I would bump Coco off the list John presented (I don't think it's underrated in my circle anyway.) and put A Bug's Life in at No. 2. Everyone seems to even forget it exists. Top 3 Pixar for me.
Coppola only sold one of his vineyards and his brand. He still owns 2 vineyards and has equity in Delecto that bought his existing vineyard and brand. So, I'm bummed that this movie isn't going to make him whole but he still has plenty of land that he owns.
I think it’s important to mention that another filmmaker also recently put his own money on the line and that is M. Night Shyamalan’s Trap. Which if we’re calculating with a marketing budget the size of the production budget (which it probably did have) actually broke even.
1:30:15 I would love to see a live-action television adaptation of Fire Emblem: Three Houses. I think of all the Fire Emblem games, Three Houses is probably the one most adequate for a television show especially with its characters. It could be a great show about war and the political schemes of Fodlan if done well. The way I would pitch it is doing an adaptation of the Crimson Flower route (Edelgard’s road) because Edelgard is at the center of a lot of that game’s conflicts. However, you also use story elements of the other roads to tell a complete story of Three Houses and get some sort of golden ending at the end.
But it wasn't called Part 1, or even Episode 1 or Episode 4, when it first released. It was later changed to Episode 4 before the second film came out, and by that point no one cared if they were parts or not.
If Armor Wars is cancelled it's bc Secret Invasion painted them into a corner of having to make sense of Rhodie being a Skrull since phase 2. That decision put the writers of Armor Wars in a bad position. A rough script was already written and there's no use for it now, so they are most likely just going to scrap it entirely. You can't have an Armor Wars series being overshadowed by the bad writing choices of the previous show, unless you want a complete sh*t show.
I think about sneakers almost every single day because my warehouse that I work in has motion activated lights and I always try to walk as slowly as I possibly can to see if I can get past the lights without the sensors going off! LMAO! I’ll throw my hat in the ring for best heist movie directed by Frank Oz, and stars Robert De Niro, Marlon Brando and Edward Norton in the”The Score”! That movie was fantastic and I usually watch it at least once a year!
For the first time in a while I do NOT agree with John statement of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice of been trash and aweful. It wasn't. It was quite entertaining. But I do agree of the fact that the Willem Defoe and Monica Belluci characters were wasted and did nothing to the plot. I think ( like Jonathan said ) John just took the movie way too seriously.
I prefer to know when a movie is ‘part 1’ I remember my anger watching Pirates of Caribbean 2 for two and a half hours only to find out it was just half of the story.
Disney are getting terrible at forward momentum... How long do we have to wait for a de-Starked Spider-Man, that should have been put into turnaround before No Way Home was out of theatres!!! How do we have a new Rhino before Michael Mando as Scorpion, or Donald Glover as Prowler... HOW?!!! Ideally we need another Spidey TRILOGY BEFORE Secret Wars!!!
My disturbed brain, when they mentioned people dressing up as Mufasa, pictured a lion mask, with a card board cutout wildebeest on a stick attached to your back, as if it’s trampling you, and fake blood all over you. 😁 I’m normal I swear
i usually dont agree on johns taste in movies...i dont think people like suspending reality for a movie any more...i dont think he likes tim burton at all...edward scissorhands was weird too and had douche bags and corny scenes...still a good movie.
Yeah. That's the thing. All subjective. I dont agree with him on things. Some things I do. But you saying "people don't like suspending reality" is odd. Sure. Some. But thats sorta irrelevant. It depends on the thing. To make that assumption is just weird.
Yeah me neither. I think he has a jaded sort of taste in movies idk. Tbh I really find him a tad bit critical or negative most of the time. But yeah to each their own. Like he always says, art is subjective.
There seems to be a track record now of sequels, coming out 30 years after their source material, that are just lame as hell. They just don't know how to write these sequels that makes sense and works for the original cast.
Im personally intrigued with Armor Wars after secret invasion storyline with Rhodes, seems he was switched after he got paralyzed in Civil War...if thats the case he missed almost 10 years of his life (2 yrs between civil war & infinity war, 5 years between infinity war & endgame, & however many after endgame) and would've made for great story telling him learning to walk again, dealing with Tony's death, the snap and everything else he missed
I wanted to thank you for turning me onto the movie Abigail. I thought it was fantastic. In fact, Marvel should give the screenwriters from Abigail a shot at the Blade movie. If they haven't decided to scrap the film.
@@alexp601 The Blade movies were rated R(limited audience) and were also not depending on the success of a cinematic universe or nostalgia to make money like all marvel movies usually do. Gassing up Shang chi is like being impressed by a rich kid who just bought a house at 21.
The non-Euro (non-white) leads, original Marvel characters with their own title (at least within the MCU) are having mind-bogglingly difficult times getting moving at Marvel "We are pro-diversity" Studios... Hm. 🤦🏿♂️
@@VDOTU5 I don't think the skin color of the cast for those films has anything to do with the films being potentially canceled. It probably boils down to a lack of direction and quality of script. I'd much rather they do those films well or not at all instead of pumping out mediocre product.
@@Aquarat86 May not be confirmed to be "the" or "a" reason, but Agatha's show got moving faster than the 'Armor Wars' series ever did before being set as a movie. And between announcement (2018) and filming (2020), Shang-Chi's movie had more activity than Blade's had in the past 5 years. Similar to how the Milestone/DC animated movie about a team of all original Afro-American heroes: Static, Hardware, Icon, Rocket, has taken longer than any other DC animated movie announced around the same time (2021). They are making it difficult for me to not wonder if being relatively independent Afro superheroes is making some story developers not care enough to get these developed.
Yeah John is so far off the mark here it’s crazy. You don’t like it, cool, but these segments of you just tearing up a film just bc you don’t like it are insufferable.
I agree, I don't like that film at all. So a 13 year old wants to go for an expensive show with her other 13 year old friends, parents should just say yes, not just that but be silent banks, say yes to everything.
I thought Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was fantastic. John is way off the mark (IMO).
Fantastic? Hell no
Somewhat decent? Perchaps
I thought it was ok. Was it worth waiting over 30 years? No. The movie is stylish with absolutely no plot.
I had fun, my dad and I had a great time
Beetle juice beetle juice is funny & good what is John on about? My theater was laughing the entire time 😭
Beetlejuice is far from terrible, not sure what movie John watched.
No John we won’t stop with the Wesley snipes blade. Get over it.
I would bump Coco off the list John presented (I don't think it's underrated in my circle anyway.) and put A Bug's Life in at No. 2. Everyone seems to even forget it exists. Top 3 Pixar for me.
Og Blade is a tough act to follow. If it can't be right, why bother with a remake?
I liked Beetlejuice Beetlejuice! I throughly enjoyed it ! It’s too bad you didn’t like it, John.
Just do an Old Man Blade, and call it a day

