I just rode 875 miles last weekend with my ol lady on my 10 street glide 3k rpm at 80+mph the whole time through the mountains bike ate it up like a champ
I was looking at a few different manufactures of motorcycles for my last purchase and still stayed with HD because of the number of dealerships around that I could always take it too even going across country. I know some have had bad experiences with a few HD dealerships but my experience has been great through the years. I had a few issues with my 2017 SGS and the dealership I do business with jumped on it and got the issues resolved asap. Not only the two year warranty for new bikes but got the extended as well because I intend to have mine for several years. Great that Matt posted a truthful, unbiased video of a buyers experience.
So impressed with your RoadKing/Heritage eval, I subscribed yesterday & started binging your YT vids. Found your future employee passing through my home town Missoula with his bro & dad on a new Street Glide when trouble struck. Glad Grizzly HD helped make good on his MT trip, but you guys in CA really laid it down! Thrilled to see millenials get the bug. Riding since I was ten when my dad gave me my first bike-myself & both my brothers. I've passed it to my four sons. Learned something new with every video I watched. Thankyou. When in doubt, wheelie out!
That thing is a beast! Best color ever... Love the open and honest reviews you provide. Trust is a big thing and I think you have earned it along with your credibility. Good stuff!
Really enjoyed this video. Have always appreciated Andrew's opinions in past videos, when test riding and reviewing other models. It was nice hearing his story and impressions of this bike. Good to hear how your dealership and the motor company took care of him as he dealt with the oil pump issues. This was an excellent soft sales pitch for the M8's, Harley in general, but especially your dealership. The reputation you guys have in the industry didn't just happen, like pulling a prize from a box of crackerjacks. Hard earned and well deserved. Also … to Andrew, beautiful bike !! I love the way you have made it your own. Excellent job.
Awesome story and testament. I am all the way in Morgan Hill CA and currently waiting for a property sale in escrow to close so I can purchase a new Street Glide. I have been watching videos on TH-cam for months now taking notes and building every little detail of my new bike in my head. Like Andrew, I had a ton of bikes back in the day ranging from RD's, Kawi 750 Tripple, KZ 1000, several Ninja's, just to name a few and my last bike was a 1200 Sportster. When I was 26yrs old my Sportster was stolen in Fresno CA (arm pit of a town, sorry, but it its) and shortly after my first son was born so I never got another bike because father hood had many priorities $$$. But now at age 55 I am going to purchase my dream bike so it will be a very special occasion, and where I purchase my bike will also be a big part of that special moment. Out of all the videos I have watched it is clear to me that you guys know what you are doing and you are so focused and dedicated to educating riders so that they can get the most out of their bike and rider experience. That is why I have decided I am going to drive all the way down to Baldwin Park CA and purchase my bike at Laidlaw. Nice job Matt and Andrew and I will see you guys soon!
My new 17 Ultra Limited had a stage 3 fitted within a couple of months of buying it. I ran it in according to HD and had the oil changed on time. 250 miles later it burnt almost all the oil in the sump. No warning light just a horrible smell of burnt oil. The bike went back to the dealer and was stripped down, all the internals were useless and the oil pump was the problem. 6 weeks later I got my bike returned. Another 1000 miles of running in and now runs fine. Not what I expect from a motorcycle. However, Fair play to HD for sorting it out. 🇬🇧
Just did 2000 miles on my 114 in 2 days. More torque than I could ask for and fuel economy to boot. Average of 40 plus and on long flat stretches of road close to 50mpg. Never had to downshift even in 30 mph head winds. Completely stock bike with no mods.
Thanks Matt for the follow up video with Andrew. HIs bike is well thought out in modification and performance. He has a lot of great stories to share already with her.
