He must have also suffered physical damage and psychic backlash when he used up all his power (he even had to borrow from Tzeentch too) to break the Emperors wards on Terra, the knowledge of the future that could have been if the Emperor didn't hide information from him also affected his mental state. So he was at his weakest state during the burning of Prospero.
I remember hearing a theory about Perturabo which was about him becoming more and more Steel than man. Either because he kept replacing limbs with iron to become stronger, or to avoid demonic corruption, or just because he could. Over ten thousand years he had replaced so much of his body he could no longer be perceived as anything else than a demonic entity, because he was no longer human. Tbh that feels so much more like Perty. He's still the same know it all inventor, but his malice and loathing to become better than Dorn has made him continuously upgrade and improve himself until he's a cold war machine which fights just to see the fists burn. Plus, fuck chaos
I could see Perty sitting in the Forge of Souls with Vashtorr. Turning himself into Soulgrinder Primarch / walking Fortress, so Dorn can Siege his Nutz.
You know, it would be funny if it was the naughty Primarchs, probably Magnus, who finds all of Vulkan's artifacts just so he could try to corrupt the father of the Salamanders and instead gets his back broken again in a hug from his dear brother.
What if the plot twist is that Vulkan’s Artifacts are actually enclosures made up of Ferrus Manus’ soul shards used to house Magnus’ good soul shards? Collecting them all actually redeems Magnus AND resurrects Ferrus Manus as they fuse into a single Primarch that can craft warp-wielding Titans that can combine into larger Titans. Ferrus Magnus Supreme.
Corvus Corax literally managed to go full daemon primarch without any chaos gods intervening. So doesn't that basically make him a lesser god at this point?
MajorKill has suggested in the past that part of what the Emperor stole from the warp were basically minor Chaos Gods that he infused into the souls of his primarchs. So yeessss?
My own head canon is that the primarchs are essentially greater daemons possessing super enchanced mortal vessels that were custom made for them unlike baseline human bodies that tend to rapidly waste away when they get possessed by daemonic entites. The emperor either somehow stole the knowledge from the chaos gods to create his own deamons or he made a pact and arrogantly thought he could pull a fast one on them without consequences, the consequences being 10000 years of war & suffering and him being rendered a barely living corpse left to struggle with all his might to keep humanity from slipping back into a new dark age like the age of strife. Corvus was given a decent chunk of the knowledge on the primarch project from the emperor, so maybe he put the pieces together and figured out the truth of his nature as well as that of his brothers and in the process also discovered how to fully transition to his innate deamon form.
Feeding on the warp-enfused fear you impose upon Chaos space marines also might help someone of incredible willpower to exude the warp being they truly are on the inside.

@@fiddlesticks7245 Your dude lost, that sucks I get it, but that doesn't make it garbage. If anything he is tied with Horus in terms of lasting impact on the 40k franchise. He was the one who established the Imperial Cult (direct descendant of his Emperor worshipping). This is something that has caused the most decay and grimdarkness in the Imperium. Purges, the infamous "That's heresy!", and what not. Horus benched the Emperor for 10k years and Lorgar threw the Imperium into a decaying dark age of selfharm for just as long. Edit: An even Girlyman acknowledged that he could not disband the Imperial Cult because it was the only thing holding the million worlds of the Imperium together. So he established a new title within the church to explain why it was appropriate he shouldn't worship the Emperor. Something that is still causing a great amount of friction between Puritan elements of the Inquisition & Ministorum. Hell the man even put a Sister of Battle on the High Lords of Terra thus increasing the influence of the Ministorum as now they have 2 seats within the High Lords.
I love how all the chaos primarchs are desperate to corrupt Roboute. Even killing him doesn’t make him turn. The dude is literally the Emperor in the flesh.
They probably want to do it because the traitor legions are extremely disorganized, always low on food, guns and other supplies and guiliman can organize it, attack key areas with supplies, send the night Lords as actual saboteurs and assasins instead of front line infantry, unlike abbadon
@@rexlumontad5644 would be interesting if they made it in such a way that his stasis field was damaged during the bell-quake that shook Solemnace prior to the destruction of Cadia, allowing him to escape… Either that, or Trazyn sets him free somewhere where the primarch’s presence would serve his interests, kinda like he did with Inquisitor Greyfax. Personally, I would prefer the former, it’s less repetitive
Perturabo being a daemon prince makes perfect sense if you surmise it was involuntary. Recall he was engaging the services of Word Bearers tutors to learn about mastering Chaos, as if that were possible, and that his life force was being drained by Fulgrim’s ritual. Recall further that betrayal was Lorgar’s first lesson in Chaos. It stands to reason then that said tutors betrayed Perturabo and delivered him to the permanent service of Chaos by misleading him as to the actual function of the Iron Cage ritual. Perturabo thinks it will relieve him of the drain while in actual fact it was an ascension ritual. This also explains why, in Dead Sky Black Sun, Perturabo is described as a perpetually angry and resentful daemon prince.

