I remember waiting for this game after being a long time sim city 2000 and the sims fan. It was a huge leap from the sims to the sims 2. I even bought sim city to decorate and create my own custom neighborhood while waiting for the sims 2 to drop! Great memories! ✨🫶🏻

Hi there BellaDovah!! I just wanted to share how thankful I am for your mod on ModTheSims called "Community Lot Arrival Delay Fix" --- it worked absolutely wonderful for me! I've had issues with community lot loading times for months now without ever finding out why. It got to the point where I just couldn't be bothered to send my Sims out anymore and that turned my gameplay stale. I got sick of playing the "Who is cheating on who with who?!" game with the countless 'BOOOOIIIINGGGG' sound effects going off in the background as the lot was still loading. This mod, from what I have noticed, has also sped up my community lot loading times too! This mod is probably a must-have for me now and would never play without it. Thank you so much!!! c:

I've been currently setting up my own Pleasantview for rotational play and got one family moved in and must play though their first year before Any and Carol Pleasant arrive in the spring of 1601.It's my playthough of the origins of Pleasantview started from a terrain map and I'm having to both build my own lots and recreate the original Pleasantview family ancestors and move on couple in at a time and play each of them as I add them in.

I really appreciate this video!! I want to do a spreadsheet but I also only have one screen so I think I'm going to do a whole bullet journal setup for it instead. That way I can see it without leaving the game and I can decorate it lol

I can easily sort out all my teens, for example, or all my sims in the business career let's say. Highly recommend, at least once you start getting a lot of sims in your hood. Your take on the ACR adjuster is precisely the reason why I have stayed away from it. Watching other people play with it on yt and constantly have these weird overly sexual situations happen might be amusing. But for my personal gameplay, it would feel a bit like my sims got mind controlled 😂 Your solution to tone it down sounds really interesting though, and I'd love to learn more about that. Your thoughts on streaming matches mine exactly. I'm an introvert too, definitely, and streaming really feels like it would be both too stressful and draining. I get what you mean by wanting to avoid putting your sims into boxes, but most of the effects are so minor they’re just extra little details that can enhance their maxis personality rather than any drastic changes, and remember its all modular too, so if you only want 5 traits and just 3 mods for them and only a couple sims sometimes get one like with the social group objects, that’s absolutely fine! As far as I know, the only inspiration for Opening Valley literally comes from the opening cutscene. I’m sure a lot has been interpreted and imagined but actually if you closely look at the opening video, a lot is shown it just goes so fast its hard to notice until you take it frame by frame! I’m really glad you’re looking forward to the lets play! My spreadsheet looks like child’s play from what I’ve seen of yours during your LP, spanning multiple tabs! I love your idea of tracking who is sick, I should really do that so I stop inviting sick sims to parties and starting a plague😂 It really is fascinating how we all have such differences in our fairly similar ways of playing, we can all inspire each other and thats a beautiful thing. I go into a bit more detail on my zodiac mod but I use a couple of mods like Parenthood and Baby Personality that contribute to making the personality points not match the star sign so as well as maxis premades being all over the place with their personality-zodiac combinations it just all felt too random to me. In fact in your video I was watching today one of the sims was a Gemini like me and their personality was basically the exact opposite of what I think mine is lol! Adding filters is a great idea, thank you! Completely get you about ACR, if I hadn’t found out about how customisable it is, I’d have never installed it. I’m happy with how I have it, its quite realistic and subtle compared to other games I’ve seen. The only thing thats still a bit weird is how they’re like animals in heat if they go so long without woohoo and take every opportunity to autonomously do it if they do have a romantic partner. You can set this time cooldown but I think only 1-4 days so for me, every 3 days my sims gotta have it😂 you could turn off autonomous woohoo completely though I believe to avoid this but I do like to let my sims decide when they’re ready for that as its usually only romance sims roll the wants for it. But who knows, maybe sims needs are more animalistic🤣 I need to have a look through my file to remind myself of the tuning I did and make a video on it for sure. I’m glad its not just me that feels that way about streaming, it is nerve wracking. I really like that analogy for the content we create and when you put it like that, it makes total sense!
@@anachibi Hi Ana! The way I'm used to do it is by marking all cells in the top left corner of the sheet (or just the top row/the columns you want) and then hitting ctrl shift L . But there's a filter button on the ribbon you can use too. It looks a bit like a funnel.

