Was given an old Stilh 028 farm boss, and the bushings went out several years ago. Bought a newer saw a couple of years ago, but I would like a backup saw when you don't have time to sharpen the blade. I've seen other videos taking the whole saw apart. This was way easier.

I have a 15 year old Stihl 290 that when you hold the wrap handle if you push the bottom of the blade, you can see/feel the whole saw flex at the cutting part vs. the handle... I am convinced the annular buffers are all shot on mine, as that's the only thing that should "hold" those two halves I believe. Great video!!

You did a great job explaining what you were doing. Where I live I don’t have any need for a chainsaw. My wife and I hire an arborist to take care of our trees because he has the training and knowledge and super workers wo do an excellent job. Many years ago I did use an electric chainsaw to take care of the 14 fruit trees that we had on our property at the time.

Hi Don. Thank you. I haven't seen you for a while, although I haven't been on youtube much myself lately. We (our charity) have a large MS172 (070) (105cc 36" bar) for making lumber for houses after disasters. I would not dare to use it, but this 260 is light and small, so I can handle for small jobs. Hope you are both doing well over there.

Irish Chippy I’ve been doing a lot of things outside my shop. We had Pam’s family totaling 13 people for Thanksgiving this past week. It’s the first time that we’ve hosted her whole family.
Before they came we decided to put up our two Christmas trees in the house and decorate them. That project alone took three full days. I also did some additional decorating and cleaning.
Any shop time I have has gone to the Zebrawood pizza cutter handles I’m turning for Christmas presents. The videos on that project should be out sometime in January. Between now and then I should be able to put out a couple more videos plus a shop update - at least that’s my plan.
As soon as the handles are done, hopefully by Friday, I’ll be working on a trophy for our basset hound club. One of our boys retired the previous trophy so I’m making a replacement. That may or may not produce a video.
Thank you for your concern. Pam and I are both well.

Hi Richard & Jenifer. Belated Happy thanksgiving. Thank you for watching and your kind words. I would have thought my previous video would have been more up your street, because of the Japanese slant. When I was young (like 8) my late uncle you to give a clock to take apart and then put back together. On one occasion I had a part left over, even though the clock worked. My uncle explained the part was needed, or the manufacturer would not have put it in.

Hi Dirk, thank you for watching, Problem is this one was not sold in the Philippines. Almost everyone has the 36" 070 (MS720), which is a 105cc animal. I was able to get most parts, but am changing over to a 3/8" system (bar chain & sprocket) because I can get chain and bar here. Just need a rim sprocket 3/8".

At 4:13 the buffer you say is okay, is that interchangeable with the 261 model as I have a PDF that lists different stop buffers but I would rather install a rubber one instead of the foam one that is in my 261CM- Awesome video!!! Very helpful in doing my own refresh of my saw
