What a handy guide! My CC folder is a mess so this will be really helpful haha.
By the way, pro tip! In 18:40 , when entering a new category value in SimPe in the property set, you can just type in the number you need and the program will automatically fill all the 0x0s needed. So let's say you need to enter 0x00000020 for it to appear only in the formal category. You can just select all the text in the Value box by double clicking, type in "20" (without the quotation marks) and as soon as you click Commit, it will automatically correct itself to 0x00000020. Very useful when you want to recategorize a bunch of swatches. And it also works in other value text boxes, autocorrecting itself. Not all of them, but it's worth a try checking if it works :D

For those who can't use Any Game Starter I recommend making a second sims 2 folder for testing. It's very easy and safe. Just right click your sims 2 folder and add a word into the end of it. Do not delete any words, just add a word like 'Old' onto the end. Load your game and it will make you a fresh vanilla folder. The game only reads the correctly named folder- and exactly what that is will depend on your game set up. I am on disks so the correct name for my set up is simply 'The Sims 2'. On the UC depending if it from Origin or somewhere else your name will differ.
You can have as many sims 2 folders each with their own download folders as your pc can handle. I have a modern folder, a medieval folder, building folder, testing folder and a cc making folder. You just have to rename folders and the one you want to load must have the proper vanilla name it came with.

Interesting. I never merge my CC since sometimes I like to delete recolors in game after I've played a while and figured out what I don't use. Renaming packages to get rid of spaces and special characters REALLY helps though! I sorta skimmed, but did you use Bulk Rename Utility? It can do hundreds of files in seconds! It's amazing. I don't think dashes count as special characters, but ! definitely does so I would recommend just using A when you want a folder to show up at the top (or Z for the bottom). I have several gb of CC in my regular game and it only takes about 5 minutes to load. :D

Oh, how do you keep notes of the clothes you'd like? For hair I can use the mirror to look at their names, but I didn't know about clothes.
Yeah its annoying that the clothes don’t show a name. I usually just put in clothes from one creator at a time and then either jot down a description of what they look like like ‘pink frilly top’ or something haha or have the creators site open so I can see what the name is by comparison
Is it safe to delete clothes and hair swatches from in game
It’s ‘safe’ but not recommended because you can easily end up with a mess of files, e.g. if you deleted all the swatches from in-game, you’d still have a mesh file in your folders that you don’t need so its a waste of space, you could also end up deleting a swatch that another swatch was repositoried to like a teen version for example and then that teen swatch would break, also I think if you have merged swatches together or swatches and the mesh together, deleting in game would cause problems like deleting the whole merged file, so while its not gonna corrupt your game or anything, its much better to manage your files within your folders rather than in-game
