    Nice looking car! I have a few versions of the older GT40 models and they do drive very well, handle great and are usually very quick! 😎👍

    The full-size Mk IV was a very difficult color to replicate being gold/bronze which was a standard Ford motor company color called "Emberglow". Hopefully, the scale model is as close to this attractive color as is possible. Thank you for your review!

    Yes,good video,plenty of easy to understand information.But as some comments mentioned the price of Scalextric these days is very expensive for what you get,the NSR car is a little more but look at what you get,apples v oranges, toy v OOTB genuine performance club racer.I do upgrades for customers who are expecting so much more from their Scalex' purchases and i have to tell them that for how much they spend on upgrade parts,may as well buy the superior car.How hard can it be for Scalextric to produce a flat, flexible chassis,with a guide 5mm deeper?

    NSR sell the Mark 1V in the same livery. Admittedly it is an analogue car, but could probably be converted to digital by fitting a Scalextric digital chip

      Im all about analogue anyway :p Thanks for watching!

      NSR cars run on different voltage and current to what scalextric does.
      They obviously perform in a different type of racing style.

    To be truthful a 1/32 slot car should only do around 7-7.5 mph. That would be realistic for their scale at around 240mph if they were full sized. Last time I ran in a competition to win a set the cars seemed way too fast to me, and that was a good few years ago when Westfield Stratford first opened.
    When I was proper into it I would have loved the digital version; the ability to have a computer run 3 cars while I ran the other would really have appealed to someone with nobody to run with.

    • @jacks_hobbies
      @jacks_hobbies  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Digital has it's advantages. I mostly run alone and still prefer No mags analogue

      @@jacks_hobbies Just got right back into it with the Arc Air; analogue and 1 pace car; the thing I've discovered today is that a figure 8 with a bridge doesn't suit pace cars very well. As the racing wore on the older cars in particular began to struggle up the hill. Going to swap out tomorrow for a flat sort of oval.

    I have one of the gt40’s (gulf) colours .from when I was younger. I think I bought it around 1998/1999
    And out of all my cars it’s the only sidewinder and it’s faster than any of them, aswell as everyone I’ve ever raced!
    Not very grippy on the corners but wow! Does it chip out the corner and down the straights! No one can match the top speed of it!
    Well used and still in good detail! Has the exhausts you like on your one
    I haven’t trued the tyres because it wasn’t a thing when I was a kid and I didn’t have you tube to find out weather people did it!

    • @dreyn7780
      @dreyn7780 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      2 years ago they released multiple GT40 gulf editions.
      They all drove differently.
      They all drove in the same style as the full sized versions.

    Are there any silicone tyres to fit this thing?

    • @jacks_hobbies
      @jacks_hobbies  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Youll find that silicone tyres stretch and it can be hard to find exact measurements that fir. Get some calipers and measure, then search for the size. But I would advise going slightly smaller than required otherwise they flop all over the place.

    I've got the NSR Ford Mk IV in the same colour absolutely stunning. I've looked at the Scalextric on and it's hard to find, but I've seen the Blue one on Amazon....Just don't think it's worth the £66 asking price.

    There's a red version sold in a 2 car set.
    The designer is right, not you.
    Remove the magnet and the scaled down driving experience is lost.
    The free flowing style racing game is carrera brand product.

      They're completely different products.
      NSR has nothing to do with any other brand.
      SO, as a buyer, you must findout what style of driving NSR sells. Then find out what scalextric driving is.

    • @DJSpannamanUK

      Yes they can but you need to change the pickup guide.
      Carrera cars come with both on the box to run them on either.
      But scalextric car’s don’t so you have to buy them sepy

    • @dreyn7780
      @dreyn7780 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      NO.
      They have NO connection.
      Carrera runs on current and scalextric runs on voltage.
      Carrera is a free flowing style of racing \ driving style.
      Scalextric is scaled down actual one to one driving.

    • @dreyn7780
      @dreyn7780 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Scalextric chose scaled down driving experience for their customers.
      Carrera got to observe that driving style and build something completely different.
      They chose to make their product run on current not volts.
      The cars wont run on The other brands racing track.

    Horrible guide, heavy, rubbish wheels, fragile chassis that goes brittle when you use glue, I suppose you would get 1 seaon of racing before it would be useless... and it's expensive. Looks typical of Scalextric, lots of potential, no real balls
    I forgot about the horrible chassis this particular car is difficult to ad weight or modify in any way....
    Just about impossible to loosen the chassis