Thanks for the vid. Honest as usual which I appreciate 👍 I got my MY15 Fat Bob a few months ago with 7600k's on the clock, within 4 weeks of purchase, the rear wheel bearing blew out and the VSS sensor died. Not a good start !!!! Bearings got replaced, but had more issues soon after because there was a tiny burr on my rear wheel hub from the original bearing blow out which caused the new bearings to start failing. Anyways, the crew at the dealership looked after me real good and hopefully the "kinks"have been ironed out, I still really love my bike!!!! Even with this happening, it's been AWESOME. Funny thing is I named it "Eleanor" (Yeah I know, naming a bike !) and she lived up to her name 😂😂🤣🤣
This is a good review, but the truth is my 2017 M8 runs good right out the box, all i do is ride, wash, and change the oil. I added a few things like a passenger back rest, foot pegs on engine guards, and LED headlamps with turn signals so i don't have to bother with changing bulbs. Keep it simple and stock less problems.
This was another GREAT vlog! I appreciate the honest opinions, his years of seat time and experience with other bike platforms gave more validation to the performance claims of his bike and the M8 engine series! The road trip sounded hella cool and his bike giving him hell with the issues are just part of the fun because he was safe and didn't have to kick money out for the repairs or transfer 👍 Good on you Matt for taking care of your homie when he was down! ⚡💪😁
Appreciate this mat. Nice honest story, not just the great points of HD. Every bike brand has their good and bad stories and it's nice to see you guys giving both sides of the coin and a solution to the issues. I live in ireland and HD has a bad rep at times but I'm die hard HD and swear by them. Looking at upgrading from my 01 sporty soon to a big twin most likely and love watching your videos man. Always honest. Cheers man. 😊👍🏍☘
Matt Laidlaw great back road over here man. You should wait until the killarney bikefest in June, great show, best side of the country for roads and scenery, and most importantly the least chance of rain man haha! Hit me up anytime your over man. Cheers, keep up the great work! 🤟🏍☘
Great Video. I'm outside Vegas and talked to Matt and them about the 17 and was going down there to make a deal. Then I got thinking about working on it and went with the Henderson dealer here. They have been Great. Like you I got mine late and know I caused them to work over. I just have a stage 1, with Freedom Performance Fishtails. My Bike is the Hard Candy Black Gold. I Love it.
I did had a full Stage 2 on mine with a zippers redshift cam and DD Billet Cat exhaust. I have a good mechanic and he pitched a Fueling Cam plate, oil pump and Rods too. Best decision I've made. 2k trouble free miles since the upgrade. My warranty is toast but I've never needed it. I want my Harley ti sound and perform like a Harley.
That is a ton of money in the 17'. I bought mine in aug 17'. It is still stock engine. I got all the warranties I could get and with a good price out the door, it was still $$$. The stories I hear on the tube is that the engines that have different stages done on them are having problems. I have not put but 2500 miles on mine (not by choice, the nature of my career) It is making me think twice about going with more power. Could some of this be on the mechanic's doing the work? I love my bike, it is a super comfy bike with everything I need so far. There is also bad reviews of the stage 2 boom, but like Andrew, my stage 2 stepped the sound up pretty good. Great vid, good luck with ur ride Andrew.
Hubert Lanham I would guess that failures can be caused by poor installation of the stage kits. However one of our techs did this one who has over a decade of experience and has done several of these kits which have all run perfect. I don’t think this one was technician error.
Let's make a video about stake 4 problems. Sumping, blowing up! All over the country. 6 bikes sitting at my local Harley dealer right now getting re-built.
