  • As we get ready for WWDC Alex and I have a lot to talk about.
Firstly we look ahead to next Monday’s Apple event and what we are looking forward to and what we are expecting.
Then we chat over our thoughts and findings on the new M4 iPad Pro. Alex has been to Samsung’s UK HQ - so we find out how that came about.
And we chat over how to go about finding brands, how best to work with them - oh and shooting at 60 FPS for TH-cam too.
🥰 Don’t forget, if you enjoy our weekly podcast to subscribe, like, and share - and if you listen on Apple Podcasts - to leave us a rating (hopefully a 5-star one!) as well! 🙏🏻

Hi there - yeah, we make a point NOT to script the pod. All we do 5mins before hand is roughly chat over what we want to cover…and then hit record. We’re so glad that the honesty comes across! Your support means the world - thank you so much 👊🏻

Good stuff, gents--discussion of current events, entrepreneurship, psychology, marketing and the two fantastic personalities. I don't understand what Minus Sixteen means, but that's OK.
I particularly enjoyed when David talked about pushing through and growing his channel and when Alex discussed the psychology of product association and the curation of his channel. Seriously, the success and failure stories are golden.
I think the most attractive part of the pod is that you guys don't have everything figured out and you share those stories with the audience. So much of TH-cam is trying to be perfectly polished and I for one am not digging that anymore. This pod is the opposite. I've seen the change in your guys' confidence, body language and willingness to open up and tell more personal stories over the life of this podcast. That's been the most fun. Cheers!

PS - Minus Sixteen stemmed from me (David) being a nerd! It’s the LUFS loudness standard that Apple asks you to upload audio podcasts at!!🔊

Love the multi cam shots in this! Alex, your studio space is stunning too, really nice and great that you can host David and others. David, your iPad looks incredible in the shots too. Really great podcast too guys. Excited for WWDC tomorrow night. I think it will be 2 hours if not more like you say. See if they do market Ai as Apple Intelligence, it does sound very Apple to do that :)

Thanks so much George (Alex here) That's so kind of you! I love having people around, this content creation business can be quite lonely otherwise. Exciting times, hope WWDC brings us some goodies!

yeah - hanging out and talking shop is pretty cool and Alex' space is as good for real as it looks in the video. And yes, agreed, he did a great job in the edit on this one 🤛🏻

thanks Steve! (Alex here). Yes, I think some of the tech out there has plateau'd a bit. Not sure where the innovation will come from next, maybe a few more years until wearables like the Vision Pro become more accessible/useful

@@minussixteenpodcast1841 I totally agree with you and I get fed up when some podcasts just say everything is great when in reality it's a bit boring, personally I was underwhelmed with the iPads this year. Whilst I agree apple has done some good stuff with how they implement the dual oled panels it's just a bit boring.

I will out “Everyday Dad” Alex who said the Magic Keyboard was heavy. As someone who uses both I laughed too. Dude needs to go to the gym. What he forgets is that the weight creates lap ability that do not exist with Samsung keyboards.
Alex, you and I are of EXACTLY the same mind. Prefer Samsung generally, but cannot completely give up Apple so I have iPhones, iPads AND Galaxy phones and Tablets.
I feel like Android OEMs like Samsung push the envelope while Apple holds things back for the sake of profits secure in the loyalty of its user base.
As a fellow DEX fan, Apple could literally dual boot into MacOS with a keyboard and iPad OS as a tablet and be the ultimate mobile device. Heck you could plug an iPhone into a monitor and with the right silicon run MacOS.
Samsung would absolutely do that if it could, to separate from its competitors on Android but DEX is the best it can do.
My inability to go all in on Android is just about 3rd party apps being either exclusive to or just better quality on Apple.
    Frustrated me to no end.

hi there! Alex here, yup that was the video 😅 And absolutely, Apple could win a lot of hearts and minds by making the iPad more productivity-friendly. I know David may have other views but I still think there's more value for money in certain Android devices, if you use/care about those extra features. I totally agree with you on the apps point too, I suffer that on a daily basis as I love Ulysses and Procreate, both of which are exclusive on iPadOS/iOS

yeah, in one of my recent videos I even showed the iPad and MBA on a pair of scales - there is only about 200 grams between them! No way is that case heavy!

@@DavidLewisTech I do think his point is that if he is gonna carry something of “similar” weight he may as well take his MacBook. He takes his tablet to go lighter Samsung is his preference.
Nevertheless, once it is not pocketable and you need a bag it does not make that big a difference to me. I’d take a FUNCTIONALLY BETTER keyboard over saving a few grams any day.

Apple wasn’t sleeping, they wasted their engineering talent , focus , time, and money on the discontinued Apple Car project, instead of focusing on innovating, developing, and improving their current products, I.e. the Vision Pro, Macs, iPhone, HomeKit, etc, all of their current products seriously need new hardware and software upgrades. If they wanted to build a car, they should have partnered with a current car maker. Imagine how much time, money, and effort they wasted. Apple clearly has money to burn.

    • @minussixteenpodcast1841
      @minussixteenpodcast1841  20 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

Good points there! (Alex here) Yes, they could literally buy a car company and re-badge them 😅
