I’ve been married to a Thai for 19 years , the first 17 years together in Australia , then my wife wanted to return to her village and extended family , so we built a house , the current situation , is for me 6 months Thailand 6 months Australia ,when I think about it , my wife was always going to end up , back in her village ,

Since I first watched you years ago when you had very few subscribers I knew then that Damo was different in the sense that there are vloggers based in Thailand who have their wives/girlfriends BUT they are at times like trophy pieces ..however Damo was reserved most times but if you looked closely you could see that she was pretty fluent in English. I’m glad that Damo came out of the shell and became more interactive and she’s dedicated to her kids and has also helped this channel grow.

This is a good presentation. seems to me that it is a reset in your life journey, a self assessment of the footsteps that have led you to this point. You mentioned best friends, of course, your partner has to be to be successful. Friends outside of your family will always be minimal. I myself have lived your journey on so many levels, even the Mazda 2 lol, best car ever, we also had a break in Koh Chang. I’m an old man but I teared up with your wife when you first left to go on this trip and already missing the children ❤️. You guys need this break away from time to time and it’s also good for Yai to have time one on one with the children, it’ll be easier next time to make the break though I’m betting the kids will be with you 😉. The way you speak about younger, when you first met Damo and yourself is very similar to my current experience with my partner. So much so that the day after we met we went into the moutains to do some charity work with a school. I'm not in my crazy drinking and partying stage yet. But I think we're skipping that one and going straight for the calm and tame parent period next(hopefully). I'm about the same age as you guys, and it's a bit parasocial, but the way you present yourselves on your channel is an image of how I want my life to be with my partner. Wish you guys the best.

This rang true for me, as my serious relationship in Indonesia travelled a very similar path. 4 years in and my wife and i are inseparable. Sometimes we just need to self reflect in a relationship, listen and have understanding. If you truly love someone, nothing is impossible. Especially if your both pulling in the same direction.

Ryan and Damo, you Guys ae a lovely couple. Thanks for sharing and the honesty. I live on my farm in Prachinburi. We raise chickens and catfish. I plant 3 fruit trees every year. I have been here 23 years, love it. My wife is 43 and I'm 73. She worked at an AM PM and only knew how to say yes and smile. I am a retired Police Officer, so we have a few bucks we van live quite comfortably. We have a lovely daughter named Lillie who is 10 years old now. Love the entire family and they really treat me like a son. Keep up the posts you are inspiring.

If you leave it to damo she'd never step out of the farm and the village so after every few years you should take the initiative to do this 👍. Damo is such a lovely and intelligent person. My Thai wife and I also met online, married 15 years now, she was also very shy of being seen with me in Thailand to begin. Living in the UK is very different for her. Shame that 90% of people think all Thai women are bar girls, just not true! My wife is a Rice farmers daughter from up in the mountains. “Real” Thailand is very, very different to the touristy areas. Great vlog, very interesting to hear your stories. 🙏

You made a comment about one "changing" and that is a word in relationships I think is incorrect. Yes there are people who try to "change" others from who they are into being someone else who they think they want, (I know this is not what you were inferring) but I prefer to say, allowing a person to "grow" in their life and their relationships. I have seen my wife continue to grow in our 6.5 years together and watching her achieve her personal growth has filled me with great love and respect for her and it grow's everyday! I also have continued to grow with her beside me and am nearly 70.
My wife, when are out in public together also does not display any form of intimacy (e.g. holding hands etc.) , I think it is Thai culture not to, but at home and with family she is wonderful, I could not ask for anything more from her. In our time together, we have not argued once, we laugh a lot together with each other, not at each other. We are truly best friends as you and Mo have commented.