That's my impression anyway 😊 But for me, I think they'd limit the way I look at my sims more than it would help. But I guess it's because I like observing them and interract with them as I play more than thinking too much about their traits. That social groups greeting object though: wow. I recently had a few teenage sports interested boys greet each other with a kiss kiss darling which, although hilarious, I'd love to be able to prevent. Oh wow what an incredible project then to recreate Opening Valley, only going by the intro video. Yeah there must have been a lot of creative freedom applied. And yeah, going frame by frame must have helped: but wow does that sound time consuming. Still: it sounds really cool! There's so many mods out there to discover, haha! Hahaha, well, that's just funny 😂 Sounds a bit like a horror movie to me, getting taken over by your animal needs once every third day. But yeah, sometimes mods are like that: we have to accept and work around some hurdles to get the things we want. If the rest of the mod is worth it, using it makes sense despite the compulsive woohoo. I'm glad ❤ Please don't feel pressured into streaming; just do it if it feels right. You make wonderful videos.

For me I need that structure and sim profile to get me going otherwise I don’t see sims as individually as I could do and can end up playing them all the same way, so the traits help me what that. I don’t know much about visitor controller because I don’t use it as it conflicts with some other mods I have, I just sometimes put it in temporarily if I want to have like a teen-only event or gay-only event or something. I wonder if you can ban the specific sims or if it would be possible to ban sick sims. I think there’s also like a mod object you can give sims in their inventory that stops them showing up on community lots as someone recommended it to give Bella in the clean Pleasantview that brings her back if you want to keep her missing. The sims 2 community is amazing, so glad I keep discovering more and more like you guys in TeaAddict’s. I have a discord of my own where we chat about Sims 2 and I share new & updated mods & CC that I find, you’re always welcome but no pressure. Baby personality makes personality more inherited from the parents, and also makes the number of points unlimited, so instead of having to be between 25-35 points, it can be anything 0-50. So theres much more variety. The personality no longer matches the star sign as the points are recalculated after a start sign is assigned, so for my newborns their star sign is a completely random factor. Parenthood tries to implement a version the character value from The Sims 4. Children & teens get chance cards when they’re at school (which I answer by trying to put myself in the shoes of their parents so its not just what I would do every time) and your answer to these builds up character value points which can be good or bad. Then when they grow up to an adult they get the ‘trait’ of the highest one like ‘responsible’ and that affects their personality points, I decided to make my own system for this and do it manually so I might do something like making them 1 point shyer and 1 point nicer or something. This just adds another way of simulating growth through childhood and how this affects you as an adult, similar to the encouragement system. I swear I could do hundreds of videos on mods lol. I hope my gameplay and future tutorial video can help you make a better informed decision whether ACR is something you’d be interested in adding to your game or not😊 Thank you so much❤️ So do you!
I just do everything the old-fashioned way. Mod-free. Basically, I will play a household, take some pictures in that household, insert the pictures into the family album and write out the story. Then, I may play another household, take some pictures, insert the pictures into the family album, and write out the story. Sometimes, I may even grab pictures from other family albums into the active family album. In this way, my neighborhood rotations are highly story-based, and that just means I just do the neighborhood rotations for story continuity. I make use of NPC aging often, because I want NPCs to age up as well.
I agree with you so much about ACR, and would really appreciate a video that discusses that if you have the time somewhere in the future. I have often stated that I don’t use it because it turns every sim into a romance sim. I’m no prude, but it just seems to take away a lot of the personal, individual differences between sims and have them behave sometimes in ways that are very out of character. I do know that settings can be changed, having watched Pleasantsims’ tutorial and a number of yt/twitch streams almost everyone uses it. At the moment I prefer Midge the Tree’s edit if Romantic Standards, coupled with Risky Woohoo. But I’d like to also use some sort of age-related fertility since there is no middle-age, and I use a custom aging system so it gets complicated. Knowing you can change ACR rather than having to set up ACR controllers every time, on every lot in every now hood and household (I’m a chronic re-starter) that is making it a much more attractive mod to me. It might be a challenge learning in simPE but I’m sure I could learn how if you can give some pointers. There is of course no rush or pressure in any of this, just if you would like to or have time one day it would be greatly appreciated. I do love all of your work. Your playstyle resonates with me.
You’re not the first person to say they’d be interested in a video about my ACR tuning! I completely agree with you, it can really override aspects of a sims personality but if you allow some time to finetune it in a way thats right for you its an awesome addition to give your sims some freedom and for some spontaneity. I also use Midge’s Romantic Standards and it works very well hand in hand with ACR! I’m definitely going to add it to my list of videos to do, I just need to refresh myself on how I did it and get my head back around it especially with the fertility curve, I remember spending at least a whole day very confused😂 but if I can make the resource that prevents others having to go through that then that would be quite special! Its not that its hard to do, it just required a lot of thought and some maths! But at least once you do it you shouldn’t have to do it again😊 Thank you so much, I really appreciate that🥰