Awesome video guys! I was recently visiting CA from New Mexico and made it a point to check out Laidlaws. It was earlier in the day so not much activity but it was an awesome dealership. Just had my 5k service on my M8 SGS, and the dealer somehow dented my front rim and is claiming it's not their fault... wish I would have bought my bike from you Matt.... next time for sure tho. Keep the videos coming. Ride safe
Great Video Andrew and Matt. I have an 18 SGS with Stage III SE tuner and Smart Tune and I also bought the extended to 7 year warranty. In all the reading I've done my impression is changing out the full H-D stock exhaust is a big no no that will void your power train warranty. Any slip on or the H-D Hi-Flow exhaust (that I have) are acceptable according to the reading I've done. While Laidlaw might take care of any power train warranty that might come up local, should Andrew have an issue while on the road, as soon as any other dealer sees that Cobra header/exhaust, any warranty claim will be denied by H-D. Matt, can you elaborate on this please? I would love to change my header to wake my bike like the exhaust and the Smart Tune did for Andrew but don't want to jeopardize my 7 year warranty. TY
Honestly, I super respect y'all for being open and honest about the new platform - the M-8 is a cool new motor but any new motor, especially one with this much cutting-edge tech, is gonna inevitably have a set of problems no one's ever seen before/ It's a good real-world lesson for the engineering team eh?
I just went through the same thing with my 2018RGS. Left for my annual west trip with 700 miles on bike - 1K service performed at that time. 5-600 miles into the trip notice bike low on power and then oil pushing out my breathers and with lower end wet sumping. Ran oil level on the low side the rest of the 4000 miles that week and dropped off the bike to the dealer the day after I returned home. 6 weeks later bike was back home with a Stage 3 upgrade with me paying for parts. I have about 50 miles on the bike since the work and oil is once again pushing out my breathers all over my bike. Pissed to say the least! 25 year Harley diehard owning more bikes than I can remember. Traded my bulletproof 2009 TC for this 2018 oiler.
Sounds like my story, got a 2017 RGU with stage 3, lifters went bad and oil pump went bad, all in town so was no big deal luckily. Picked up a 2017 SGS as a commuter, owning both bikes have no worries but when extended warranty is up, I will not be too pleased since this oil pump is a well known issue, hope Harley backs it
I had an early run oil pump problem ( stock 2017 Ultra). Red oil light came on, pulled over immediately and could restart without oil light. Fortunately near my HD dealer. They called HD and confirmed production date and replaced the pump. Tech said that the check valves were sticking on these pumps and supplying low pressure to the engine. Mine must have unstuck when I stopped the engine.
e32amgfinatic thanks I run a Vance and Hines FP3 FUELPAK TUNER on my Fatboy Lo Special, after watching the vlog I googled Screaming Eagle auto tuner & that's probably what he's running, apparently it automatically adjusts for higher elevations etc, technology I love it👍😎
Poor dude, seems like such a cool guy but that is some bad luck with bikes. Glad you stuck with riding after everything & now your selling them, excellent. Happy riding man😎😆
Great and honest video, nice to hear from a person who rides hard and tells it like it is good and bad. Would a auto tuner work on my 2016 C V O Pro Street with the 117 kit? Keep up the good work!
Great video! I have a 17 RGS with the stage two kit torque cam HD high flow exhaust and the auto and pro tuner all HD I also hear the tapping noise, I brought it in to the dealer and they couldn’t duplicate the sound they said. So now I’m concerned that I may have the same problem with the bike locking up. I’m guessing I need to bring it somewhere else and get a second opinion! Is there anyway of them checking the oil pump?
I would have to talk to my technicians to see if there is an easy way to check and see if your bike is having oiling issues. I will say that there are a lot of people who try to self diagnose based on sound when there is no problem at all. You might not have any issue at all especially if a dealer took a look and said everything was good.
This kills me, I feel the pain and a little buyers remorse. I got a 2017 Road Glide, and started blacking it out too. Ton of money in, and they bring out the 18s already blacked out. I too had my engine blown, around $9k miles, and HD shipped in a crate motor to replace it (warranty). Ever since then, I've been having idle issues, and now this last weekend a check engine light turns out to be something with the front O2 sensor. Said mine was running lean though. I'll say that the local dealers have been proactive though. They called me a few weeks ago to have my oil changed for free, to check for any particles. Turns out, they didn't swap the oil cooler when they replaced the engine, so last week they called me back (which is when I found out why they wanted to do the oil change in the first place) and said they want me back in to get that replaced also under warranty. I'm just concerned about this particular bike in general now. Probably just my bad luck, but I feel like I got a lemon.
