  • Japanese Professional Baseball is AWESOME! The Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) league is Japans Major League Baseball. The games are action filled and the atmosphere is insane! The crowd gets into it like nothing I have ever seen. Also who doesn't love BEER GIRLS??? Going to this baseball game was one of my favorite things of the whole trip! I hope you all enjoy!

Brandon T., you never know. You could try to get a job there.
Japan has a labor problem due to low birth rates with the last couple of generations. Japan has to IMPORT labor. Depending on your skillset, you might be able to find a job. I knew people who worked construction jobs. Sure, you need to speak some Japanese, but in manual labor positions they didn’t care so much about reading Kanji as long as you could speak some and understand basic instructions.
Or, you could try to get a job as a language teacher. I knew a lot of language teachers.
Don’t give up, especially on yourself.
      👍🏻

@@ThrashRebel I'm trying to learn japanese. It's really hard remembeing with ADHD. But I'm trying and I hope my meds will kick in in a few weeks. I'm 35 and I feel like by the time I'm able as an american, it will be too late in life. I don't make much money either.

    • @ThrashRebel
      @ThrashRebel 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Brandon T., nah man. You can learn it. You can forget it, too.
I learned and spoke more Japanese when I taught English, there. I learned more, because I asked students how they would say English phrases in Japanese. Then, I would repeat the phrases in Japanese then in English to help reinforce it for them and in doing so, reinforced it for myself.
However, after I stopped teaching English and started working for an American organization I began to get “rusty.”
I started teaching English in Japan when I was 35. But, if you don’t use it, you lose it. My son’s first language is Japanese (I met my wife there and our son was born and raised there till age 9). However, since moving to the United States, he’s forgotten a lot. My wife, usually, speaks Japanese with him, exclusively, as that is how she communicated with him since his birth. He understands it, but struggles to speak it, now.
Get yourself some Pimsleur Japanese CDs. Listen to them and practice them, often. Listen to them at low volume whilst sleeping. That helps you, subliminally.
Try to find other Japanese speakers and SPEAK with them.
You’ll get it. If I could, you can. I kind of have ADHD, a little (but also OCD 😂).
Don’t give up. Just learn some and practice. My wife took me to Kashiwa city hall (in Chiba-ken), where they offered classes for foreigners. They taught how to not only speak, but to read Japanese. Reading is really important for certain types of jobs.
Kanji is a pain. But, you can learn with a hybrid Kanji/Hiragana book (hiragana above the complicated Kanji). Hiragana and Katakana are easy. It’s the Kanji that can be difficult.

@@ThrashRebel the reason I'm trying to learn japanese is because I like games and anime and want to be able to read the text in games and even understand them. At the moment I have this problem where I think of the word in English when I hear the word that I know in Japanese Is that normal?

I've never left the country before but Japan is at the top of the list of places to go. I'd love to go there and check out everything, but I'd most definitely have to go to a baseball game while I'm there. As much as I love MLB, it doesnt hold a candle to the atmosphere of a Japanese baseball game. I can only imagine what it's like being there in person.

Nice. Since you're from the UK. I'll put it like this: Tampa Bay Rays (and their stadium) is West Hampton. The Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers: Man U, Man City, Arsenal. If you want ATMOSPHERE...try the Rogers Centre (Canada) during MLB playoffs. I've gone to quiet a few MLB games, and a few soccer games in Europe, I'll say this: the best atmosphere for me in MLB was when a group of 12 Englishmen were sitting in my section at Petco Park, San Diego. They were LOUD, and I felt like i was watching a football match. When they belted out "Daydream Believer" I jumped in. Unfortunately, we were the only ones.
Japanese baseball...THAT'S atmosphere. Got smashed with their "iced chu-hi" in Yokohama. If you ever get the chance to watch a Japanese baseball game in person, do it. Especially Yokohama or the Hanshin Tigers. Their culture is crazy organized though, and if you somehow get too into the game, and you shout and chant outside of the organized groups, then you'll probably be the only one in the stadium doing so. My voice carried all over that stadium when i made that "mistake".