I was planning on going into some detail about using that handy list and picking and choosing which traits you put in so you don’t have ones that don’t do anything so I might be able to offer a different perspective or additional details after all. Ah that's so great to hear! I'm glad you like my method :) I love Veronaville, I've actually just uploaded a the first part of my tour of Veronaville after I've been playing for 10 rotations. The reason you can't spot the TO adjuster is probably because I changed the model, its not a vase by default! The default model is like an orb on a stick. I think I might have also moved it to the misc misc section and lowered the price myself too, I seem to remember it costing about $200 and being in the decorative section, I think under sculptures. If you hop in my discord I can send you the file of my version if you like :)

Hey Bella, quick question about the clean hood/no townie regen mods! Will this affect NPCs spawned to operate things like bars in community lots? Or firemen/police officers etc? Or are those the only ones that will still generate?
Hey those NPCs will not be affected and will generate when needed. The mod anti-redundancy on MATY can keep your hood even cleaner at the cost of realism as it stops multiple of the same type of NPC being spawned, so you'll see the same cashiers and restaurant hosts at different lots instead of a different one for each. With only no townie regen and the clean hoods, the game will probably still generate more NPCs than it really needs!
@@BellaDovah Okay that's perfect, cause I definitely do still want those NPCs! In that case the only thing I'm a little unsure about is emptying the townies out of the holiday lots etc.; I don't want to turn Twiiki Island into a ghost town 😅
@@IveGotAMatch yeah I was really unsure about that too actually…but when I tested it it seemed fine, maybe new ones regenerate so it’s just a case of it not being the same old faces really, or maybe its just the locals and not tourists, either way I’m pretty sure it ends up not being a ghost town
A few years ago I created a list to find and track their age again, and then I turned it into a table, but I guess I may not have completely taken note of each family's age at the beginning of the game. I'm not sure. I don't want to reset the game recording, I've gone too far in families. Do you have a list that shows how many days families stay in days or how many days are older than each other? Or, you know a list that someone else created. I think I haven't played sims 2 in 2 years and now I'm afraid to open the game to avoid doing anything wrong, I'm afraid to disrupt the whole order. Can you help me or can you give an advice for that?🙏🏻🍀Especially Desiderata valley, Riverblossom Hills, Belladonna Cove, Downtown , College Towns, Bluewater Village. I've tried to find others in the beginning of the video and found some of them but I don't know much because they usually don't know much about these worlds but ofc if I find the age record of all the original worlds in The Sims 2 put it back into a list and play it, I'll enjoy it more and there won't be any confusion. Please help me with this.

I don’t find that at all because I play wants based, so some sim’s won’t focus on skills or career at all, I just do what they want to do and they all feel different, especially since I really get to know them by analysing their personality and interests and assigning traits that can give some added gameplay elements or variety

