  • We initially used to man handle the boat on & off the Dmax however we felt that there would be an easier way. Unfortunately, during our research we were not able to find anything that suited us so hopefully if your in the same 'boat' (pun intended) this can help you out too.
    Join us in this video as we show you & explain our DIY custom boat loader. This may help you out if you are planing to incorporate a boat in your set up but are on a budget.
    Feel free to comment if you have any questions or feedback.
    Thanks for watching!

    Love the motor trolley! That's a ripper idea! Better than the other motor mounts on the market, sometimes you can't get the ute right down to the water and carrying a 45kg outboard 50m down to the water is pretty crap!

    Nice setup. I really like your outboard trolley. Clever way of getting it into the ute without any back breaking.

    That boat loader is smart. The rigs in Australia are so different from the overlander rigs here in the USA.
    Side note. If you make a playlist with all your videos your fans can binge watch all your videos and helps with watch time.👍

    Hi guys, I really know how you feel we lived in a caravan for 3 years with our two boys. Yes they seem so small and the walls seem to close in. You have to look after your selves first it’s so important. Also we found even if you have to go on your own go for a good walk and have a good cry if you have to. Very Very important you both have to pull your weight. I must say blokes some times don’t pull there weight especially when there is three kids involved and if that happens you can get really I’ll.also go see a doctor that’s most important 😂😂. Quite honestly Lena I honestly don’t know how you do it mate I think your incredable😊😊. Also how about trying to stay in one place for a bit longer say 3 or 4 days at a time as packing and unpacking is hard work what I am trying to say is just slow down and give your self some time to relax the best you can. You both really do a great job and seem to be loving parents. Good Luck and take care of each other. John🤒🤒

    Mate-fantastic video. I /we have the same set up as you.. BT50 twincab with canopy, Very interested in your motor slide/trolley. looking at making one for my 5hp Yamaha. very interested to know your sizes.
    currently have a light 3m punt which is easy for wife & I to slide on & off but might look at getting something bigger down the track. so might do something like you have.
    will be saving your vidoe clip for future referrences.
    well done mate.

    Sunny and rainy days you have a roof over your heads, better tie it down first, we normally put our swags inside the boat for extra storage room as they are light, atleast you can do the boat on your own and doesn't need 2 to lift it up and down.

    Awesome set up mate! How wide is the Taipan? Got me doing some serious rethinking of my set up now!

    • @elnick.adventures
      @elnick.adventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Greg! sorry for the late reply but the taipan is 1450 mm wide. It’s a head ache trying to get that perfect set up isn’t it. There’s always something that can be added. Good luck with it all.

    That was a great DIY video. Do you know how much your boat/motor/accessories all weigh per chance? Weight is always a deciding factor. I like how low it sits btw

    • @elnick.adventures
      @elnick.adventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hi Anthony thanks for watching!! the boat motor weighs about 45-47 kgs, the boat sits at about 60kgs and I would be pretty confident in saying the accessories would be close to 100 kgs excluding fuel maybe 150 with sounder batteries and tinny mover wheels - we run a pretty basic set up because of weight limits but if there is anything else you would like to know don't hesitate to ask - cheers

    thanks for the video. Im about to make one for mine and will prob copy yours abit. Just one question do you ever find you need/want one of those collapsible trailers?

    • @elnick.adventures
      @elnick.adventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey guys thanks for watching. Not as yet in regards to the trailer. I think it would make life easier but we make do with what we have. Normally we set up next to a river so the boat stays in the water 👍🤠

    Great set up - we are looking to do something similar with our camper trailer. After some additional info on the slot in rollers…. Did you buy the roller on the bracket and have the 2 pins on each welded on?

    • @elnick.adventures
      @elnick.adventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! We made the brackets up and just slot the pins in when we use it (: they stay there (:

      Hi again - we’re working on our set up like this now and wondered how you attached the winch to your canopy racks - did you add a plate or otherwise, or just put it direct to the rack bar? Thanks in advance!

    How do the wheel go in soft sand beach ? Is there a limit or rule to how long the tinny should over hang over the front windscreen of the car ? Thanks for the vid

    • @elnick.adventures
      @elnick.adventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the wheels do dig in a little in the soft sand but we have now worked out that we can drag the boat up the soft sand via the winch on the car (:

    Great set up. Do you have plans of the outboard trolley or did you just make it and adjust as you went?

    • @elnick.adventures
      @elnick.adventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I made it out of wood first being a carpenter then took that to a steel shop and said can you replicate it. Thanks for watching.
