Great update on the build guys. Stability and a self sustainable lifestyle is the way to go. You are doing well and improving the homestead as you grow. Hugo is like the little prince in his chariot being pulled by grandma 😅👍 Peace amd Love Y'all
Looks good. If you are worried about the rain coming in the wall side of the veranda, you can get expanding foam and then paint it to match. Easy to cut any excess off. Not sure if you can reach down from the top roof. You can put cling wrap on a flat piece of wood and lay across the top, maybe need a little weight. Then squeeze the foam from underneath, trim and paint. 👍❤️😇
Wowwww- the place is looking more & more beautiful every time you post your video Ryan! Love seeing baby Hugo & Tis….not to mention Damo! Thanks for sharing this wonderful video 😊
Always a joy to watch your house build. I used a lot of your advice on your cottage build on my own house build in buriram. I really could use your pie supplier as i am really battling getting none sugary pies here in thailand.
@shellswalkabout thank you very much, I will definitely have a look out for those. Thais like to eat everything fresh, so at least those will help add some few things in my empty freezer. 555
Thank you again Ryan for sharing these little snapshots and intimate parts of your family life in RTh. Otis is turning out to be such a beautiful boy and seeing the moments you share together at the end is really heart warming stuff - reminded me very much of my own childhood of playing with army toys and battles and who could shoot who and why ... seeing Otis' mind working and problem solving while at play is just lovely. Perhaps this is a strong contributing factor of why you come across as very calm and at ease. From someone who suffers with anxiety, it is a lovely antidote to witness. Thank you again.
Hi guy's ❤ that new oven will do amazing dehydrated foods. Fruits and tomatoes etc. Beef jerky, (lean red meat with no fat), goat and we use kangaroo legs, 80 to 100° celcius for 7 hours, after being marinated overnight in chilli, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, etc. Use your racks when dehydrating. Cakes, bread, pizza, homemade fruit pies and leftovers meat pies. Jerky lasts forever and baked goods can be frozen. A portable little gem with hardly any power consumption. Must take the Styrofoam out from under it and use a wood bread board or simular to block heat. ❤ xxoo
I’m new to the channel… Just wanted to say I’m enjoying the content. I really like your choice of tile inside and outside the house… Also, I’m happy to see your roof installer’s are putting the fasteners at the top of the ridges, and not in the valleys…well done ☑️

