Hi, May I request you for something. Can you try “Lot Income Rights” Mod + “MortgageShrubs” Mod by Simlogical as a showcase to us? Please. It is a very interesting mod that allows a player to play the playable sims as being a landlord of apartment lots and other types residential lots in the Sims 2 (And collecting incomes from them)
This really feels like the second golden age of The Sims 2. I am amazed at the magic the modders have made. Also a quick rememberance for those modders who have passed away but helped to create the building blocks that makes this game great. ETA: Polariod camera and the kleptomania trait finally gives me a reaason to send bad sims to jail. Thanks Belladovah ❤

Wringer washers were what they used before modern washing machines. They started off as wood and metal, then metal than plastic. That one would be great for a 1920-1960 style game.

i really wish there was a catalog mod that makes a icon that takes up the space between the pets and misc categories, then emulates the buy mode categories panel, and migrates all the custom content to that emulated panel. i hate how the catalog gets horrendously cluttered with random bits from cc sets, and it's also a PITA to make a collection file if one wasn't included and recategorize everything manually to only show in a collection.

It’s a huge mod so it naturally has some conflicts, see the comments where I’ve been discussing them with the creator, a lot of smaller mods it conflicts with are fully included so can be gotten rid of😊
There is so much information in this video, I love the idea of this being a series. I have already been taking so many notes and I'm only halfway through the video. Going to continue tomorrow with some coffee and a fresh mind. 😄 Some of these mods I actually had already found in the last weeks, but also so many are completely new to me and very interesting! Was mostly taking notes on mod conflicts and decisions to make about gameplay and stuff if I add or change mods in my game, while downloading the ones I liked. (I have too many as it is, but determined to make it work. 😅) And a small update since last night: I've started using the new custom memory mod together with the memory commander and I'm in love. I'm afraid I'll never get out of the pause mode again. 😂 But it's so great to finally be able to do this!

Thanks for this awesome overview, I’ve got a huge shopping list now! I’m so excited for the new traits too - I like your idea about no pets wants for the dislikes animals/cats/dogs ones. If you do make that it would be wonderful if it were compatible with Epi’s mod that changes the puppy/kitten wants to just cat/dog as well! It would be funny too if your Sim got that frustrated “who, me?” animation if you directed them to interact with an animal and they had those traits 😆 as an extra touch. It would be great if minimalists never got wants to buy objects or something? I could go on and on; I wish I knew how to mod cause I always think of random ideas for traits mods!

I use that puppy/kitten want mod too so I’d keep that in mind, but even if someone else ends up making it I doubt those would actually conflict anyway!

@@JacobAnthonyOConnor ah based on how Beau's crib looked? I do use that mod usually but I just put these new ones in a pretty much empty downloads folder along with a couple graphical & UI bits. It is on my main mod list, although that list is outdated as I'm in the process of rebuilding my downloads folder and remaking my list from scratch on my website but that one will have a permanent place in my downloads folder & on my main list :)
I agree! I wish both that and the tweaks mod would also take the hopeless romantic trait into account so romance sims with that trait wouldn’t be eligible
Is there any way you could do a tutorial on how to install the loads of laundry mod? Sorry, I try to follow all the spread sheets and tried to get all the dependencies but some things kept glowing blue, and there were so many different links to different dependencies.

@@therelaxingcgi glad you like it😊 I use this camera mod compilation: www.tumblr.com/lowedeus/137560317441/%D1%81amera-mod-compilation Make a backup of your cameras folder inside Documents/EA Games/Sims 2 Ultimate Collection then let the mod replace any files it wants inside there, but keep any others not replaced, you don’t need to do anything in your Program Files
There's no hard limit, it depends on your computer, the kind of CC you use and also measures you take to optimize it. Mods are usually small files that wouldn't cause lag, but you can run into conflict issues. You could have hundreds of recolors without issue, but high poly cc and hair cc are big files that can be a lot more demanding. I have this question: Is your UI and screensize also a mod? I can only play sims 2 in window mode and that bothers me a lot, all the missing screenspace at both sides

do you know if they made more turn-on and turn-off to put on your teenager when you create a teenage or when you have a baby and when it come to be a teenage?
So the number of turn on/offs doesn’t change, but any replaced mod will apply to any menu for choosing or changing turn on/offs so both in CAS and when a sim ages up to teenager
This is one of the few games that imo doesn't need mods with the number of families, neighbourhoods and content to work through (e.g. University)... It's already packed full with stuff to do. I don't think doing laundry is needed really 😂. I removed the censorship because it was annoying but apart from that most things can be done in game or via console commands.
@@H_Grunt mods are rarely about just adding new content. There are many buggy and sloppily done things in the game that many talented people work hard to fix and improve for free
@@BellaDovah I know all about mods madam I can assure you. I play a lot of Bethesda games and so far I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary with this game - nothing that requires 50+ mods. Maybe I'm just lucky. 😇
@@H_Grunt ha okay understandable, I also really like Skyrim but I check Nexus every day and see 100s of new mods so it always feels too overwhelming to actually start modding it!
@@BellaDovah Even with those games I don't go too crazy. Don't see the point in fussing over the texture of a rock or trying to turn the game into something it's not, e.g. 360 movement. I like playing as "not the Dragonborn" so anything that helps with that is a +, like alternate start. I play it like the Sims I guess same as every game 😆 it's all just RP. Anyway, as for the Sims 2 about the only thing that annoys me is stuff like Sims washing their dishes in the bathroom sink or if you get them to read the newspaper but then want them to do a crossword as well, they'll place it down on the floor after reading and pick it back up again for the crossword ugh. Little things like that. That can be solved by taking away free will but that's also slightly annoying. I wish there was a nice balanced version of free will because full free will is just pure frustration having to pause every 2 seconds and no free will means the Sim won't even go to the bathroom when they're desperate. 👀
Sorry for the late reply, but you just make a folder called Downloads in your Documents/EA Games/Sims 2 folder and put the package files in it. You have to be careful though as some mods will require the latest EPs and therefore won’t work on Macs
It depends, you need to follow the section of the documentation doc that tells you what textures are needed for what. If you want to use the medieval laundry items, then you need the required file containing the master texture, but you could just not put those items in your game at all and therefore wouldn’t need the requirements
i really wanna play sims 2 again but it stopped working on my laptop after my last windows reinstall :( idk why that can be bc it worked on windows 10 in the past

I am genuinely confused. I am providing all the links and a helpful description in a much clearer format than I’d be able to do in the youtube video description, which also has a character limit so I would not be able to fit anywhere close to all of the mods & links into it. You can’t officially buy it anymore, you’d only be able to buy the discs second hand from thrift stores. It depends, you need to follow the section of the documentation doc that tells you what textures are needed for what. If you want to use the medieval laundry items, then you need the required file containing the master texture, but you could just not put those items in your game at all and therefore wouldn’t need the requirements

I can’t really make it any easier. ‘That website’ is my brand new bespoke personal website I put a lot of time and effort into creating. I am providing all the links and a helpful description in a much clearer format than I’d be able to do in the youtube video description, which also has a character limit so I would not be able to fit anywhere close to all of the mods & links into it. Therefore, all of the additional information and related links will always be found in a related post link to my website from now on. Well it's a no brainer since Sims 2 + all the expansions are free and Sims 4 is just f2p, microtransaction hell. Same with Sims 3.
Does anyone know if there’s a way to extend the control panel? It really bugs me that I can’t view needs, relationships and skills at the same time even though there’s plenty of space on the screen to just display them all at the same time
