  • For my fellow Mirage enthusiasts. As promised, I have made this video to show just how easy it is to add fog lights to your 2014-2022 Mitsubishi Mirage.
I bought my kit from eBay, but there may be other places that sell them. The entire install took less than an hour and cost less than $100. They wanted $500 to do it at the dealership!

That only started the procedure for my 2018 mirage es. Going through the activation process worked for the long 3 sec beep
    But didn't activate the lights.
To finish the activation process I had to after the 3 sec beep I turned the fog switch back on then I heard a 1 sec beep.
Then I shut off the motor
    Then restarted the car
Turned on the headlights then turned on the fog light switch.
That activated the fog light icon on the dash and the lights are finally working!
I mixed two sets of you tube instructions to get them to work!

Thanks for making this tutorial Eric! Super helpful. I got my foglights installed but am running into some issues with the programing that I was hoping you could shed some addtional light on. Now, I have a 2024 model so could be that the sequence was changed on newer models. After opening and closing the door 5 times I switch. The fog lights on and it does beep for a little longer then 3 seconds maybe 5 or 6... But then nothing. With that said do you flick the lights on or do you leave the foglight dial rotated into the on potion the whole time. I read that after the initial 3 sexonds your supposed to here an aditional quick beep if its successful. There was one time that I got two back to back beeps after the long beep but according to forums i read that means its unsuccessful. But yeah do you just flick it on or leave it held?

I finally had scuess by running the cycle but with the ignition on but the engine Not running. Also disconnected the battery with the doors open then closed in order of front passanger door around to drivers door. Also buckeled both drivers and front passanger seats. Not sure of the exact sequence but I did it about 20 times and it worked. I also just used my finger on thedoor jamb buttom to cycle the door. So my advise is for the 2023 is try the sequence with the key on acessory and ignition but not running the car as with the engine running on the 2023 did not seem to work. Not sure why it worked this time but it worked. So keep fooling around at maybe you will get lucky.

Do all Mirage models come with a place for a switch to turn the fog lights on and off, or do they always come on with the low beams? I watched your 2021 Mirage review. I think the body style is much better now than it was in 2014. The weird line created between the front end and the hood to make room for the Mitsubishi logo for some reason stands out to me and ruins the look of the 2014 model. I've never seen a hood designed like that. The price you paid for your 2021 Miraga is better than many used Mirage prices I've seen online.

A few things to look at- Some times if you upgrade to LED's it might not work correctly, you might have to put the bulbs in that the kit came with. Does the light come on the dash? If not, it might not be activated correctly. Also, sometimes the dealers are not the best ones to trust.

Does anybody know what capacity does that Relay has? 40A?
I see it is a 4pin relay, but how many amps is it?

15 will be plenty, but I had a 20 amp around so I used that.

What autosorcery is this? Put on your seatbelt, start the car, then open and close the door 5 times quickly.
Dude that spell is like word for word from Harry Potter.

Ha, there is no sorcery here.

@@FarpointFarms Yeah just a mechanic who knows a trick or two.
Keep up the Mirage videos if you have anything more to share. There aren't enough vids out on the newer refresh. Was cool to see how your wife's is decked out with OEM mats and sills. Gives it a "proud to own" feel.

I tried so many different versions of this and what finally worked on my 2020 G4 LE was (Seemed like a far shorter then 10 second window so move fast):
    1) Sat in drivers seat buckled in and key out of ignition completely (and windows down so I could close the doors fast)
    2) Opened all doors
    3) Start your countdown..... close passenger front
    4) Closed Passenger rear
    5) Closed drivers Rear
    6) Closed drivers door
    7) Started car and opened and closed the drivers door 5 times
    8) Turned and held the switch until I heard a long beep and released
    9) Turned and held until I heard a short beep and released
    10) Shut off car and when I started it again the switch worked as long as the low beams are on
I even disabled and enabled a second time to test it out and it worked again without issue. You can enable the switch without adding the relay under the hood, should still see the light on the dash green up. Hope this helps someone else....

    Update:
I was so happy that turned the fog switch operative (with the help of my wife) that I THOUGHT that the Fog Lights gone alive, unfortunately a wishful thinking :(
Yes the switch and the relative lamp on the dashboard lights up but not the front fog lights, still operate as DLR.
    Any ideas are welcome
Fog Switch Activation, as described here and by fellow @user-qj3tp7jk7i worked for me too:
    1) Keys off the ignition
    2) seated & buckled in the driver seat
    3) opened all 4 doors
    4) closed doors in sequence: front passenger, rear passenger, rear driver's, driver's
    5) keys on ignition & turn on engine
    6) open & close quickly 5 titimes the driver door
    7) switch & hold upwards fog switch till hear long beep, then release
    8) once again switch on fog switch till short beep
    9) turn off the engine.
    That was it :)
