I have an 024 that I am restoring. I am putting a 44.7mm piston on it. The original cylinder is ok but I want a deco valve on it - just can’t pull over high compression saws, anymore. It will have new seals, intake boot and all new fuel lines. Will put a 16 inch .325 bar and chain on it.
The 024 was/is a 42mm...the 024/026 doesn't need a decomp unless you are machining the cylinder to raise the compression..(my opinion). Thank you for watching..
@@Brian2bears Brian, 78 makes you do a lot of thing that you would not do at 38. Know what I mean? My 026 does not have a deco on and I can still crank it but I want to build it to Pro specs and that requires a deco. I just put a 44.7mm cylinder on my MS 260 and it cranks and runs fine. When I get through, my 260, 026 and 024 will have identical cylinders, all Nikasil. The only difference is I am not putting an adjustable oiler on the 024. It will have an adjustable carb, like the others.

MotoLife, all these break down the same. The 024av will have a smaller bore and one bar stud. Disassembly will be the same. Thank you for watching...
