if they are going PVE focused, they should give us unlimited flight, focus on gear looks/wing upgrades for stats, and let us explore and play how we want, focus on dungeons, open world content, raids. Aion 2 could be the most amazing MMO they ever released, if they'd only focus on giving the players what they want, battlegrounds, arenas, sieges for pvp players, but make the sieges instanced like raids.
That's what their plan is, more freedom, more flying and more focus on PvE. But you also have to recognize that we haven't gotten any real news about Aion 2 for quite a while, so we don't know how their plans are working and if those plans stayed the same.😅
You mention that 400 years might be too little to play around if they intend to support the game for a long time, and that made me think, how much time has passed in the live version of the game? because i have no ideia XD
Short Answer: Aion 1.0 starts in the year 750 - 800 A.C. and in 5.0 we are at least 1000 A.C. (A.C. = After Cataclysm) Long Answer: It's a bit hard to say, but 250 A.C. is when the first big rift in Verteron appeared (with Deltras and the Stormlegion) 750 A.C. is when the Book of Elyos and the Book of Asmodians have been released which both are in the game in 1.0 and 1000 A.C. is mentioned in a later Patch (In 5.0). "He laid low for a thousand years and slowly forged a new approach to his plan as he started to operate under the guise of Lephar and founded the Lepharist Revolutionaries." The wording here is a bit questionable and could be understood as we are 1000 years A.C. but we know that Aion 2 is before the Cataclysm and plays 900 years before the first game, so the first Aion game has to be at the latest in 800 A.C. I do not know if we got any more hints for the timeline in later patches, I do not play retail aion anymore and focus on Aion classic now. The reason I mentioned 400 years was because I wanted to be a bit more generous, Aion had retconned it's story before and if they simply decide to ignore the Book of Elyos/Asmodians then the time window would be much bigger. Because if we take my estimate, we would only have up to 150 years before the Cataclysm happens in Aion 2. 🤓
Asmodae has many interesting connections with the Balaur Lords! I personally always found Kurngalfberg very interesting (Storybook: Frozen in Time) aionpowerbook.com/powerbook/Storybook_-_Frozen_in_Time
These locations look wonderful ❤
