I also have a 6’ tank. I am running 3 G3Pros and am looking to upgrade. Are you saying with the dispersion of the G6s that I would only need two lights. That would be a great savings for me.
The g6 have way more speeds over. G3. It would be a big upgrade. Now mind you the Par is lower as your taking that cone of light abs speeding it over a much wider area. They have amazingly even par coverage! Now for bow many. Mixed reef you can get away with two. If acro heavy I would prob still use 3 (but I also like to overkill things) so depends on the tank /scape/ types of coral
But they match the lights suspended with rubber coated gardening wire! haha . Don't worry they were temporary. as i kept moving the lights to different config every day of the week to test out diff scenarios. they are all pretty now that im done testing :)
I'm sorry, I just have to say, all of these leds are WAY TO expensive. I feel like saltwater hobbyists are getting robbed. These companies will never want to sponsor my channel 🙂
@@ReefDudes hahaha, skylight costs more than leds and not as reliable weatherwise... I'll stick with DIY, I'm actually pretty shocked people putting up with these prices and continually upgrading. I guess a whole new breed of people in the hobby 🙂to each their own...
Never had radians got some iA LEDs and I agree with the guy LEDs are way too expensive mine started going bad after about two-and-a-half years tell you the truth I wouldn't mind going back to the vho the thing that really pisses me off about LEDs they charge you extra for a mounting bracket to me that's total BS they're already robbing you once and they want to rob a second time
@@ReefDudes I’m going to start out with more beginner friendly and forgiving corals and the more affordable species. I’d eventually like to get to some of the more advanced sps ones. My top priority is high success, moderate complexity, low to moderate cost, and gaining experience and knowledge.
@@slackreviews you may be able to get away with a 15 on a 3' tank. I would start with one xr15 and down the road you could always add a nother if needed. a 30 would be more than enough.. but 1 maybe 2 15s would let you grow anything own the road as well :)
I wonder how they compare with the sky with spread and Not having a lot of shadows. I have a 3 foot tank and only won't to run 1 light I'm stuck between the 2
I still have one of each on the tank mixed wiht my G5s ill prob do the G6 pro upgrade at some point so they all match :) as awesome as the blue pop is i still love the white cirspy look in the day time.

Nice review! Just got the G5’s 6 months ago and I’m happy with them, so will be sticking with those for a few years. The bigger spread is awesome tho.

Easiest tell (Atleast on mine) serial number for g5s start with a 5 and the G6 start with a 6

I think you could get away with it for a mixed reef depending on the scape

Do you feel G6 has less shimmer (due to the bigger spread it is less "point source")?
I mainly use with diffusers so hard hard to day 100%. I’ll take them