Absolutley down with with the idea of Konrad's soul going into a soul gem. If chaos gave him a different body, his soul might be able to occupy it. Demon price Konrad would be sick as!
@@thedivinggamermr1108 agreed, I don’t think he would straight up join the imperium but also not join chaos. I honestly don’t know what he’d do instead though.
Quite possible he'd see his sons for what they always knew them to be, and since his view of the big E killing him kinda came true, he could possibly join the space pirates. He could come to an agreement with Gman, since we know he had some sort of weird brotherly bond when they held him captive. Konrad stays a space pirate primarch, his fleet going to slaver planets or planets the Imperium won't waste resources on so Konrad can rain down some pain on the criminals of the planet. Its whilesale murder everytime, so he'd be fulfilling an off the books Imperial assassin. Imperium gets its planets, Konrad sates his crusader complex and murders everything. He goes after chaos ridden planets for the same reason, taunting his former brothers for being so weak and falling to chaos. He's mellowed out in the soul gem. Not much, but a bit. He's neither Imperial nor chaos. He sees G man as his brother, but still cant help a few barbed remarks about how he's "free" or something. Let me run this by you. We know the warp was used, in part, to create the Primarchs. Where the warp/real space overlap is strong, they can tap into the warp to augment their abilities, as Corax has shown. So... ...what if the Daemon Primarchs sold their souls for nothing?
Thats pretty much what happened Magnus litteraly became weaker with his soul shattered. Mortarion became a bigger hypocrite than ever and he is basically a lesser self Fulgrim... well the location of his soul is up to debate due to the clone but despite being a giant snake with a few arms and one of the most dangerous Primarch in duels, from quest of Perfection to the quest of perfect pleasure he truly fell low
You ask "why haven't the chaos won?" To the contrary, chaos has won. Here's why... 1. After the horus heresy, the ruinous powers returned to infighting which is typical after warring factions have achieved their primary goal or destroyed a mutual threat. 2. The goal of chaos wasn't to completely wipe out the imperium, it was to end the spread of the imperial truth. Mission Accomplished. 3. Almost all of the traitor primarchs survived and achieved eternal life and left to indulge in their own personal goals Magnus is free to seek out more knowledge, fulgrim more pleasure, lorgar more meditation and worship, etc... 4. The loyal primarchs are lost, dead, or incapacitated. 5. The imperium provides and endless flow of souls, ideas, desires, and dreams to the warp. Sure sounds like chaos won. Only with the recent return of Guilliman has the imperium even shown the slightest achievable push back against the victory of chaos.
"Morty would shit in his hand and throw it at Guilliman" "Guilliman sprayed multi-perpose cleaner at Morty" "It truely was a battle for the gods" Epic Majorkill lore
Have we heard anything from Ferrus Manus since his death? I know a lot of the community want him to return at the head of the Legion of the Damned but I can't think of anything else. You have taught me how to hate Angron.
Well Fabius Bile cloned him a few times and Fulgrim tried to persuade him to join him, but got rejected each time and while he usually killed the clones in rage, its possible that one of the clones escaped. Also the Iron Hands made an effigy of him with one of his arms, Vulcan smashed it in disgust. A psychic vision of Ferrus Manus appeared beside the Emperor fighting against the demon Drach'nyen. And in a psychic vision where the Emperor plays regicide with a rouge Astropath he hints at the possibility of him maybe bringing Ferrus Manus back at some point in the future.