I have had a similar experience. First stage IV done in India on a Milwaukee 8 (MY 18 Roadking). Dealership forgot to change the oil pump which was supposed to be changed with the stage upgrade. First ride after the break in... knocking sound and the bike refused to crank after abt 150 miles... no new engine but after a lot of mail exchanges the dealership changed piston & rings, front n rear cylinders, cam and main bearing, fly wheel assembly and the oil pump.... post the install... bike runs great except their is occasional missing at sudden accelerations and decel pops... I have the pro street tuner and the smart tune pro. Is there a way to check if the smart tube pro is enabled... working properly as I thought the job was to ensure that the bike adjusts on a real time basis??
I have the same exact bike but without the navigation. They didn't have it in stock. I even have the same matte black paint so I change to the docking station backrest and all the pedals grips shift everything which was close to four grand. I took my bike out for the first long ride from Malden Massachusetts to the kangamangus highway. I didn't have any engine light go on. It backfired once or twice and you know I had power shift a couple times after the thousand miles I got on it you know. I burnt the tire a little bit coming out of first and second gear, nothing crazy. I only power shifted it then maybe 3 time but after the long day of riding I get back home it's dark I don't check the bike but I could smell steel when I was on the highway and it wasn't a good smell so I knew something was off you know. If you have owned a bike of any kind you smell the exhaust and you know what's up. I don't have any stages, nothing that's a stock engine but needless to say down the bottom of the piston it started to leak oil. I immediately bring it back to the dealership. I didn't even drive it. I had it picked up cuz I had the five year maintenance plan which cost me more money too at the time so not only did I do all of that I paid cash for it. As I researched the bike I found out the thing called sump pumping which basically puts out too much oil on the top and not enough oils coming in at the bottom of the pump which creates pressure in the top of the piston and makes a froth of oil and air and bubbles on the top. So it blew out the bottom seal so I bring it back to Boston Harley-Davidson in Revere Massachusetts. They've had my bike for about I don't know close to a month they really wouldn't talk to me about what they were doing what they were going to do and what needed to be done. Which I was real disappointed because when I drive the bike I'm betting my life on it. I have covid crap come up, after being sick a couple times and a few more bumps but I still have the bike. I am riding it now as I rode around the city the last week I heard it backfire. So after watching this video I am going to call Boston Harley-Davidson and ask them what I should do with the bike. Since they fixed it I have not put any miles on the bike so to speak of less than 500. I'm not thinking should be backfiring right now I went threw the break in period. I changed the oil every time the bike goes to the shop. So now the warranty has run out and I don't know what's going to come up. But I am glad I watched this video, I'm not glad you went through maybe the same thing brother. The bike wasn't cheap but at the end of the day I'm the most important thing, the customer. So if you have anything to add LMK @ jgcityline@yahoo.com
I find that the extended warranty may be necessary. Both my harleys had issues, one nearly catastrophic(wheel bearing exploded due to factory install negligence), no motor issues... yet. As to extended warranty, YMMV. Personally, when my 2 year is up I will extend despite plans to replace front fork springs for progressive cartridge and rear shocks (2K17 FLSTF). I will disclose that my Harley always prioritized warranty issues regardless of the severity; good people.
