its a fair question to ask our selfs, when I was researching the book "think and grow rich" as a teen I found a lot of successful people use this method of using their imagination to create their reality. Your thoughts, or over time what you think of your self and wants, become what your living in. Theres lots of prof to show this is very true. Like the old saying watch what you want, because your going to get it. What you put out in the universe daily ends up being your reality, effecting your choices and there for unfolding as what your living in. It would explain why this method works so well for so many. Of course theres situations that happen that we cant control, but maybe those situations are tests. I know you have to keep focus on a task or wants to make it happen. Just purely stating a want one day, and forgetting about it, or not putting energy into it wont make it a reality. But putting the certain amount of energy into your imagination and energy into your actions daily does create your over all reality. Which is why I find the thought process of end of times very concerning, if humanity thinks we will wipe our selfs out over time, maybe we will by thinking that for a certain amount of time, maybe we wont change toxic ways because we believe its too late.. hence why we are masters of our own destiny as a collective.
That's a superstition, n it has nothing to do with computer simulations.
The logical explanation is that if you want something really bad and you put energy in that need some of your actions are automatically going to be positive changes towards that future where you get what you want. Simple, nothing to do with simulations

Hi Wes, thanks so much for your snarky comment :) I practiced this talk for 80 hours, but it looks like it wasn't enough. Some things don't go according to plan when you're speaking in front of 300 people. There are definitely things that I would have done differently if I had had another chance, and this is one of them.

another aspect everyone is overlooking is that of quantum mechanics and subatomic physics-when you see that atoms are not really tiny solar systems of electrons in orbits around a nucleus but that electrons are waves and everything really is waves and not particles, then realize that they are waves of what?-WAVES OF PROBABILITIES, they are only probabilities to exist, where you cant find the speed and location at the same time of any subatomic "particle"

and us and the rocks and buildings and everything around us and the entire universe is all made of atoms- it really is a matrix, a matrix of probabilities and chance created by our perception, we actually create this "universe" by perceiving it!
and this is not a movie or crazy idea but where physics is today and what we have discovered scientifically about the true nature of our "reality"
We all have experienced sadness from love, this pain we experienced is there to make sure we never doult this force that bind us; LOVE!
We are as « real » as this pain we experience from loosing one another and, therefore, we are as « real » as this love that bind us.

When you think of yourself as a character in a game, that you can manipulate, you are in charge, then go to the thought that we could be a character in a " game ", it makes perfect sense. Living in a simulation may just be a valid hypothesis. Even if it could be proven, which I doubt, would it change our lives that much?

I really like the way you explained the subject. Today is February 17 2021.
What if we aren't AI in the simulation but almost avatars? Like once booted in you control your body while there. And while we sleep we go back to wherever while our avatar or body charges just to come back in 8 hours later. So many crazy thoughts on this whole thing. When we get to the point of being able to download you on a chip you'll need something to keep you entertained in that virtual space, that's where the simulation comes in. And at that point in time could be 50000 years in the future and we are already there now and just dont know it bc you're already a chip in the virtual world.
You got it! Guess what? Only an avatar would realize it so you are indeed an avatar. It’s likely a multiplayer simulation. That means there are a lot of avatars. But at the same time; it means the majority of other beings are NPCs. A non layer AI characters.

Error: if this is a simulation, it simulates the PHYSICS, and we evolved within that physics just as we've always assumed we've assumed we did in "real" physics. We are not "programmed" in the way we would program a robot or AI, as a deliberate construction created for a purpose.

So when we have dreams, each dream is a new simulation, and when we awake, we return to the body simulation. But the Uncreated Awareness, the witness that you are, always remains after every dream simulation, even the virtual simulation of these human bodies. The uncreated awareness that we all are, is our true reality. Our true reality was never born. When the doors of (virtual reality, simulations and perceptions) are cleansed. everything will appear as it truly is, infinite.

Very fascinating. Maybe there is a possibility that our soul is the player from higher world. When the character (person) dies, the soul goes back to its origin and can decide if it wants to play again, if yes so is it reborn in new life.

@Peter A. I've thought the same thing, but there's no other option to accept it, 'cause we can't escape, and even if its a joke, it's a very interesting one, with lots of things to learn
@Peter A. I think crashing the program is beyond our means, take a videogame for instance, what are the chances a virtual player could crash the whole videogame. Better being dead? yeah, I recently read "The conspiracy against the human race", and it makes a good case for that, and I've flirted with the idea, but from what I've researched about children that remember past lives, I strongly believe, death is an illusion, just the passage to another instance of the game, we return who knows how many times, maybe forever.

@Peter A. This is definitely one way to look at it, but I think that this is definitely your own interpretation. Even if our simulation was created as a "joke," we still have the experience of consciousness. I would take the option of living over not existing every single time.
Also, there is a major problem with your phrase "reality is fake." First of all, what do you mean when you say "reality?" Second of all, even if we were living in a simulation, why would that make our experience "fake?"
The big elephant in the room that the speaker ignored is the big question: what is an "experience"? and "Who or what is doing the experiencing"? Absolutely nothing indicates that artificial intelligence generates qualia or any sort of subjective world. Nothing we know suggests that conscious experience is even a physical thing that can ever be simulated, no matter the power of the computing device.
What about self-driving tech?

The simulation hypothesis is just religion re-imagined for the 21st century. It sounds more rational to modern humans compared to old school supernatural beliefs but it suffers from the same problems. It makes the overall picture of the world much more complicated without explaining anything that we couldn't already explain by just sticking to studying the physical world and its laws. It is also unfalsifiable - no matter how far I get in explaining the workings of the world you can just tell me it is all part of the simulation.
I think the relationship between consciousness, the underlying information processing that is behind our consciousness and the physical world we observe is more complicated that we can imagine at this point. The simulation is an interesting theory but it has a lot of problems.

as we grow we expand our collectives conscious knowledge, which would explain our current understanding of life, in 1000 years we will have a totally different understanding of life but that is part of the human experiment
I sympathize with your arguments, but disagree on a few points. What evidence do you have that SH (simulation hypothesis) is unfalsifiable? The dream of science is to come up with a way to definitively prove or disprove the nature of our reality, why wouldn't (or shouldn't) we try to apply the scientific approach to SH?
Also, you say that SH "makes the overall picture of the world much more complicated" while then saying that the truth "is more complicated than we can imagine at this point." So which is it? Are we overcomplicating or undercomplicating?
Lastly, I'm not sure how up to date you are with quantum mechanics, but the way that the quantum world works (to my admittedly limited knowledge) is very difficult to explain. Simulation theory might even be able to unify quantum mechanics and general relativity.

After watching the double slit experiments again I think we need to define what is consciousness. Because is the mere fact that something is collecting "data" that will later be interpreted as any kind of information that our physical world can measure either with physical tools or just in our mind's thought process.
You could say that it's simply the "mass" from the measuring instruments that's pushing these objects together.. BUT.. why doesn't the other objects with mass do the same things. I mean, the "slit" itself is mass. It begs deep deep questions.

@@AK-bx3ft The spirit realm is the next highest realm to this one the only actual real realm is the one that the source is in the first realm all others are simulation conceived by the sources mind we die and leave this physical realm with it's limited physical attributes, the next realm is the first of many spiritual realms and which increase in attributes that seem more and more like magic in comparison to the previous realm until we get to the last realm which is as I said the only real reality that exists, some say three heavens or seven heavens or broken down and separate even more, the first spiritual realm right after this physical realm looks very much like this existence so much so many that pass from this physical realm don't even know they have left this world and entered the first spirit realm and some stay believing this to verying degrees.
