    Nice catch by the Missus!! Well done Kel on the plug for a boat loader 😁 Great setup, I had the short shaft 370 Dart & 18HP Tohatsu two-stroke on the top of my camper.

      Hi, Cheers for the pointers hey is that tohatsu a short shaft.? Definitely a deal breaker without a boat 👌

    • @ourrealitytravels
      @ourrealitytravels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Mickyt76 Hi Mick, the outboard is a long shaft as I went with the LS transom on the Quintrex. Only way to go in my opinion, it provides so much more freeboard on the transom in a bit of slop. The short shaft version is 43kg, I think this LS version is a couple of kgs heavier but still manageable as a 1 person lift.

    Hi, great video am getting a custom boat loader this year too, With the outboard you have a locking system to lock it onto your van and boat, can you please tell me where you got that from please

    • @ourrealitytravels
      @ourrealitytravels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Craig, its a Kovix outboard motor lock. They get a bit of surface rust on the stainless and they rattle a bit (I stopped this by installing some extra foam on the inside of it) but apart from that it has been very reliable and would be very difficult to get past. Cheers, ORT

    Can you please provide more details of the bloke who made the roof boat loader need to check specs and weights etc, thanks. #lovethesetup

    • @ourrealitytravels
      @ourrealitytravels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Henry, the boat loader is by Cameron @ Custom Boat Loaders. They are based in Kelmscott in Perth. Have a chat to him and let him know that you've seen mine and want to discuss specs with him, I'm sure he will be happy to help. Cheers

    I think the roof top load stationary of the 200 series is 200kg but it is only 150kg underway.

    • @ourrealitytravels
      @ourrealitytravels  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey mate, 200kg dynamic load rating. One of the only cars with the 200kg rating to make a decent tinny set up possible (apart from utes putting the load through the tray). Feels very sturdy even with the substantial load on the roof.

    Can I please ask where you keep the fuel tank when travelling

    • @ourrealitytravels
      @ourrealitytravels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Lachie, the main fuel tank is stored in a storage compartment which is on the exterior of the van. I also keep a spare jerry can on the rear tyre carrier bar of the caravan. Cheers.

    Did you get the nose of the boat modified to be flat rather than curved to suit the rooftop setup?

    • @ourrealitytravels
      @ourrealitytravels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Dale, the Dart HDW comes from the factory with the flat nose specifically for rooftopping. I've found it to be super practical for not only that but just general use as well. Cheers.

    What type of outboard mount holder are you using for caravan and back of 200?

    • @ourrealitytravels
      @ourrealitytravels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi mate, its an outback accessories outboard bracket which the centre had to be cut out slightly (easy modification) to fit on the ARB rear wheel carrier. Works a treat and carries the 45kg motor no issue. They are hard to find but Cameron at Custom Boat Loaders should be able to point you in the right direction if you cant find one.

    • @elitemotorcycledrivertraining
      @elitemotorcycledrivertraining 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ourrealitytravels what outboard bracket are you using for back of caravan

    • @ourrealitytravels
      @ourrealitytravels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@elitemotorcycledrivertraining The same outback accessories one mounted on a custom rear bar which was initially a rear wheel carrier. The outboard bracket comes with pre punched holes to suit different stud patterns so you should be able to make it work on any wheel carrier set up as long as it is strong enough.

    Gday, love your video. Very informative.
    Just a question, realistically what was the total outlay?
    All included with motor, rack and trailer?
    Is your winch the same as cars or separate?
    Cheers

      Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it. Winch is all part of the custom boat loader. Custom Boat Loader is the brand name, made in WA. Depends on if you want to buy new or hunt around second hand. New you wont get change from 13k, probably a bit more these days. Shop around second hand you could do a lot cheaper. Cheers, ORT
