure! No complaints at all. That was a great 3ish hours and I will run more for sure. I still can’t believe I found that much. My wife was even surprised and wanted to grab a shovel and help me! 🤣🤣🤣 One thing I learned in this video, is that I have no idea when it comes to how much I have in the pan. When I saw the amount in the pan, I really thought it was only going to be a 1/4 to a 1/3 of a gram. I’ll take it! Thanks brother. Always appreciate you coming by!

    I just bought a combo dream mat for my A52. I just installed it Friday night. We have flood water running in our river right now so I am going to wait till it slows down a bit. I can't wait to try out my dream mat.

      High Tone! Thanks awesome and I know you’re going to love it! It’s honestly night and day. Yea some people will never convert and that’s ok, but since I’ve went to dream mat, I’ve consistently got better gold recovery. This video proved it to me once and for all. If I would of used my Keene I would of probably only found 50-75 flakes and would have to run it all classified and do multiple clean outs. So I wouldn’t of been able to run that much through it. Anyhow. It works, and it works great!

  • @richpederson6691
    @richpederson6691 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Great video, man. Nice explanation for how the dream mat works, then you double down and yank almost a gram of gold out. Very good day in my book.Thanks for sharing.👍

    • @StoneyCreekSparkchaser
      @StoneyCreekSparkchaser  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Rich! I appreciate you coming by and yea, I killed it that day! You’ve seen me use the Keene in the past and I do like it, but I always found that I was only recovering like a max amount. It was weird and I had to clean the sluice multiple times and run everything classified. With this vortex mat I was able to run it with no limitations and put so much more through it. I couldn’t believe how much I got. I thought when I saw it in the pan that it was only going to be 1/4 to a 1/3 of a gram. So when I saw almost a gram, I about jumped out of my clothes. That was by far my best cleanup to date. I’m excited to get back out there and see if I am still on it. The only downside with doing it how I did it, is I might of only been on the hot spot the first hour and the rest was just dead material. So maybe I need to do more cleanups so I know what areas to focus in, because that area was like a 12 square foot area that I dug in. Anyhow. Thanks for coming by and I’m glad you enjoyed it!

Then I would use my traditional Keene sluice and always recover maybe double or triple that but that’s it. I can confirm now that I was just blowing it all out the sluice because it was already saturated with material. I wasn’t really aware of it at the time, but the dream mat you can just go go go. Complete game changer for me to say the least.

      Hey what’s going on Free Range? Thanks for stopping by and checking out the video. And yes it’s a fantastic product. I got to use the Dream Mat a few times now and each time I’ve been able to run more material in shorter amounts of time and get better gold. I know have the 6 inch and 8 inch sluices and I may go bigger, but the bigger I go the harder it is to work in my creek so I’ll have to find another river if I go say to the 10 or 12 inch. Thanks again for the support and I hope you had a great weekend.

      Hey DoggoneGold! I completely understand what you are saying. That fly poop is hard to capture. The vortex does well with it, but you can also try the mini or micro mat. They also have combo mats with multiple sizes in them. I’m going to try that 8 inch with the micro or mini in it and see how it does. I also want to keep trying unclassified to see how it works just shoveling it in there. I’ll put it to the test soon and see how it performs. I was really surprised with what I got. I’m pretty consistent at that spot but I know as well as you that it could change drastically even a few feet over. I’m excited to see where it takes me. Thanks again my friend!

      I will definitely use my other mats and see how they compare my friend. I feel ya on the gear. I don’t have much thank goodness, but I did invest in some stuff that I’ll throw out there to give them a try. I’ve always been a believer in the saying, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. But for me personally, running my Keene versus the dream mat, there’s just no comparison. Especially on my creek because I’ve just been blowing out gold on my creek the entire time out of my Keene. That’s why I’m excited to hit these other areas and see how it performs where I went in the past and was getting fine gold recovery

      Hey Anthony! Thanks brother! Hey I checked out you live today. How’d it go after you ended it? Also thanks for checking out the video man. That was an epic day for me and I ran the crap out of that Bigfoot sluice. I had another similar time using my 6 inch dream mat on that creek in another spot and I got some really good gold too but only did like a bucket worth of classified material. Needless to say, I was stoked almost getting a gram. It didn’t sink in until I weighed it with how much I got. I thought it was only a 1/4 or a gram at least which is be floored with as well! I’m going to continue on that spot with some other mats for my 8 inch and see where the pay streak goes. I’ll probably do a few clean ups this time so I can better track the spot. That was one of the issues with this cleanup, not too sure if it was the spot closer to the creek or as I was going down further in the bed where the rusty red stuff was. I also came to the conclusion that I wasn’t running my Keene properly enough because I know I was blowing stuff out the other end. Was I feeding too much, too much flow, or just not doing more regular cleanups? Anyhow, these are things I need to figure out. Thanks again man and I hope you have a great night.

      @@StoneyCreekSparkchaser your welcome man. It went alright. I hiked far up creek. There wasn't much water. Went to my normal spot. The hole I've been working last few months got filled in with sand from all the rain and snow lol. 3ft of it..found a different spot didn't get skunked so that was good. But yeah man the Keene is tricky sometimes. Sometimes it takes me like 10 min to get it set up correctly.. but yeah man that was a decent amount of gold you found. Start digging close to the creek. Pan it out if not much then hit that backside. You will find the streak. Might even lead to some pickers

      @@StoneyCreekSparkchaser I took my 8x36 vortex out yesterday but I had trouble getting it set up to run right. I always have trouble getting the angle needed and the flow required. • @StoneyCreekSparkchaser
      @StoneyCreekSparkchaser  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Mr_Popejoy I hear you on the correct flow rate. Dream mats needs pretty good flow. The creek I live on is pretty low so I probably couldn’t use it either. I’d have to damn it up and run it that way to increase my flow. As for the angle, dream mats are pretty forgiving so at really fast flows, you can pretty much have it level. At really slow rates that’s where it’s complicated. As long as you’re seeing the material flow out leaving cons behind in the cells you’re good. Also bigger sluices in slow water are a problem. I have a little 6x24 that works great in slow water and to be honest works just as well. I just have to feed it slower. Anyhow… this is the life story of a prospector! Hahaha. What’s going on Hash?!?! It does really good. My creek is basically all flood gold. It’s replenished after every winter and I do fairly well. As you can see the vortex mat does good with it, but that mini mat or micro might be better under slower conditions. That’s what makes this product great. You can buy one sluice and have multiple mats depending on what you are finding. Always experiment though because some gold will not get caught as easy. I like the vortex because I can just shovel and go. Classifying is fine but as you know it takes time and if a little gold bypasses that’s ok with me, because I can run more material and get more gold in the long run. Hope this helps. Thanks for the support and comment. I really appreciate it 💪😎👍

      Hey Duane! Appreciate the comment and support and you may be right. I’ve had the privilege to prospect with the guy who made and designed the Dream Mat and when using the vortex mat, you can most definitely shovel and go, but yea I probably lost some gold, no sluice is perfect but with the amount of material I read I was super happy with my results. I’ve used tons of equipment on that creek and by far my Dream Mat caught the most amount of gold. Also, if I was classifying, I would have in no way ran through the amount of material I did in this video. Also, the creek I’m on is so hit or miss, I could get nothing just a few feet away, but other pockets I’ve found have some substantial gold. Prospecting for one thing is a guessing game as you very well know. Again, thanks for the comment and support. I really appreciate it! I hope 2024 loads your pans full of gold my friend!
