If a former American baseball fan sees a Hanshin Tigers game at Koshien Stadium, his or her passion for baseball may return. That's how interesting a Hanshin Tigers game at Koshien Stadium is! If baseball lovers come to Japan, I recommend seeing a Hanshin Tigers game at Koshien Stadium. The earth-shaking cheering by Hanshin Tigers fans is something you will never experience in MLB.

Japanese "YAKYU" baseball was derived uniquely from American-style baseball and took more than 100 years to achieve. The fact is that on this same planet, there is another baseball that exists in a different spirit than the US style. Of course, the roots of baseball are USA(or UK), but baseball that was exported to other countries from USA and took root there developed in a different way. This would be a fact. 2023 WBC was the day that ”Japanese YAKYU” defeated the home of ”American-style baseball”. Another way to describe this is to say that it was a battle between Japanese-style "ZEN-INーYAKYU” baseball, which emphasizes "Teamwork among all players", and American-style baseball, which emphasizes "Individual power players", and it was a day when ZEN-INーYAKYU (Teamwork-oriented organizational baseball) won.
@@otaviofrnazario Thank you for your response. Japan is a country whose culture has developed since ancient times based on the teaching that people should cooperate with each other and maintain a peaceful life. The idea of freedom is probably fundamentally a bit different than in the West. Ironically, baseball itself may be a sport that is more suited to the Japanese national character, which from the start considers strategic actions based on organizational skills, than it is to the United States or the United Kingdom, where it originated. Baseball is played not one-on-one, but with nine players, advancing one base at a time and scoring only after reaching home base. With the exception of HRs, this is the basic rule. As you can see, baseball is a game that requires very organized and collective action. It is a game in which one superhero with some outstanding ability does not necessarily score more runs than the opposing team. It is a game in which the nine players who make up a team cooperate with each other in offensive and defensive situations to score more runs than the opposing team while utilizing the characteristics and individuality of each physical ability. Thus, baseball is not by nature a game that prioritizes individual play, but a game in which organized cooperative action produces results as a team. In Japan, in order to secure each person's private freedom in his or her own sphere of life, they act in public so as not to cause trouble for each other and others. Each cooperates and acts with the other by suppressing their own selfishness and private desires as much as possible. It is a rule to act separately in public and private situations. This is because by doing so, they can avoid each other from having unexpected problems in public, they do not waste time, and everyone can continue their daily lives peacefully. In Japan, the idea that everyone should understand this with each other in public and cooperate with each other equally, regardless of status, age, gender, and identity, is deeply rooted in the Japanese mind. This is because it is an efficient way to create a safe and secure environment in which people can live each day in a public place with other strangers. Especially in situations of natural catastrophes and other situations where everyone is severely affected, priority should be given to actions to solve the problem by actively cooperating with each other, without complaining, for early recovery that is in the common interest of all, without individual selfishness. Thus, Japanese people are not afraid to act collectively toward the same goal as long as the objective is clear. This Japanese way of thinking is behind Otani's selfless behavior, such as his insistence on contributing to the team's victory rather than his individual performance in a game, and his easy donation of his winnings. The game of baseball, which was imported from the United States and took nearly 100 years to take root, happened to fit the national character and culture of the Japanese people. Perhaps that is why it has developed into a nationally popular sport that is still widely supported and loved by the Japanese people today. Of course, this is largely due to the existence and establishment of the Koshien Tournament, a national high school baseball championship that serves as a proxy for regional rivalry games throughout Japan.
One of the reasons baseball took root in Japan was the era of GHQ's rule after the defeat. America was seriously afraid of Japan and wanted to somehow weaken it, so they promoted baseball. Bushido was considered the reason why the Japanese were strong. That's why GHQ banned martial arts and allowed only baseball as a sport. Ironically, it is interesting that baseball found Bushido in baseball and evolved in a completely different way than the American idea of baseball.
I'm not calling Americans selfish. I mean that the unique rules of the game of baseball would have been a good match from the beginning in terms of the historical culture of the Japanese people and their ability to win games under the rules of the game of baseball. Therefore, the condition that a team must cooperate and win by scoring one point more than the opposing team within a time limit must have been easy for the Japanese culture, which has been educated in organized activities since childhood. Of course, in a sport with game rules where the conditions for winning are different, the result may be the opposite of baseball. Today, recent biological discoveries have made the view that heredity is determined by intrinsic factors such as DNA more common knowledge than necessary. This is true, but too much can be misleading. Changes in culture and behavior of animals, including humans, are not only determined by genetic factors such as DNA, but also by the living environment and conditions, including the natural environment, that cause changes in culture, behavior, and value formation even if they have the same DNA. Thus, it is also true that environmental factors have a large impact on behavioral changes and culture formation, and this should not be overlooked in the analysis.
The pass the money thing is a old, old tradition here in the U.S. I remember doing this last time I was at Fenway Park. Its nice to see Japan took that tradition and kept it going.
If you tried that beer system at any English rounders club heh everyone would take a sip as it came back down the line and you'd be staring at a half, just saying' And some rounders clubs, no names, the money would never reach the lager lady. Japan is crazy.
Still remember seeing Japanese baseball in the 1980S. I distinctly remember seeing cheerleading on either sides of the sidlines and banners being waved during the whole time. It was the the most exciting baseball game I've ever felt.

