Captain Marvel didn’t only make a billion dollars because it was between Infinity War and Endgame but also because it was directly linked to the 2 movies by the end credit scene of Infinity War. These aren’t the only reasons but personally I believe it was a definite factor in helping the movie cross the billion dollar mark.

I absolutely think Hugh Jackman deserves to at least be considered for a lifetime achievement award. His dedication to the role and the physical aspect has helped shape the movie industry for the last quarter of a century. Both in terms of the significance of the genre and how a lot of actors have approached roles since he set the standard.
I feel like the captain marvel thing is completely different. They teased her in the mid credit scene of Infinity war which absolutely helped. Ant man was barely even mentioned in Infinity war, Captain marvel literally had a set up for her. Also Captain marvel had a set for Endgame which I'm sure helped
Speaking as someone who liked the Captain Marvel movie, Ant Man's performance far below $1B doesn't support Captain Marvel's End Game bump not being a thing. More practically it meant that Ant-Man would have made even less had it not been for IF and EG timing, and so would have CM... ...however, what applies to CM's bump also applies to other movies that people didn't like that still performed high (IM2, IM3) because the early concept of serialization of a franchise of franchises played a part in a lot of them making $500M+ that wouldn't have on their own. We just have no way of knowing what % bump attributes to AM and CM, so that movie's earnings needs not be challenged.

I liked them back when they were 5-8 minutes, but when they went to 15-20 minutes (and sometimes longer) it became a chore to watch them. They got too nick picky, which made them less fun to watch.
I thought The Terminal had its moments but overall the story made no sense. And of course, like Titanic, they had to try to shoe horn a love story into it.