Heat is my favorite heist movie
YESSS!!! Exactly
Count me in for liking Beetlejuice Beetlejuice 👍
Heat is the best heist movie of all time
Seeing Ray go through the 5 stages of grief when asked about blade absolutely kills me hahahahahaha
Armor Wars and Blade were on my top list. Geez
"star wars wasn't called part 1" bad example because the second star wars movie was called part 5
But it wasn't called Part 1, or even Episode 1 or Episode 4, when it first released. It was later changed to Episode 4 before the second film came out, and by that point no one cared if they were parts or not.
Loved Beetlejuice Beetlejuice! Protect Cathrine O’Hara at all cost lol
Best heist movie and better then the original: The Thomas Crown Affair.
What about Heat?!
@@michaeloftaoism nah, it's okay.
🤣
@@Valkyrie77 you're out of your damn mind if you say it's "okay" 🤣
I’m interested in Armor Wars. Especially when early speculation included Justin Hammer returning! 👍
Hammer was a great representation of the industrialized military complex etc

There’s a lot of anger behind those eyes 🤔

I love coco it reminded me of my relationship with my grandmother, first time I was tearing up
Y'all should do a First Time watch along of Onward with Ann and Ray
The Italian job remake is atrocious doesn't even come. Close to the original Michael Caine version

John can finally say “Megalopolis” correctly.
Beetlejuice Beatlejuice was cooky, weird, and Tim Burton camp. It was pretty fun, I enjoyed it for the most part.
For the Pixar you should do it for the Disney Live Action Remakes because there are some good ones and I’m curious to know which ones others like
John did a list guys!,
He makes lists all the time. He just doesn't like making up lists on the spot without any prep, which is understandable.

Monsters University is one of my favorite Pixar movies, so hilarious.

I love musicals and saw Wicked at the West End but wasn't a fan and because of that the trailers have done nothing for me.

Yeah it's the era of the memberberry movies (which I'd say started with The Force Awakens)
Tower Heist is 1 of my favorite Heist Movies!
1:38:43 Will WB cancel the Minecraft movie for a tax write off after that trailer?

I want to play Star Wars outlaw but I don't have a PS5

Kris there is a Goku mod for that Black Myth Wukong game.
Called Beetlejuice top 10 worst 😂😂, ONLY ONE BLADE !! 🐐❕
Most underrated Pixar movie is The Good Dinosaur
For me, that's one of the worst Pixar films. Maybe the worst, if we don't count the cars/planes sequels.
John leaving out how much the direct to video Lion King movies made. lol
I'll take a welsey snipes blade over a shang chi 2 which barely broke even anyday