As an American that likes Baseball, I've recently discovered Japanese Baseball on TV (Chime TV). Even with the limited number of teams & games that're offered, the Strategy of use of Players, Pitching, and pervasive Team Spirit (while still honoring the Outstanding Individuals). The American Game that was completely transformed by the Japanese and made Their Own. Before then, the only time I'd ever heard of Professional Japanese baseball, was watching a so-so Tom Selleck flick called " Mr. Baseball".
Comparing the American game to the Japanese shows just how stale our game has become. We don't see that kind of enthusiasm except in a college football game between big rivals. Wow!
Ah man, that's such a shame! The atmosphere for live sports in Japan is always great - the rugby world cup 4 years ago was such a testament to this too

baseball match in japan is so fun because the crowd just chants together. like, i watching mlb match and get bored because it's too calm and people doesn't chant to much.
Wow bam what's going on Joe, great video, full of life and a.load of fun, keep em coming mate 👍 😉 🎉
Baseball".
This felt like an important time capsule of the human experience
Always waiting for your next new upload because, every video is such a banger!!! Absolutely enjoying it!
Much appreciated - thank you! Always wanting to upload more, but always balancing the time required to edit them! 😅
Comparing the American game to the Japanese shows just how stale our game has become. We don't see that kind of enthusiasm except in a college football game between big rivals. Wow!
Ah man, that's such a shame! The atmosphere for live sports in Japan is always great - the rugby world cup 4 years ago was such a testament to this too
Imagine playoff atmosphere on a rando Wednesday lol. They love baseball.
in addition, Tigers 23 is only for legend shortstop Yoshio Yoshida so no players wear 23
How crazy is it that I actually went to this game as well! I was seated behind 3rd base, near the Giants cheering section, Koshien is wild
Literally the same atmosphere that Indian fans have watching cricket, especially when India is playing 😆
I can imagine! Looks so intense when I’ve seen it on TV
Thank you for your video, it's really funny 😄
hanshin tigers is especially crazy
You've watched nice game.
You'll better to learn 'Rokkoh-Oroshi'
The further into the game the more drunk he got and the more fan gears he acquired. 🤣🤣🤣
you can pass money and they pass the beer to you in return? WTF :D here the money would have gone after 3 hands and you need security everywhere because some idiots always mess up. When I go to Japan i definitely go to a Baseball Game
why the hell this seems more fun than our baseball lmao
Thanks for sharing, could u please tell me where to buy tickets on line? Tks lot!
