    Justin, you may like to consider placing a small piece of 12ply between the motor and the transom. Steel screwing into alum can cause probs down the road. Just a thought from an ex truckie who has a thing about metal on metal, I claim no expertise and am happy to be corrected if my idea lacks merit. Only a minor thing
    Seriously good looking rig btw!

    Hey love it and your system system works great, but might I make a suggestion you install a swing out boom on rack to lift the outboard and set on the boat using the winch, would be a great back saver and nothing worse than injuring your back while on vacation. And hey was thinking also if you strap trailer to the boat you could flip both over in one go! Cheers from Ontario Canada and good luck fishing. :) Andy

    Hi Justin, I have the same tinny. I had it custom built last year by Alf Stessl in Geelong to use as a roof topper. Alf is the father of Tim in Queensland. These are great boats. I purchased two Tracwedge sideport gunwale mounts for my tinny after watching your videos but they won't fit in the gunwale. I thought looking at your video they were the ones. Can you advise what you have used. They look like very good products. Thanks

    Great set up, works for you which is the main thing! With the sounder/jump starter - how do you find your set up? I imagine you have the wires from the transducer/power cables hardwired in the tinny and then just plug in the finder and jump starter when you want to use it? Do you find the transducer gets in the way when removing the tinny from the roof? Would be expensive to snap off haha. Hope you're enjoying SA!

    Do you have a spare fuel tank or you don't really go too far to worry

    Can you take the boat off the ute and put it straight onto the boat trailer without having to double handle it and re winch it on to the trailer

    • @TripInAVan
      @TripInAVan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stacey Cree sure can, just park the trailer at the back of car. Really easy to winch on, taxes about 26seconds 👌

    • @staceycree524
      @staceycree524 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Was just wondering because you put it on the ground first and then wlnched it on the boat trailer, thought it would be easier to land it straight on the trailer

    Hey Justin I have a Top Tracker and tried fitting the Railblaza fittings to the rail. No luck they don’t fit and when I asked the store they looked on the Railblaza site and they state that they don’t fit the Mako Craft Top Tracker. Did you modify the piece that fit inside the rail? Thanks mate

    Hi Justin, great vid! Hey I also have ordered a 376 for roof topping. I ordered the casting platform too but am thinking of cancelling it before it goes into production due to weight. Can I ask your thoughts if perhaps the casting deck would make it too heavy. I also optioned black ops package, rear boarding step, front electric motor mount and starboard side pocket to mount the sounder on. Thanks again

  • @tapevans87
    @tapevans87 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey Justin. Your sounder looks like it sits solid. What did you secure it to the seat with so you can remove it when it goes on the roof? Is that railblaza also?

    • @TripInAVan
      @TripInAVan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bracket is mounted permanently to seat yeah. Then just undo the side knobs on sounder to remove

    • @TripInAVan
      @TripInAVan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nath4x4 Moyle yeah mate you sure can. Just place the trailer at the back of the car. Only takes 24 seconds to crank it on with the winch though 🤙

    Could you not drop it straight onto the trailer, rather than the ground and then hauling it onto the trailer. Nice setup overall.
