A few years ago I gave it a try, ended up with a lot of the same realisations as you. The foreign face always standing out, that was probably the biggest one for me. It was fun at first to get all the attention, the inability to get a good job - restrictive job market even if you're degree qualified, and under the surface there was always some form of violence or unsafe environment for you, whether it's from people trying to take advantage of you, or people getting killed on the roads - they started to wear my enthusiasm down for the place. I'm 42 now, life is just easier in Europe, spent a few years in Poland, moved to Finland, now I'm heading to Slovakia. I prefer the Slavic culture, seems to fit my personalty best.
I don’t see much danger or safety concern or food quality problem in Singapore especially is also part of south east Asia and they have one of the highest standards of living in the world 🤷♂️
place are like foods... its doesnt matter if the place good or badm if its not suit your taste.. same like food.. there is many choice somewhere else.. good luck..
I'm living in the Philippines currently and I can say there are a lot of pros : life is cheaper than in the west, people are easy going, and women are good looking (except the one who live in a Jollibee...) However, there are cons as well : you'll always remain a foreigner, a "kano", a walking ATM. Even if you worked f***ing hard to get what you've got, locals with assume that you became "rich" because of the holy spirit, and many will try to take advantage of you (your family at law, first). You will pay the "skin tax", and you'll probably experience "tampo" (sulk) + jealousy from your clingy local girlfriend. Paradise on earth doesn't exist.
If you are talking about dirty places, I can agree that there are lots of dirty communities in S.E. Asia but if you are talking about personal hygiene, they are the cleanest people compared to any other places. You have to understand that the community is poor and they have fewer facilities to keep the community cleaner and they have no control over it. It is not unusual for the people to wash, shower or bath more than 2 or 3 times a day.
People in southeast Asia are mostly "good vibes", and I think you underestimate the benefits of living in a society with positive people and who have kept that innocence we lost in the West. They're no massive immigration problem here and people keep smiling, even though their living conditions aren't always the best. Unlike for instance France who, even though has nice salaries and quality of life compared to other countries (it remains a Western country), the global atmosphere remains pretty negative, not only because of all the politic and safety problems, but also because of the overall negative culture with protestations, riots, pessimism, struggling to encourage, always see the glass half-empty... It weighs on the morale
Unfortunately I thought this might have some substance, but I am hearing is hatred ,that sex farms are not as cheep like they used to be, this married man has problems so considering the source, worry about why you want to go to SE Asia this shaded vague content is not honest or up front
Nobody made you move to asia. Its a choice you have made on your own. You then realised you made a big mistake, and here you are attempting to advise others. That is rich of you. In case you haven't figured it out, there is no one suit that fits all
You are only talking about your own preference, likes n dislikes and opinions. Others may not think like you. So, why would I care what you think unless you're talking about it in general?
Nah. Fundamentally, you need a source of income wherever you want to live, and most westerners don't often choose career paths that lead to a viable existence outside their own, or similar, countries. All the bitching and moaning you hear about SE Asia is usually from people who are struggling financially. Obviously if you're married to someone from Russia, there's fewer reasons to be anywhere outside of the western world, and living and working in Russia is as non-viable for most people as SE Asia. In Europe, wages have fallen in real terms, crime is up, unemployment is up, living costs and taxes are up, and not everyone is happy or coping with it either, as can be seen in polling and elections. All the things moaned about SE Asia can be found in parts of Europe too; and Europe is boring too.
@PassportBachelor Immigration is as much a symptom as a cause... the underlying cause is the massive levels of debt that needs servicing and prompts risk of default, which in turn is ultimately caused by the state being unsustainably large.
Aside from moaners often having financial "reality checks", and constraints; the other issue is the sense of isolation and lack of sustained social life, beyond just the "holiday stuff", which people often don't think about. It's not just about tax avoidance and lower costs and access to slimmer women.
Bullcrap dude. Even with money SEA is hellhish. Its overpopulated, theres no space. Its super noisy, chaotic for nothing. Shallow relationships, unability to go deep and connect with locals. Toxic air… far from the dream

Thanks for your feedback.
6:43 Thank God for that 😊

Singapore and Hong-Kong being the exceptions. Japan, Taiwan and Korea have good standards as well.

I still like the Philippines, don’t get me wrong.
What about the noise ? Phillipines looks noisy as hell. Plus unsafe and overpopulated. Sounds hell to me
Still quite safe compared to France for instance, but yeah, noisy as hell and polluted.
@@turbosandtalks noise is a huge problem. If its noisy you cant focus and be at peace. These countries should do something about it.
Agree
Could not agree more …
You are right, Sir. Asean are over rated.
What makes it overrated according to you?

Eastern Europe or Spain offer a good compromise between Southeast Asia and France, especially if your wife isn’t from Southeast Asia.
South east asia free frm war.Europe not safe frm war if fhe war broke out.😊
1 ASEAN

Hatred? What a BS.

I wouldn’t call it a « big mistake », I don’t regret my time there, it just doesn’t match my criteria anymore.
You are only talking about your own preference, likes n dislikes and opinions. Others may not think like you. So, why would I care what you think unless you're talking about it in general?
Give Southeast Asia a shot and you will know whether it matches your own preferences or not.