@@anachibi Hi Ana! The way I'm used to do it is by marking all cells in the top left corner of the sheet (or just the top row/the columns you want) and then hitting ctrl shift L . But there's a filter button on the ribbon you can use too. It looks a bit like a funnel.
@@BellaDovah I can totally see your point of view on the traits, and the way you use them makes a lot more sense to me than others I have seen use them. That's my impression anyway 😊 But for me, I think they'd limit the way I look at my sims more than it would help. But I guess it's because I like observing them and interract with them as I play more than thinking too much about their traits. That social groups greeting object though: wow. I recently had a few teenage sports interested boys greet each other with a kiss kiss darling which, although hilarious, I'd love to be able to prevent.
Oh wow what an incredible project then to recreate Opening Valley, only going by the intro video. Yeah there must have been a lot of creative freedom applied. And yeah, going frame by frame must have helped: but wow does that sound time consuming. Still: it sounds really cool! I guess that makes it sort of a fanfic hood, in a way 😂
Haha oh well, I have been using the spreadsheet playing for several sim weeks as the hood grew into what it is today: I'm sure yours will get added tabs etc in no time. When I just started this playthrough, it looked similar to yours, but with less columns. Haha yeah, that's a good point! The sickness can get a bit intense haha! Better keep it somewhat in check. But mostly, I find that sims infect each other in the background on community lots, lol. Not much one can do about that 😅
Yeah I agree, it's awesome to get an inside look at how someone else plays and get inspiration 🥰 The sims 2 community is really awesome at sharing stuff and being friendly, I've found.
Haha yeah, I don't mind that though, but I'd be very interested to learning more about how you work with it. I've never heard of the baby personality and parenthood mods before. There's so many mods out there to discover, haha!
Hahaha, well, that's just funny 😂 Sounds a bit like a horror movie to me, getting taken over by your animal needs once every third day. But yeah, sometimes mods are like that: we have to accept and work around some hurdles to get the things we want. If the rest of the mod is worth it, using it makes sense despite the compulsive woohoo.

@@AniBats through watching your gameplay I can see that you’re very creative and imaginative with interpreting things as they come along, so that makes total sense. For me I need that structure and sim profile to get me going otherwise I don’t see sims as individually as I could do and can end up playing them all the same way, so the traits help me what that. Thats very interesting to hear your spreadsheet started similarly to mine, I wonder how mine will grow then! Exciting stuff. Ohh youre right about the illness spreading on community lots that’s difficult to control. I don’t know much about visitor controller because I don’t use it as it conflicts with some other mods I have, I just sometimes put it in temporarily if I want to have like a teen-only event or gay-only event or something. I wonder if you can ban the specific sims or if it would be possible to ban sick sims. I think there’s also like a mod object you can give sims in their inventory that stops them showing up on community lots as someone recommended it to give Bella in the clean Pleasantview that brings her back if you want to keep her missing.
The sims 2 community is amazing, so glad I keep discovering more and more like you guys in TeaAddict’s. I have a discord of my own where we chat about Sims 2 and I share new & updated mods & CC that I find, you’re always welcome but no pressure.
Baby personality makes personality more inherited from the parents, and also makes the number of points unlimited, so instead of having to be between 25-35 points, it can be anything 0-50. So theres much more variety. The personality no longer matches the star sign as the points are recalculated after a start sign is assigned, so for my newborns their star sign is a completely random factor. Parenthood tries to implement a version the character value from The Sims 4. Children & teens get chance cards when they’re at school (which I answer by trying to put myself in the shoes of their parents so its not just what I would do every time) and your answer to these builds up character value points which can be good or bad. Then when they grow up to an adult they get the ‘trait’ of the highest one like ‘responsible’ and that affects their personality points, I decided to make my own system for this and do it manually so I might do something like making them 1 point shyer and 1 point nicer or something. This just adds another way of simulating growth through childhood and how this affects you as an adult, similar to the encouragement system. I swear I could do hundreds of videos on mods lol.

I just do everything the old-fashioned way. Mod-free.
Basically, I will play a household, take some pictures in that household, insert the pictures into the family album and write out the story. Then, I may play another household, take some pictures, insert the pictures into the family album, and write out the story. Sometimes, I may even grab pictures from other family albums into the active family album. In this way, my neighborhood rotations are highly story-based, and that just means I just do the neighborhood rotations for story continuity. I make use of NPC aging often, because I want NPCs to age up as well.

I agree with you so much about ACR, and would really appreciate a video that discusses that if you have the time somewhere in the future. I have often stated that I don’t use it because it turns every sim into a romance sim. I’m no prude, but it just seems to take away a lot of the personal, individual differences between sims and have them behave sometimes in ways that are very out of character. I do know that settings can be changed, having watched Pleasantsims’ tutorial and a number of yt/twitch streams almost everyone uses it. At the moment I prefer Midge the Tree’s edit if Romantic Standards, coupled with Risky Woohoo. But I’d like to also use some sort of age-related fertility since there is no middle-age, and I use a custom aging system so it gets complicated. Knowing you can change ACR rather than having to set up ACR controllers every time, on every lot in every now hood and household (I’m a chronic re-starter) that is making it a much more attractive mod to me. It might be a challenge learning in simPE but I’m sure I could learn how if you can give some pointers. There is of course no rush or pressure in any of this, just if you would like to or have time one day it would be greatly appreciated.

