    Jose Mourinho’s shock signing with AS Roma has looked great in the very early days of the project. Along with General Manager of Football Tiago Pinto and with the support of Dan Friedkin as the owner, AS Roma are putting a legitimate side on the pitch for the first time since 2018’s Champions League run, and are now being considered Serie A contenders. So far, with signings like Tammy Abraham and Mathias Viña, Mourinho is improving the club from the Eternal City.

      Not really a “massive upgrade” because that would be an unfair comparison from Mou’s perspective. One is a coach the other one is some guy Roma hired from Ukraine who did everything to lose games.

    • @niceguyst
      @niceguyst 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      With Mou it will start out great but sooner or later it will turn sour and toxic (after Mou gets critized for a while and player-coach relationships start to hurt bad). Maybe by the end of this season or next season. By tradition season three is a lost case. Let us hope it takes that long and good stuff will come out season 1 and 2.

    UEFA conference will be in Roma's locker room for sure. Mourinho is a winner! He's a special one, the mater tactician and a game changer. I wish he comes back his beloved home, Real Madrid and complete the good job he had started on. His spirit of hard work that he has inacted into Real Madrid some 12 years ago is still felt. He was the turning point of Real Madrid, resulting in winning several trophies including the 4 UCL titles, 4 la Ligas, 2 copas, 3 USCs, 4 CWCs and now, the next UCL title is imminent come 20 days ahead in Paris. He should come back to Madrid and win UCL title as he is more than deserved.

    The problem with Mourinho is a lack of support as players these days have more power than coaches. The players in the current Roma squad are young, hungry and want to prove themselves so I dont think things will turn sour in the locker room. And it seems like the Roma management will give Mourinho support even when the team hits a slump instead of piling the pressure on the coach.

    This video aged pretty well, like fine wine. Mourinho by season end gives the club and crucially the players a taste of what winning a trophy tastes like. Some may sniff at the conference league Europa but for a team and players not used to winning pots, this is a great step in the right direction. They were never going to win serie a just now. Nor the CL or UEFA. Maybe Coppa d Italia, but the pot they won gives the team and players a nice spring board for the season to come. I say this as a big Jose fan and a Man Utd as well.
    People forget that at Utd, Ronaldo's first trophy was the Carling cup.

    I think the most important thing about Roma is like what you wrote in the title, "Ambitious Owners". I think that is what is most important in modern football.
    Having Ambitious Owners is extremely important.
    The last true ambitious owner I know of is Roman Abramovich, too bad he has to sell off Chelsea.
    The most "UNambitious owners" I have ever seen are the Glazers at United.

    Rome wasnt built in a day, so goes the saying. This is a project in the making and it needs every romanista,s support. Just look at the squad jose is moulding. The average age of these youngsters is 24. They have already started with a bang. These youngsters have fire in their belly, very energetic and eager to show what they are made of. They are ready to play for the team. Its unlike the dele allis, the bales, the winks, and the sissokos of tottenham whose sole purpose was to sabotage jose. Since jose left man united 4 yrs ago with 3 trophies what has united won ever since, zero. We already have some negative minded jose detractors wishing him hell. They hounded him out of the english league and he settled where he is loved, the serie A. Already jose is making waves and some these guys are envious of him. Sit back, relax and watch jose build this kidznet into a ferocious predator

    Fonseca did a great job with the material he had 💛🧡❤ he didn't have Zaniolo for a long time because of injuries. He reached the semifinal of Europa League which is overall a better result than winning Conference League.
    In Serie A Mourinho didn't do better than him even adding Abraham and with Zaniolo back being close to his supposed level... but I'm not criticising JM, our level is around 5th/6th places. He built a great team chemistry and between supporters and the team as well.
    The fact is simply that the AS Roma, coming from though years since Champions League semifinal, is building year by year and can aim to improve greatly starting from 22-23 season.
    💛🧡❤⚽️🏆🥇

    AS Roma should practice shooting outside the box as much as possible. Because Tottenham also have Harry Kane and Son Heung Min can finish from outside the box very well. When playing against teams with strong defences, long-range shots will give Roma more chances to win.