Man.. I hope Andrew switched to a thundermax and catless head pipes after that stage 4 (just got to where he said 2 to 1) I’m on a 468 cam, catless head pipes, 107 M8 I want to do a stage 4 but don’t wanna go too big for the displacement. I keep hearing ppl saying their 124,128,131 .. making tons of heat making the bike less enjoyable for long rides and if u get stuck in traffic.. So thinking maybe the 107 to 114 stage4 so I make more power but not making as much heat. But for the cost of the kit and install.. is it even worth it for slight increase in displacement.. currently I’m making 105whp/115wtq so not bad for a 107. But yea I wanna go faster for sure
Great Video thank you Like to see a someone riding the snot out off their bike!!! This damn chanel us going have me in a HD dealer at some point signing my life away. lol
Very nice Andrew!! Matt do you recommend an oil pump upgrade on the early M8's?? I have a August 17 RGS with 16,000 miles and want to go Stage 3 or 4 and think it may be a good idea to swap it out. Also have a S/E autotuner that i will install. Andrew bring up a great point on the exhaust and performance issues.....any thought on a 2 into 1 into 2 header ? Thanks for a great video.
Matt and Andrew adventure start when shite happens .... good video and there are so many dealers out there that treat 1 time I really need help travellers so good ....
Question for you Matt why doesn’t Harley offer a special on the ultras? Meaning why can’t you get one with the chrome all blacked out without spending a small fortune on getting all the individual parts separately
So as a question from person who never owned a Harley, the Milwaukee 8's don't have O2 sensors to adjust the mixtures with elevation and temp changes? They just have a generic MAP? So you are saying I can't ride hard at high elevations in a Harley?
I love how the Harley’s dealerships are always helpful I am in New Jersey and the guys her very cool and taking care of me and my bike next years I am going to get my wife a new low rider she is sing the relationship I have with Harley dealers where ever we Go and this was one of the thing that convinced her to start riding she Start few month ego and the barely dealer had a Yamaha 250 that some one traded in they are only a Harley dealer but the coolest was that they told us to get this bike first and did not push her to get a big bike since she just could not do it so , I just wanted to say thanks for the Harley dealers they are the best with out a doubt and I recommend for any one that wants a bike to first go to the Harley dealerships before going to any outer bike, this video is a good example.
Drove off the dealership last Thursday with a used ‘17 with 24k miles... put 200 miles on the bike... loss of power, oil disappearing... back at the dealership... no bike, big payment... so upsetting.
The likelihood is low but if it can be proved that the exhaust negatively affected the failed part then a claim can be denied. With a HD tuner and HD internals the chances are low. Consult your local shop though.
As all your videos, excelent content, Thankyou!! Very usefull. Matt, can you please let us know which “cell phone holder” is on Andrew’s handlebar? I like the look, it looks sleek... All the best!!👍🏼
Although the "Klock Werks magnetic phone mount" looks great, I don´t think that is what Andrew has in his bike... It does not look like its has the Klock Werks' base bolted to the right controls... It must be some other kind of phone mount...
Hey Matt, I'm looking to get my first Harley. You understand tall guy problems, I am also looking for older, affordable and maintenance friendly. Could you do a video for people like myself?
Harley’s are Tuner’s dream. Like American Muscle cars you can take performance anywhere you want to go. Nice job Andrew. Life’s short, just buy the bike.
I love my 2018 CVO Road Glide but I find it a little bit detuned and I want to put a stage 1 kit on it to wake it up a bit. I had a 2018 CVO Street Glide that sumped at 1200 kms and it ended up requiring a new 117 motor so I'm a little nervous about modifying my new CVO Road Glide in any way. Harley covered the motor under warranty but I'm a little bit nervous now about modifying anything on my new bike now that I know the 117's are prone to sumping. My dealer has given me conflicting information whether or not Harley will warranty another bad motor for me if I do a stage 1 on the Road Glide. What do you think?
Thanks for this great review. Lots of good information here. Which Custom Dynamics front turn signals did you upgrade to? The light output is impressive. I’m looking to upgrade the led turn signals for a 2018 CVO Road Glide and I’m curious if these will work. Thanks for any info or suggestions.
These are plug and play for the OEM halogen bulbs. The CVO is LED already. The guts of the light housing is different and these light won’t just plug in.
