@@TheSynthPunk Yeah, they got pretty thoroughly screwed by Tzeentch from square zero. Most of them weren't even particularly interested in the Warp beyond immediate applicability, and they got turned into Rubrics for their sanity.

@@TheSynthPunk The biggest issue is that Tzeentch owns their collective souls, barring, perhaps, Ahriman, at this point, and Tzeentch, despite his title, does not tend to change his own ways. Besides, this is 40K, when does anything even marginally sensible ever happen?

The Dropsite Massacre was actually at Istvaan V and the event you reference where 1/3 of the space marines were purged was called the Istvaan Atrocity and correctly on Istvaan III
I got one from the freaking Word Bearers: Barthusa Narek. Here's the thing about him: unlike most instances, he kept his loyalty to the Emperor a secret, but someone must have ratted him out, cause his former brothers knew all along, but waited for the right moment to betray him. What does he do? He calls the legion out for their BS, gives a James Bond-like one liner, and kills the Possessed Marines with a pair of guns. Unfortunately, although Narek is loyal to the Emperor, he isn't a paragon in the mold of Garro or Loken. He wants Lorgar dead, but is willing to risk collateral damage and questionable means to achieve it.
Rylanor is such a badass.

You can get 30k models, so why not? You do need to get some fancy bits though
Death Eagles are a likely loyal EC that exists in current time so its not really a stretch to homebrew loyalist versions of Trators in lore probably with the exception of the Thousand Sons.

Which one? The one 40k theories made or the one by Bolter and Chainsword? I hoped the 40k theories one was Cannon it’s far more enjoyable as the og loyalists were less human then the traitors but now you have the more inhuman primarchs falling to chaos. They would make much better villains then the traitors. And it makes my favorite primarch Magnus die in such a badass way.

I have been listening to the audiobooks for the first few horus heresy novels when I drive to work in the mornings and I have been loving it! I have 3 warhammer fantasy novels and 2 age of sigmar armies so I have never been super into 40k lore but I gotta say, I see why it was so much more popular than other warhammer worlds. The grim dark is just so good!
I've been hooked since I started dating my now husband in 99, he worked at a GW store so plenty of good times.
I like to think the Greek boys (Minotaurs) are hybrids of World Eaters and Iron Warriors.

@@venerablebrothergoriate5844 The Minotaurs earned my respect when they slaughtered the few high lords who tried to rebel against Gulliman, waiting patiently the whole time for the order to execute the traitors, while pretending to be on their side. The chapter master personally executed the traitor high lords on broadcast for all of Terra to see what happens to traitors, then just shut off the feed when he was done with them. That must have been very satisfying after being the lap dogs of said high lords for far too long, getting to finally put a few of them in their place in the form of a glorious overkill in front of every citizen on Terra. They can now be put to better use for the imperium.
Buddy, you forgot a KEY Luna Wolf, Iacton Qruze...one who helped Euphrati Keeler and her friends escape from the Vengeful Spirit to the Eisenstein, during the Istvaan 3 Atrocity. He's also the second loyalist traitor, next to Garro, to become a Knight Errant of Malcador, but later on dies at the hands of Horus, when an assassination attempt goes horribly wrong
All this Loyalist from Traitor Legions and no mention to loyal OldMan Dantioch from the Iron Warriors that blow up the thing that lead to the Tyranids coming to the Galaxy.

I think the Blood Ravens are the most Notable Second Founding Loyalist Chapter descended from a Traitor Legion, the Thousand Sons.
How to create a loyalist chapter from death guard gene seed. Step 1, give to Krieg. Step 2, profit. Due to the way they follow the cult of sacrifice they could even be told they are death guard and the shame of their ancestors would compel them to fight even harder than the average death corps soldiers plus they would have a massive grudge against the traitor death guard

I hate what Fulgrim became. I love what Rylanor represents. It really shows both sides of the coin. How pride can lift us up and cast us down.
I'm reading Horus Heresy series (first ten books right now I think) and Flight of the Eisenstein is my favourite right now. Garro is biggest badass in my eyes with Garviel Loken in close second.

I'd question that Minotaurs are pure Iron Warriors. Original Minotaurs were World Eaters, and the current ones seem to be actually both World Eaters and Iron Warriors.

I have thought that the main reason for ol Bob Gull not using traitor geneseed is that he kinda realises that the primaris are borderline heresy to begin with (messing with the emps creations). To re-introduce those who have turned would have been too much for the inquisition to tolerate. Though we all still suspect that mr Cawl might have just ignored him there.

He probably went into the laer temple but was insulated because he was a dreadnought. Lucious got sent to the planet. He was never in the snake temple because he was with Saul on planet Murder during the Laer campaign plus he hadnt even gotten the augments from Fabius.
Granted he's nuts, but I remember Kaldor Draigo implied that Janus died in Text to Speech. Or maybe everyone just thinks he's dead?

Pretty sure if the Grey Knights find Janus and learn the truth they’ll all just jump off a cliff since they are super loyal. Like they would destroy every legacy of the traitors including themselves because they’re just that stupid and think every son of a traitor is still a traitor. Pretty sure that’s why Janus hasn’t revealed himself. He’ll doom himself and his order if the inquisition finds out the true origin of the grey knights.

Who was the Chad of an Iron Warrior that waited for the rest of his legion to show up to the fortress he was guarding and, as they were invading, teleported out of a backdoor and commandeered the traitors' ship while simultaneously detonating the invading force in a massive self-destruct sequence?
Barabas Dantioch and this triumph is kind of overshadowed by the fact he unintentionally caused the Tyranid incursion by overloading the Pharos beacon in the Pharos novel.

Nathaniel Garro would've killed Garviel Loken if not for Macer Varren. Loken was pretty much a feral killing machine that almost killed Garro and his retinue, it took Varren seeing a warrior's spirit in Loken to talk Garro down from killing him. The World Eaters were a legion of psychotic, bloodthirsty killers - but they don't ALWAYS kill needlessly (just 99.999999999% of the time)
Compared to how following the Primarch is "hardcoded" into Space Marines, 1/3 of the legion not following is a lot. You would expect a much lower number. This is like getting a bunch of heavy drug addicts, telling them their drug is bad, and 1/3rd of them standing up, cursing the drug and fighting against it for the rest of their lives in Power Armor.
Even in the army, how often do you find a soldier refusing an order? An army of super soldiers, who are greatly bonded genetically to their father, super loyal, brainwashed to follow orders, actually refuse all their superiors orders, their gene father, their whole life's purpose, to do the thing, that is the right morally.

A small correction Garro was not offered a place in the Grey Knights Malcador gave Garro his full authority and told him to go find his own destiny so probery go bring the rape train down on the traitors

I really like Saul Tarvitz, but his rules for tabletop are just incredibly bad, he is rather expensive and he is a master of the legion so I never use him.

Janus's gene-seed was later used to create the Blood Ravens. That would explain their connections in the Grey Knights, and why they are immune to the flesh change.
