Perfectly cooked! Damo is beautiful and so much fun to watch! You are such a precious couple!
Like you i did not believe it would be cooked absolutely no way ,but it was cooked perfectly that just amazed me it really did . just goes to show us sometimes the old ways are the best. As always interested and informative and entertaining. Pembrokeshire west wales UK
My father used to do this all the time. Yes, he used beer, not water. And the reason it burned because you put the oyster sauce on it.
Your a lucky man ryan damo 1 in million.from perth western australia cheers
I like to think 2 in a million. I married a Buriram girl 36 years ago and she's the cornerstone of our family.
3 in that million. I married a girl an Issan girl she managed a hotel and came back to Perth an 15 years later still doing all the housework because she wants to make a home for us.
Brilliant so funny when you cooked the chickens in hay gonna have to try it 😂 thanks for sharing ❤️🏴x
Awesome! Watching from San Antonio, TX, USA. Been following your UTube for the last two years. You have such a lovely family Ryan and Demo. I am originally from Ubon, Thailand and have lived and worked for the Federal government since 1972 and completely retired in March 2010. Have been enjoying my retirement and been traveling to Thailand and Europe with my husband every other years. Will visit Thailand again for 3 months mid October 2925. I love your cottage and the way of life you live; simple but very happy family.
Hi Ryan & Mo. Very good vlog. Me & Na my Thai wife really enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work & enjoy what you have. Tony & Na. Manchester UK. 😎🙏🙏
Korea- The chickens here are tiny, like sparrows. Typically only 1Kg but at the absolute maximum 1.7kg. A typical UK supermarket chicken is 2kg. Those you cooked were baby ostriches, surely.
California USA- started watching when you were leaving quarantine to see Otis for the first time and I was going in to pick up my step daughter and bring her back. 🙏
in australia is called beer can chicken its great
Watching from Wageningen , The Netherlands. I must try this when we're over in Lahan Sai. I bet my mother-in-law knows how to do this. Enjoying all your videos. Learning so much about every day life in rural Thailand. Big thanks , love from Holland
In Chai Nat, Lop Buri, Klong Lan (back in the1980's), my relatives didn't have running water all over the house. They would was the clothes by hand and dry them by air dry. Young women relatives or house maids would do this chore by a water spigot if they had running water. I learned to launder my own clothes when I was 13 when my family was falling apart, and I had an outdoor manual labor job. Now in San Diego, I sometimes wash and dry/iron my own clothes in the shower for convenience.
''Some beer stuck in a chicken's arse or something...'' I nearly spat out my wine laughing!!!
Great video. I was laughing. When you say you would give Damo 1,000 baht if chicken was not cooked, I knew you would be 1,000 baht poorer. I was skeptical too. I have been in Thailand for a short time. But, I have learned that many ways of doing things in Thailand are so counterintuitive to the way we do things in the west. When in Thailand, bet with Thai. Cheers. Korat
We do this in the US, turkey on a 3 prong spike , put a burned out metal garbage over the bird, charcoal around the outside bottom and on top. 20lb turkey is done in3-3 1/2 hours.
What a fun video, Damo so cute learning tricks from Yai ❤
Hi I am from Malaysia n love watching your channel n I have learnt a lot of things from your channel.Thank you for sharing.Have a blessed day.
Watching from Vancouver BC Canada, spend every winter in Chiang Mai area , all summer's in Canada.
Learn something new every day.
Good Video, dude in the hat :)
Love the outdoor oven! Alabama, USA
Nice work fam! Very entertaining. I was with you Ryan, I was thinking there's no way that chook would cook with a little grass fire like that, considering it takes like 45 mins or something in a conventional oven...but there ya go, we all learned something new! Already subbed for a while, so give the goodies to someone new..🤘🙏
Fun funny episode guys. I am from USA as you recall, The 7-11 toasties were popular here in Pattaya 10 years ago and more so now. I've seen groups of Chinese tourists eating many foods from 7-11, sometimes eating inside while talking among each other. Mortar and Pestle work is harder than it looks! 555 I think that buffalo was sad to see his food being burned! Hay, hay, hay Was skeptical myself, but the chicken was cooked. I was thinking maybe Damo had been drinking some of the Chang as well , she is high on life which is 1000% better. Happy to see Yaai and Hugo for a moment. Thank you and Peace and Love Y'all
Cheers brother 👍
Dude you won the lottery.
Looks delicious 😋 love the videos. You have a beautiful family and life, from the UK ❤

