found your videos through the recommended tab and i'll be honest, i clicked on it from the thumbnail alone cause your fursona (i assume) is so well designed, but i subscribed from the wonderful videos and good taste. But i MUST make a recommendation for one of your videos: Astral Ascent. i think it's one of the most underrated roguelikes, almost no one seems to be talking about it even after it's added so much more content! i'd love to hear your review on it!
Good to know! I will say every two weeks (so next week) I am doing Roguelike spotlight viewers choice and on that video you can recommend it there! But I will still keep my eye out on it! Thank you so much for the complements as well! Ironically it's not my sona its just another character/mascot if you want to call it that!
Thanks for recommending the game Rabbit! Its nice to hear the game reviewed and broken down too. It did give me a giggle when you showed off the 3 cards by different artists but it was a ruse, those 3 artists were all me! The other artists drew the Critter cards and came up with some amazing pieces. As for dotty, she has been changed to doubling the first card each turn, potentially still busted but you dont get 2 cards before to plan it out. Thanks again
Of course! And wow honestly pulled one over on me! Also I’m glad to hear dotty was changed a bit I will have to try her out! Still might be a the front runner on power but gives less options for set up. Thank you too for letting me get an early look! And great job on the game!
The dual energy cards that specifically give primary type plus another are useful because they can be used on any critter regardless of their type to get another energy type. Say you're running 3 pure fire types, but have a really good skill that requires 1 nature. You only have 2 options. The 1 nature energy card, or the primary + nature one. Also can be useful for 2 type critters to get 1 of each of their types instead of two of the same type.
This is fair but at least in my experience I see no real reason to play a two color ability if you are running 3 pure fire types unless you are leaning into so gimmick. Especially since all the single typing have their own energetic cards. I can see you build for it but I feel like they are still underwhelming in most scenarios.
@@roguelikerabbit There's a few good two type energy requirement cards that can be helpful even when running a mono type setup. Also there's situations where you aren't really making use of whatever the other two energy cards do give. Really good example of a two type card that is certainly worth playing is Swampy Wave. Attacking all, and applying soak, and applying poison is pretty good, and if the only cost to my deck to play it is to sub one of my two energy cards for an energy + primary, I'd say that's worth it. There's also the cards like shock puddles that set up spots on all 3 enemy/ally spaces that require two types. One of the second character's starters has a signature card that gives your entire team dodge and status immune that is two type. There's quite a few examples.
@@nivalisilva that’s fair there are uses sadly I personally never found them really desirable especially for being rare but you are right there are some really good cards for it. So maybe they are better than I give them credit for! I do still wish they didn’t cost a card or were more plentiful in any case!
@@roguelikerabbit They would be silly broken if they didn't cost a card use, but it would be very funny. If you're looking for something that's actually less useful than it would seem, it's the card that costs a card use and gives 1 rainbow energy. Not only is rainbow not very useful, there's also a card that literally does the same exact thing, but gives 3.
In regards to the game's graphics, it *really* makes me think of all of those really weird, obscure Gamecube games. Amazing Island, Cubivore, Chibi Robo, and other similar games where there's less focus on graphical fidelity and more on the style and feel of the art. It doesn't need to look super-detailed and clean to look *good*
Aww thanks. I was aiming for an animal crossing style for the characters but it turns out its a polarising art style. It also helped me create a lot of characters quickly as I'm a solo dev
I'd recommend checking out the developer's other game, Fuzz Force: Spook Squad. It gives off similar vibes (with a theme of board games instead of trading cards) and some of the characters you mentioned not being playable are playable in that game.
Got your video recommended on my fyp and someone who adores roguelikes this video seemed like a nice time waster, that being said, for such a small channel the quality of the content is amazing and i sincerely hope the best in your youtube career :)
I really like your character pngs you use for your videos! Did you make them yourself or use an artist? I would love to commission! Great video by the way! ❤
I’m glad you like him! I did not make them myself they were actually made by my best friend Cruddie arts! I know her commissions are closed this exact moment but I’m sure she would happy in the future here is her Twitter! x.com/cruddiearts?s=21&t=23S0tYbZ1XjBmQZ-aFxlfg
Trading Cards WIsh I could say memories about card trading, even though I collected MTG, Pokemon and Yu-gi-oh, no one reeally cared for them here😭. But at least this game is very tempting to see how it could have been, so definitely tempted to get it! Great video, very convincing, I will now proceed to abuse Dotty combos!
Aw that’s really a shame but I do understand that I used to collect yugioh cards as a kid but no one would play with me. It was all Pokémon when I was younger. Now I’ve shifted to playing mtg and still collect Pokémon card. And dotty was nerfed probably for the better but hey instead of nuking on turn one you can nuke on turn two!
@@SapphireManee Nice nice I love the designs of pokemon cards so I have to keep a hold of them. As for Mtg I play mainly commander minus some sealed events I do either with friends or at shops
Fun fact, pokemon shifted away from: "catch them all" And is leaning more into the friendship theme (mostly because in recent titles, you cannot in fact, catch them all, as not all pokemon natively appear in every game) Thus, saying it should carry minimal risk of getting sued into oblivion (NOT LEGAL ADVICE)
I didn't know it was a thing! I ironically am not a big fan of playing the pokemon tcg but the collector in me needs this thank you for letting me know lol
@@roguelikerabbit yea i remember trying the normal tcg but dropping it pretty fast I like the simplified version of pocket though and since its new i get the chance to learn the ropes before it gets big in the future lmao

Yes! I agree! It's all about the feel more than seeing every detail on a character. It gives more life to the actual art of making a game!