I am also convinced that they are blessed, having you as a husband and dad. Please, never take it for granted. Your boys are still developing. Damo in contrast is a woman in her own right. She is a goddess mate. Love her, love yourself and count your blessings. You have the core of such an amazing life. I would give EVERYTHING to have what you have. Cherish it...please!!!!
Looking good despite the odd hiccup One thing I found in Thailand is that no one seems to remove stickers be that a coffee cup or a bathroom sink, when going over first fit on my house everything had stickers on PS you can get both Hollands, pukka and Iceland pies on Lazada delivered frozen as well as local producers
Great vid mate, one thing I would of done was get the guy’s to put some silicone on the back edge of the clear roof panels. When that rain comes, it will come straight down your walls and ruin them. Had a patio done here, rain pissing though, needs redoing. Easy jobs turn houses into nightmares. Yours is looking very nice and I hope everyone is happy. That’s the main thing. 👍
Looking good. Are you going to line your concrete planters so the concrete doesn't change the PH of the soil or leach? Hey indoor kitchen, getting fancy. Or plant processing station, would be a good place to preserve food with all that storage. You could always put a flashing strip to stop the leaks. The amount of mortar under those tiles is mind blowing, Thai style, she'll be right, sort the level later
I did the same to my wife's Thai bungalow. Removed 6 windows and left 2. Now have room for art, tv and will keep cooler since I added air and insulation in the walls. Now she likes it . Hehe
❤️👍🏼Looking good! My Grandson ❤ed Prehistorical Animals. Yes you have made the right decision staying in Thailand.Europe is a mess. Have a great week. 💞💞💞💞
Add insulation to the attic as is a good idea if your roof is making noises at night and it’s keeping you up. It’s also a good option for those who need to control the temperature to solve the issue. Good insulation will ensure that heated or cooled air won’t escape the attic through the roof, keeping the temperature more stable and stopping the wood from contracting at night. This will have other benefits, too, such as keeping your energy bills down when you need to heat or cool your home. A lot of the time, this should be enough to stop the roof from creaking and popping. Inspecting your roof if you need to do repairs to your roof, you’ll need to inspect it first to find out what exactly you’ll need to do. Regular inspections are always a good idea, as these will help you pick up on issues before they become bigger problems. Typically, you should inspect your roof twice a year. You can start by standing outside to look at your roof from the ground. You should be able to see any visible damage from here, although you can use binoculars to get a closer look. Once you’ve taken a look outside, you’ll be able to take a look from the inside too. Go up into your attic, and take note of any issues you see here. For example, if you can see sunlight through the roof, that’s a sign that a shingle has come loose. If you can see condensation, then you’ll need to fix the ventilation. Doing these inspections regularly will ensure that all problems are found quickly and fixed before they get worse. That means that you’ll avoid larger repair jobs and save a lot of money in the process.
Ryan you’re such a good dad! Tis is a perfect blend of you and Damo. Hugo is his own person like most 2nd children🤣. It’s fun watching the boys grow. I almost feel I know them😉❤️
I love how you do a lot of local it really helps the community wow the food looks amazing delicious yes Tis is really growing and Hugo ! Its a joy watching them grow thank you and Damo ! Your very family oriented I love that and love seeing your ideas! And growth!! It makes my day!!
Interesting rooftop, I find it really smart move, love it😍💯 And the wall, I truely love the design. Aslo I have a little worried about the sound in the room, is it not gonna have the problem when it comes to the recording?
Ryan, have you considered a small covered walkway to get from the kitchen/new rooms to the cottage without getting wet? You're diverting a lot of rain to the corner between the two buildings. It might be nice to have a walkway that is raised a bit higher than the ground.
I have a place in Southern Arizona. Cactus heaven. We have 10 meter cacti. The soil is sandy the key is drainage has to be excellent. We have “monsoon” also in the summers. Your setup should be fine. I do notice the cactus do grow larger with rain vs just watering. Your build is looking good! ps - don’t paint stainless steel ; )
Not sure if you noticed, and if not I apologize for “making you see it” as you will probably then not be able to “unsee it” but 1 of the sheets of tiles near you sink has been laid upside down! Other than that it’s looking good mate
You could put a big sign on the back wall saying Google the window of the world = should bring enough light into the room especially if the sign is in neon lights ,
The clear roof is fine , you can put cabana umbrellas under it if you want , plus it's easy enough to change in the future if you want , part that concerns me is they may get cloudy after a while forcing you to replace them sooner then you expect
Maybe UV resistant, but the valleys will need to be cleaned often. I have similar in my greenhouse. I wondered why he didn't get full length insted of the short pieces.
Stainless Steel sink and tiled splash back. With the shelves all along and upto the ceiling. It's got to be a plant orientated area. I reckon. You're going to sell Cactus or something?? 😅
Hi there, I left the UK in 2004 and set up home in Taiwan, where I've remained ever since. I met my wife in the UK, she was studying her master degree in Northern Ireland at the magee university of ulster. I don't miss the UK but miss some of the food I enjoyed, miss the Cornish pasties from Gregg's the bakers 😀. In 2013, construction began on our Taiwanese mansion, and we eventually moved in November 2015. I'd never return to the UK. I have been growing mangoes 🥭 in our garden area as I planted a tree some 5 years ago, it really gives us a bumper crop every season. Occasionally I'll grow tomatoes 🍅 too. Weatherwise here is awesome all year round, can't get my head around the earthquakes and typhoons though. Currently we've seen temperatures touching 38C but is been hovering around 34/36C nowadays. 2009 my wife gave birth to our only child a girl we named Naomi who is 15yrs old now. Love your channel, great job, brother.
Having done my exterior doors the Thai way of swing out like yours, I find it is hard to fit screens. I really wished I had them open in so I could put removable metal screens on the outside. I have the fabric screens that connect in the middle with magnets (sold on Lazada) on the inside and they work well but are not an exact fit due to the fact I have hopper windows just above. Not sure why Thai's still mostly use exterior doors swing out. One of the reasons in bygone days was it was harder to break into an out swing door.
Yes I see now, it will be a building to grow plants and maybe mushrooms, so it can be dark. You know San Pedro cactus is toxic to dogs, don't you. Anyway, it looks good 👍
I would worry that with the tropical temps the clear roof could generate mold and other nasty stuff. That said, your design style is amazing, creative and innovative.
I don't know what function your rooms are going to be used as, but it could be a good place for selling. growing our mushrooms and other items. Small business premises for mail order.

Curious as to why there is so much concrete going under the floor tiles (appears to be 3” thick) inside and out. Is the floor even level afterwards? I live in Canada and that is not normal here. I am sure there is a reason why this is done that way.

Did you consider just glass panels for the roof? The sun will brreak down that plastic FAST i think. Not to mention the microplastics
like the look of the roof, only questions are hailstorms and how long it lasts under the sun. have no interest in cactus personally

Regarding San Pedro's, does mescaline make you vomit? Is there a way to minimize the side effects?
I can’t tell if they’re using grommets on the fixing screws because it will leak at those points if not sea.