Hi Ryan really love watching your Wee Family and your extended Family can’t wait to see finished Building. I am from NewZealand. Take Care. 💜🦋
Been watching a few of your videos of late and really enjoy the content. I live in Chiang Rai, however my wife is from Sisaket and when we visit her family there, it's very similar to your life in Burial. I have been in Thailand now for 13 going on 14 years, b ut my thai is no where near as good as yours. Well done and good to see all you are doing. Harry
Nice work 😊 we are from Uk near London and Chaloem Pra Giat Tapek
Now we like u guys even more, the Fela Kuti soundtrack is awesome.
Greetings from Munich, we are a Thai Chi family, looking forward Buriram in August; hope to buy some chickens from you when we are there.
Hi Ryan and damo, at first I was like Ryan is right, that's not gonna be fully cooked but that was surprisingly properly cooked. I've been your subscriber from the time Otis was very small. Following you from Delhi, India. Cheers ❤
So lovely video,to see you involve the family, and good laughing, and good cooking ❤❤😅😅😅😅😅
I would like to see y’all try it again, but next time only use salt on the outside. I’m pretty sure the burning look came from whatever sugar is in the sauce and the pepper.
Love y’all’s videos!😎
There is something nice and relaxing watching these videos . I think it’s the way you have carved out a beautiful life for yourself with a lovely family and capture the rhythm of country life. I like the good humoured, hardworking people and I like your choice of music. Congrats man , you have won the game of life.
Beer can/bottle chicken is the best. You can try tinfoil (aluminum) on the chicken to help keep the skin from getting a char.
Hi Ryan & Mo i enjoy your day to day life, Vancouver BC
Canada here……My wife and I love watching you guys
Loved this video , I was amazed how fast that chicken cooked lol
I’m watching from Northern Ireland x
We follow your channel from the Netherlands for almost 1 year now. My wife comes from Buriram, bandan district. Our house is also located there. Unfortunately we can visit it only 1 time a year. Your channel makes us happy to see the Thailand we love and miss. It feels real familiar.
It's cute how they tested each other's strength (digging part)..😅😅😅😅
Unusual way of cooking. Interesting. I love village life, unfortunately my husband can't do it. I'm a south east Asian living in UK and I've watched your channel since covid. Love your videos😊
Hahahaha. 'Master Chef'...😂😇. The tin is too thin, need to put tiles around the tin. Still it's a good try. Aussie, here. 👍❤️😇

From Palmetto Florida and love your channel. Stay eternal, brother.
Great video very funny I would have lost a thousand baht aswell. I will be trying this myself the chicken looked really good. The mushrooms are a good idea I grow them myself.
Just a suggestion try slicing the mushroom into slices and dry frying it and then refying it in butter and eating them as an snack, very nice.
Watching from Florida! Love your channels.
Ryan, this was a really fun video, thank you
agreed, its cool how these kinds of projects involve the different family, friends, and townsfolk...

Another great vid. Big fan from Seattle, Thanks
Great video guys would love to try and cook a chicken like that in my backyard but I think the Fire Brigade would be knocking on the door asking "Do you have a permit for that fire?" 😜 Take care guys. Gavin from Sydney Australia.
Spot on about the 7/11 toastie 🥪😂😂
lol
Enjoy watching you guys. I'm from Chorley Lancashire and now living in Chiang Mai for the last 2 years.

Interesting way to cook a chicken. 👍👍Watching from the Philippines. 💖💖
that was a fun one. using beer does make it good too. Cheers from Canada
20:21 Brilliant! Not sure once would be enough? I would be happier with twice. I work on the asumption that if itsunder done you can always cook it longer but if you over cook it you are fooked!
The Moral of the story is Always listen to Grandma😅😅😅😅
Your cooking videos are the best entertainment ever 😂😂😂😂thank you