Regarding Horus, there's a piece of his soul in the warp, in one of the books we see him there, fighting demons for the amusement of Korne and it's implied that all the chaos gods have a fragment of his soul.
I never really realized that Guilliman really is the polar opposite of what chaos represents. He was gifted with skills to bring order where chaos has brought disorder. I do hope to see another loyalist primarch return, but I have a feeling it will be one that brings another opposite to what chaos has brought to the galaxy. Maybe Vulkan to bring empathy? Or Dorn to rebuild what has been destroyed?
@@Tumbleflop that the lion will ultimately represent an opposite to what guilliman represents to humanity. I think guilliman will push for a more reasonable tolerant imperium where the lion will want to see a more hard-line approach. Guilliman was always meant to be a quill for the emporer where the lion was always meant to be a sword and shield.
@@Tumbleflop I'd wager money that they're going to fight. I'm willing to bet that Guilliman will want to ally with a xeno race to defeat the nids and the Lion will want nothing to do with it.
It actually makes sense and is really cool that perturabo became a daemon prince since it showed how much the chaos gods valued him as a tool and how they didn’t wish to let him go
One is killed by Guilliman, the other is killed by Dorn. They should both be dead as it is stated in the Horus Heresy books that Dorn and Guilliman were able to always tell even behind helmets and armor which member of the Alpha Legion was their brother. Alpharius tried to trick Dorn before the heresy once by having one of his sons pretend to be him while he pretended to be the body guard and Dorn saw through it the second he walked in the room. If they retcon it that'd be cool but as of now I don't think they have?
@@ASpace_Otter the one killed by Gulliman has been heavily implied to be an uplifted legion member. They would do that some of their best warriors to act in their stead. Once again read the Alpharius book where he pretty states that he allowed Gulliman to know it was him, he fought alongside him and the lion a few times dressed as their legion and they had no idea
I like the idea that the Alpha legion end up embodying the 'i am alpharius' thing. Inwhich when alpharius and omegon die they take over another legionary with the alpha legion geenseed and thus come back to life. So the only way you can truely kill them is to destroy the entire legion. So Alpharius and Omegon could be holding some weird alpha levion civil war since the end of the heresy.
Also, it seems well... lame how the traitor Primarchs went from cool rebels to Power Rangers-style "villain lieutenants" who always lose only to return and lose again...

I'd love Konrad to come back in the form of possessing Decimus with a soul gem but like a buddy cop format where they are both present and active using both rhein genius to be an effective fight force without the physical power of a primarch or demon prince. His goal having learned of the Emperor confronting Morty in Girlyman, would be in his twisted and fucked up mind wants to get that gem around Gulliman's neck so he can confront the Emperor's spirit hiding within him to talk shit and tell him he was right.

Corvus Corax literally managed to go full daemon primarch without any chaos gods intervening. So doesn't that basically make him a lesser god at this point?
You might as well consider him a Pseudo Malal.
@@bernardotorres5274 i always think of the Emp as Malal, the imperium hates everything

Purges, the infamous "That's heresy!", and what not. Horus benched the Emperor for 10k years and Lorgar threw the Imperium into a decaying dark age of selfharm for just as long.

He could come to an agreement with Gman, since we know he had some sort of weird brotherly bond when they held him captive. You ask "why haven't the chaos won?"
To the contrary, chaos has won.

Also the Iron Hands made an effigy of him with one of his arms, Vulcan smashed it in disgust.