Sweet bike and review! I tried looking through the comments and watched that part of the vid again, but what bars are those? And are the mirrors still functional? Thanks
Sweet HD he did a lot of work but looks great!! Question Matt, My FLSS 110 screaming eagle twin cam I have screaming Eagle slip ons cannons. I am thinking of going to a stage 2. For more low-end torque Haven’t decided what cams to go with. Can I add a auto tune to my stock headers?
Awesome interview man it's a great video. So in September i am riding from fl to Utah and ill be riding through the Rockies. My bike only has slip ons so should i look into getting an auto tuner? Is it necessary?
So Matt, should I take my 2017 Road King purchased brand new in January 2017 back to my dealer and ask them to please replace the oil pump? Seriously man, this makes me concerned to even ride the bike now! Rear wheel lockup due to piston seizure at 70 mph is not my idea of fun!!
Great video Matt. Ive got my 17 Road Glide Special and have been paying attention to the Oil Issuses the guys have been having. My plan is to put the Stage 4 kit in, and have been thinking about putting the stage 3 kit cam in it? I like the torque band with it. The auto tuner that Harley Davidson has, is this better than the Vance & Hines Fuel Pack 3? Appreciate this content you provide, love to see how you folks took care of him...that's great service! As usual, straight forward and honest video! Thanks.
I have a 16 fxdl and my ECM went bad and caused my screaming eagle tuner to be useless. HD corperate wouldn't do anything to replace or refund me because they had a law suit with EPA. the dealership bought me a FP3 and it doesn't void my warranty the owner of the dealership told me that.
Thanks Matt, appreciate the honesty from you and Andrew. Andrews ride is just sweet!
I just rode 875 miles last weekend with my ol lady on my 10 street glide 3k rpm at 80+mph the whole time through the mountains bike ate it up like a champ
Any mods... just curious
@@rodericksaunders5887 they told me it had motorwork done. When i bought it. Dont have that bike anymore
It's very nice to hear a dealer take care of a customer. Great job!

Thanks for the constructive comment. Yes, the dealer network is a HUGE advantage that H-D has.
I swear these videos are meant for me to distract from all the craziness of the day!
anthony verdugo haha. Glad I could bring some escape from the normal work day.
I must have watched this video over a dozen times. It’s one of my fav’s love Andrews story would like to see more with him and nick

Love my 17 Street Glide Special! Andrew hit 110 mph at one point in this video.Wow, I never went that fast on mine!
Michael Sragosa lol really I hit that all the time on my Dyna low rider s
Thanks Matt & Andrew - great review ! I learned a lot from your 1st hand experience especially about 2 into 1 exhausts. Best vlog yet!
Thank you! I appreciate the positive feedback.

Nice Andrew , real good story and bike . top man . Matt's got a real asset to the team there . sounds like a good company to work for .

Thanks so much!

What bike do I have now
Great Video. I Love it.
Another great and honest review here (as usual). Interesting and informative (as usual).
Keep em´coming sir (as usual)!
Thank you !
I sure enjoyed this ... thanks heaps Matt and Andrew ^^
Thanks again for watching
Awesome video guys! I was recently visiting CA from New Mexico and made it a point to check out Laidlaws. It was earlier in the day so not much activity but it was an awesome dealership. Just had my 5k service on my M8 SGS, and the dealer somehow dented my front rim and is claiming it's not their fault... wish I would have bought my bike from you Matt.... next time for sure tho. Keep the videos coming. Ride safe
Thanks for visiting brother
TY
I see that your comment is three years old, but I've got a 20 Breakout 114 that was moderately modified and I have the warranty forever.
Gregory Steffensen “cutting edge tech” lol, it’s 30 yr old tech.
Got a 107 in my 17 flhx. Runs like a top. No aftermarket mods other than pipes with no cat. Has 8k miles and no issues whatsoever.