You’re not the first person to say they’d be interested in a video about my ACR tuning! I completely agree with you, it can really override aspects of a sims personality but if you allow some time to finetune it in a way thats right for you its an awesome addition to give your sims some freedom and for some spontaneity. I also use Midge’s Romantic Standards and it works very well hand in hand with ACR! I’m definitely going to add it to my list of videos to do, I just need to refresh myself on how I did it and get my head back around it especially with the fertility curve, I remember spending at least a whole day very confused😂 but if I can make the resource that prevents others having to go through that then that would be quite special! Its not that its hard to do, it just required a lot of thought and some maths! But at least once you do it you shouldn’t have to do it again😊 Thank you so much, I really appreciate that🥰

I was planning on going into some detail about using that handy list and picking and choosing which traits you put in so you don’t have ones that don’t do anything so I might be able to offer a different perspective or additional details after all. Ah that's so great to hear! I'm glad you like my method :) I love Veronaville, I've actually just uploaded a the first part of my tour of Veronaville after I've been playing for 10 rotations.
The reason you can't spot the TO adjuster is probably because I changed the model, its not a vase by default! The default model is like an orb on a stick. I think I might have also moved it to the misc misc section and lowered the price myself too, I seem to remember it costing about $200 and being in the decorative section, I think under sculptures. If you hop in my discord I can send you the file of my version if you like :)

Hey Bella, quick question about the clean hood/no townie regen mods! Will this affect NPCs spawned to operate things like bars in community lots? Or firemen/police officers etc? Or are those the only ones that will still generate?
Hey those NPCs will not be affected and will generate when needed. The mod anti-redundancy on MATY can keep your hood even cleaner at the cost of realism as it stops multiple of the same type of NPC being spawned, so you'll see the same cashiers and restaurant hosts at different lots instead of a different one for each. With only no townie regen and the clean hoods, the game will probably still generate more NPCs than it really needs!
@@BellaDovah Okay that's perfect, cause I definitely do still want those NPCs! In that case the only thing I'm a little unsure about is emptying the townies out of the holiday lots etc.; I don't want to turn Twiiki Island into a ghost town 😅
@@IveGotAMatch yeah I was really unsure about that too actually…but when I tested it it seemed fine, maybe new ones regenerate so it’s just a case of it not being the same old faces really, or maybe its just the locals and not tourists, either way I’m pretty sure it ends up not being a ghost town
A few years ago I created a list to find and track their age again, and then I turned it into a table, but I guess I may not have completely taken note of each family's age at the beginning of the game. I'm not sure. I don't want to reset the game recording, I've gone too far in families. Do you have a list that shows how many days families stay in days or how many days are older than each other? Or, you know a list that someone else created. I think I haven't played sims 2 in 2 years and now I'm afraid to open the game to avoid doing anything wrong, I'm afraid to disrupt the whole order. Can you help me or can you give an advice for that?🙏🏻🍀Especially Desiderata valley, Riverblossom Hills, Belladonna Cove, Downtown , College Towns, Bluewater Village. I've tried to find others in the beginning of the video and found some of them but I don't know much because they usually don't know much about these worlds but ofc if I find the age record of all the original worlds in The Sims 2 put it back into a list and play it, I'll enjoy it more and there won't be any confusion. I downloadedd your turn ons and turn offs adjuster but I can't get it to show up in game any idea what I'm doing wrong? I have it in my main downloads folder and looked in Misc/Misc for it but it isn't there
I edited it to make it a vase and to put it in the misc misc category, the original version is an orb on a stick and I think found in the sculptures category

I have a problem with all families feeling similar and it gets so boring :( just building skills and making them be good at their job gets boring
I don’t find that at all because I play wants based, so some sim’s won’t focus on skills or career at all, I just do what they want to do and they all feel different, especially since I really get to know them by analysing their personality and interests and assigning traits that can give some added gameplay elements or variety
