  • This follows on from my previous video about organising & editing CC, especially CAS CC. For more general tips, make sure you check out that video but in this one, more advanced stuff specifically for objects will be covered. As with the last video, bare in mind that I'm an obsessive freak but even if you pick up just a handful of the many tips shared in this video, I'm sure you'll notice your game loading faster and running smoother, and/or get your BB catalog just how you like it!

When I first watched these few videos I thought to myself that it’s a lot of work and I couldn’t be bothered to do it. But now I’ve redone all my CC and I edit everything I download because there’s just something so satisfying about having all of the files organized and I can actually find all the items in game!
Thank you so much for these videos!

That’s exactly how I feel! Sometimes it still feels like too much work for me too, but then it bothers me so much to have things not how I like them or like you said, not even being able to find them! So glad you found them helpful and congratulations on re-doing your CC, I’m currently in the process!

It took me 2 months to actually sit down and absorb all the info but boy am I glad I finally did. I'm redoing my cc folder and this is so helpful, I can't thank you enough.
Knowing that I have all these steps to follow really makes me more selective with what I choose to download, I like that :3

Haha I honestly don’t blame you, its a lot. And its a lot to do, I’m doing it really slowly a bit at a time and get bored easily with it, but hopefully it’ll all be worth it in the end and make the game so much more enjoyable. I’m so glad you found it helpful :)

This video was equally as fascinating and educational as the first one: really well done and easy to follow. Thank you for putting this together. 🥰 Your level of dedication to every single piece of cc is amazing, and although time consuming, I bet that your game will run smoothly when as organized as this. Really cool!
Thank you for clarifying on the merging in this video. I wasn't sure if the merging was made with or without the mesh, but this clarified that it was indeed with. Interesting how that works: I guess you have to be really certain of which recolors you want to add before merging then.
The way you applied a recolor to a different mesh with such ease was incredible to watch. Thank you for including that: it was really cool!
Your comments on some bathtubs lacking the option to wash dogs made me wonder. A while ago, I followed a tutorial on how to add hobby enthusiasm to objects in SimPE. I had an easel that was, I'm guessing, created before Freetime, which didn't give the sims arts and crafts enthusiasm while using it. I wonder if it's similarly possible to add missing functionality to the objects in SimPE 🤔 As for example adding the option to was dogs in a cc tub. Might be fun to mess around with 😊
Again, thank you for putting this video together and sharing it. I loved it! ❤

Your comments mean so much to me, thank you so much for the kind words, it really makes my day and makes all the effort of creating these so worthwhile.
I should have expanded on whether to merge the recolours with the mesh or not, it really depends and is up to you. I showed the progress of my hair folders in my last video and with those I decided to keep the meshes separately and only merge the recolours together by creator as many creators make textures for the same mesh and don't want to have duplicate meshes or tie a mesh in with one load of recolours that I might decide to delete which would then break the other recolours. Also, sometimes meshes are slaved to one another. In these cases, I tend to keep the master and slave meshes separately then merge their shared recolours together. For example: 'DiningTable_mesh_master' and 'EndTable_mesh_slave' and 'tables_recolours'. master and slave relationships can get ruined by merging so its always worth double checking. Also, if you merge multiple meshes together, I found that only one would show up in the collection file (super annoying) so that's why I keep meshes apart. You can merge more files in with an already merged file, like if someone makes more recolours you can add them into an existing merge, but it would be a massive pain to try take recolours out of a merged file so either be sure before you merge, keep the original files somewhere other than your game files, or keep track of what you download so you can always redownload and do it again without a recolour in if you change your mind. Hope that helps!
I do really hope to find that information out about adding the pet functionality to bathtubs, I have one sitting on my desktop waiting lol. If I find out how to do it, I'll make a short video on it as part of my mainly-SimPe mini series I hope to start soon.
Again, thank you so much for your encouragement. I've just seen your channel and will definitely be binging your Pleasantview LP soon!

Very carefully and thoroughly done. Some of your tips are so appreciated. I particularly love the way you import textures from other meshes. The community catalog code is one I change to 128 on every single piece of buy cc and some build items. It prevents my aggravation when I arrive on a community lot and can't buy a pose box I need for example, or the fireplaces aren't available, and lots more annoying problems. I didn't know about the sales price, had no idea that any other value than 35 would prevent placement on an angle. Thank you! I'll routinely change that value. Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to produce such a wonderfully detailed and useful tutorial!

Aw thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words! So glad you found it helpful. I might start changing everything to 128 for the community sort too actually. I’m honestly not sure what happens if its any other number than 35, perhaps it just has to not be 0 but the only source I’ve seen on it said to change it to 35 so thats what I go with!

I just have one question! Do you also do this with hair cc and hair conversions like 4t2 or 3t2 hairs. I really love the sculpted hair from the sims 4 and objects. I also want organize them and compress them so it doesn't take up to much space in my in Laptop, I'm using to for fim school.

Hi have you seen part 1 of this 2 parter? The first part is about CAS :) I don't use hairs in an example in that video but I do mention it and show you what my reorganised hair folders are looking like in it :) I do compress and merge them too, but I keep the meshes separately (merge only the colours) because I've found many creators make textures and colours for the same mesh so it saves space by not having multiple of the same mesh. If you have and would like to talk more specifically about hairs then feel free to join my discord to have a chat where I can easily send screenshots and such :)