Picked up a 2017 SGS as a commuter, owning both bikes have no worries but when extended warranty is up, I will not be too pleased since this oil pump is a well known issue, hope Harley backs it
Well done. Really appreciate you telling the whole story warts and all.
No one really knows how I new motor going to react to modifications you learn through trial and error thanks for the video man take care
True. Thanks for watching
Love the bike Andrew/ and good job with the whole story guys
I had an early run oil pump problem ( stock 2017 Ultra). Red oil light came on, pulled over immediately and could restart without oil light. Fortunately near my HD dealer. They called HD and confirmed production date and replaced the pump. Tech said that the check valves were sticking on these pumps and supplying low pressure to the engine. Mine must have unstuck when I stopped the engine.
Nothing but love
Great Info Tool! Thanks again Matt. Thanks Andrew for the information. Beautiful Harley!
Great vid. Keep mixing it up Matt...
Matt takes care of people. Good job. And a great video.
When Andrew was talking about an auto tuner , is that made by Vance & Hines, really good vlog
Geoff Oz Evans there’s a few options on the market
e32amgfinatic thanks I run a Vance and Hines FP3 FUELPAK TUNER on my Fatboy Lo Special, after watching the vlog I googled Screaming Eagle auto tuner & that's probably what he's running, apparently it automatically adjusts for higher elevations etc, technology I love it👍😎
It’s a Screamin Eagle tuner.
Matt Laidlaw thanks Matt 👍😎
Did Matt’s father and friend have different make/mode of auto tuner from his Screaming Eagle tuner?
Very nice bike. Nothing like a Street Glide. Thanks for the vlog.
Nice video! Hey Andrew, where did you get that vest? Smooth!!
Poor dude, seems like such a cool guy but that is some bad luck with bikes. Glad you stuck with riding after everything & now your selling them, excellent. Happy riding man😎😆
thank you!!! much appreciated!!
Haha, at 1:53 when he switches off the bike, the music stops. Nice touch ;)
I must say that bike looks super sweet.
Doesn’t the 2 to 1 aftermarket exhaust void your warranty? Everting I read and see on Matt’s channel says it would.
Dope ass Espinosa leathers vest!
Great and honest video, nice to hear from a person who rides hard and tells it like it is good and bad. Would a auto tuner work on my 2016 C V O Pro Street with the 117 kit? Keep up the good work!
William Thacker it definitely wouldn’t hurt. After i did it my bike ran way more efficient.
Bike is sick! That’s what’s up that you were taken care of when you hit those speed bumps.
Off subject but I really dig that leather vest at the beginning of the video
Espinoza’s Leather. They are nice.
Love the video. You may want to go back to a sport bike brother
My oil pump went bad on my 114 breakout!
Matt Laidlaw I appreciate your response thanks for taking the time to answer me!...
Awesome video!
Thank you!
When adding the Harley auto tuner do you have to purchase the pro tuner as well and install it prior to the auto tuner?
Yes
Thank you, I wish my dealer was as informative as you all are with all of your videos you put out.
Man.. I hope Andrew switched to a thundermax and catless head pipes after that stage 4 (just got to where he said 2 to 1)
I’m on a 468 cam, catless head pipes, 107 M8
I want to do a stage 4 but don’t wanna go too big for the displacement.
Interesting video. Would be nice with a parts list and perhaps a dyno sheet as well?
Jostein Leth-Olsen yea, I need to include Dyno sheets more. I don’t know if he has figures on it.
Look at more videos!!! th-cam.com/video/DoYh_KSncQU/w-d-xo.html
Great Video thank you
Like to see a someone riding the snot out off their bike!!! This damn chanel us going have me in a HD dealer at some point signing my life away. lol
I wish I could buy one of those Laidlaw HD hats! Great video Matt! Ride Safe!
If you get a stage 3-4 kit then definitely ask the dealer if you’re getting the latest pump. If you’re doing that then just keep the stock header.
They do have sensors that adjust. The stock bike runs good at all altitudes.
