Thanks for this. I do like American muscle slot cars and this clear and detailed and dispassionate review informs not to 'go there' with this. In point of fact the only Mustang I have gone with from Scalextric is the recent Shelby 350 Fastback which has both front and rear lights which compensate for the overall grade of the producat and the lack of adjustability and tuning options we find with Scalextric. As a 'project' this seems to have been something of a 'quick win'. Scalextric has essentially had to raid its stock parts and tooling and make a few minor adjustments et voila. We do have to question how much they had to pay for the product licencing and whether this has contributed to things like no lights and a higher RRP? I think folks need to find as real John Wick fans to run to this.
Hey Darren, I agree that it's a 'quick win' for Scalextric at the cost of producing a quality model. I did wonder about licensing, but we can take an estimated guess that their movie cars tend to be around £7 more than the rest. So that's still £50 for an old model with no upgrades. Really appreciate your insight and for watching!
@@jacks_hobbies Thanks for your insights Jack. We can now pick up the latest and greatest Mustang GT3 from Sideways (white kit) for around 50 Euros from Chris in the South of France. Slap on some 'Shelby Guardsman Metallic Blue' or 'Racing White' or whatever together with the iconic Mustang double top down stripes. I's a no brainer with me.
@@jacks_hobbies The Boss 429 didn't get a wing, had a different hood scoop and a "Boss 429 sticker on the fender (or wing) and wasn't offered in that color. It odd the film makers didn't know/care about that detail
I think five was fair. Maybe even less. Colour hit me straight away as being wrong which would constantly niggle and finish was poor. Good review thank you.
Jeezus..... I just noticed, it doesn't even have working lights.... I'd only give it a 4 out of 10.... on the other hand I recently got the Mk1 Escort C4445 Tony Paxman Racing - that is a sheer delight, and gets an 8 out of 10 from me.
Good Review, but I don't think you mark that hard. When someone buys a John Wick Mustang, they want a John Wick Mustang. It looks like Scalextric bought the rights and just resprayed an old car. That's an "F" in my book.
I love a Mustang.....and a John Wick fan....But the colour is wrong, shame there's no light's, I have the old Boss 302 Yellow road car and it has front light's. Also it was fitted with door mirror's. The John Wick movie car had door mirror's, why doesn't that have door mirrors? Also the wiper's are very chunky, so not you're not being harsh, it could have been better.. I hope the new Cuda has mirror's 🤣🤣
Am I being harsh? Or could it have been better?
Comparing this to the Mclaren you reviewed recently, you're probably being generous. I can see why the Mclaren costs what it does now, well justified.
Good to see you back! 57 notes, I didn't realise. 😮
Great review. Look forward to more. Thanks!!
Yeah it's pricey, thanks for watching!

Still good collectible❤
Any slot car is good :p Thanks for watching!
FYI JW's Mustang is Mach 1, not a Boss 429
Ah ha! I knew someone would know. I could tell it was slightly different but I wasn't sure on exactly which. Thanks for confirming and watching!

Great to hear your thoughts! I wasn't sure if I was being picky or not so glad we agree. Thanks for watching!

Yeah it's a big negative for me considering the price and age of the car. Thanks for watching!
Where's the John Wick beard ?
I was thinking the same - thanks for watching!

I was wondering if the bodyshape was slightly wrong. Thanks for watching!
@jacks_hobbies De ahí la falta de las entradas de aire laterales y las medidas erróneas en cuanto a largo y ancho.

Let's hope the Cuda is indeed better! The no lights thing was strange to me.... but that's cost cutting for you :p Thanks for watching!
🤑
Where are the mirrors????
They are there - albeit a bit tucked in. Thanks for watching!
@jacks_hobbies cheers mate, like your work, you definitely paid more attention to your videos than SCX on the car 😆. Subscribed
That's awful value for money
Yeah it's pretty terrible