I’m looking at a 2014 street glide with the 103 in it are the 103 motors any good ?
I like that gray color a lot
Matt, you are the man.
No you’re the man.
Next year I’m riding from Massachusetts to your shop my man!
Wow what did that cost you for all the upgrades? 10,000.?
Great video.. I hve a 2017 ultra limited .. should I be concerned about oil pump issue.. thnxs...
Drove off the dealership last Thursday with a used ‘17 with 24k miles... put 200 miles on the bike... loss of power, oil disappearing... back at the dealership... no bike, big payment... so upsetting.
Love the video and congrats on the bike. Matt, just checking that the Cobra exhaust does not void the warranty? Thanks for any info...
The likelihood is low but if it can be proved that the exhaust negatively affected the failed part then a claim can be denied. With a HD tuner and HD internals the chances are low. Consult your local shop though.
Thanks for the info Matt. If that happens you will become my new local shop ;)
Nice wasn't aware of the oil pump stuff. Have 13,000 on my 17 SGS. Guessing HD auto tuner?
Steve Sappey yes. Screamin Eagle Auto Tuner.
As all your videos, excelent content, Thankyou!! Very usefull.
Matt, can you please let us know which “cell phone holder” is on Andrew’s handlebar? I like the look, it looks sleek...
All the best!!👍🏼
Its the Klock Werks magnetic phone mount
Although the "Klock Werks magnetic phone mount" looks great, I don´t think that is what Andrew has in his bike... It does not look like its has the Klock Werks' base bolted to the right controls... It must be some other kind of phone mount...
Hey what kind of vest was he wearing? The leather with the white stitching?
Espinoza's Leather
Hey Matt, I'm looking to get my first Harley. You understand tall guy problems, I am also looking for older, affordable and maintenance friendly. Could you do a video for people like myself?
Scott W yea, I need to do a used bike buying video.
Matt Laidlaw thank you!
Harley’s are Tuner’s dream. Like American Muscle cars you can take performance anywhere you want to go. Nice job Andrew. Life’s short, just buy the bike.
I had the same bike. 2017 street glide special in charcoal denim but it got stolen within the first few months.
Never owned nor really rode a bike, but I'm going to get the endorsement soon and I need a street glide in my life minus the 2 cabinets in the back.
Informative and cool video!
Freaking awesome when you show video with interview 👍
Sweet bike and review! I tried looking through the comments and watched that part of the vid again, but what bars are those? And are the mirrors still functional? Thanks
Sweet HD he did a lot of work but looks great!! Question Matt, My FLSS 110 screaming eagle twin cam I have screaming Eagle slip ons cannons. I am thinking of going to a stage 2. For more low-end torque Haven’t decided what cams to go with. Can I add a auto tune to my stock headers?
Yes. Stock Harley headers is actually what it’s designed for.
Matt Laidlaw Sweet thanks for getting back Bro..
YES!
Awesome interview man it's a great video. So in September i am riding from fl to Utah and ill be riding through the Rockies. My bike only has slip ons so should i look into getting an auto tuner? Is it necessary?
In my experience i felt the bike ran more efficient and a little more power compared to my butt dyno.
Not Necessary!
Hey Andrew where did you get that nice vest from?
Espinoza’s.
The VAST majority of bikes that we have sold have been issue free. Ride it and enjoy it, Andrew's experience has been the worst we have seen.
Thanks.
I would stick to the Screamin Eagle auto tuner. The Vance and Hines fuel pack will void your warranty assuming you still have warranty on your bike.
Thanks Matt. I'll use the Harley Davidson Tuner. Yes I do have the extended warranty for sure!
D Koresh Individual dealers can make those types of judgement calls. They may have to pay for something on their own dime.
So my 2017 street glide special sucks??? Do i need all that stuff? 😫😭
No it’s a dang nice bike....Andrew’s is just nicer though. And faster.
I love your flat bill hat man!!
Thanks!
