Appreciate Video! Forgive me for butting in, I am interested in your opinion. Have you heard the talk about - Riddleagan Made Masterpiece Remedy (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a great exclusive product for learning professional photo editing without the hard work. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my cousin after many years got amazing success with it.
Thank you, one of the best tutorials i've seen! Also, tip for everyone else: for backrounds like a street, a home or anything that is not nature, content aware fill won't work and also it isn't necessary, just take a copy of the backround and use the lense blur, it does the same thing. And to sharpen the subject, use high pass. It's basic but it's useful for small touch-ups.
@@mikeiba5248 I'm having that problem too. What do you mean about the layer being visible? The eye symbol is checked... but I'm still stuck on not being able to click on fill under edit. Hope you're still out there! Thanks!
I am just now getting started in this type of Photoshopping beyond the typical entry-level touchups and alterations. I must say, its quite a powerful tool and I hope that I can master a bit more of it!
Dude... thank you very very much... that brush overlay thing to refine edges.... just works like a charm,... thank you very much, you get a like, keep up the good work, best wishes!
I honestly think the before image was way better in terms of color and overall tone , having a blurry background isn’t always the answer to a great portrait
just followed your steps and did this to one of my pictures and it worked 100% sucessfully, thanks bro, i really appreciate these help, keep up the good work.
That was honestly amazing. Cutting out this type of subject is usually a nightmare but you have made it seem so easy with your explanation. Thanks you.
Great tutorial. However, it's difficult to do the same thing on 150 photos of photoshoot that you took with some cheap lens. Sooner or later you'll need a better lens, let's say 50mm 1.8 at least for a portrait photo to look professional.
Love your TOTORIALS MAN!! So straight to the point and you make it look so easy and thats smart!! Unlike most of tutorials they bore you off and just talk so much so really appreciate when you’re silent while editing 👌🏻👌🏻Keep it up thanks
Excellent video thank you very much I have a doubt after applying mask and doing ok if I want to go back and clean a bit more with fine brush is it possible to undo the ok and edit the mask ? if so how to enter the mask setting again for this image ?
The before is nicer to me. What's nice about true lens blur is the transmission from the foreground to the background. Everything melts gradually with magic balls of light in a way that photoshop can't do.
we can achieve magic balls of light also in lens blur, but i didn't use light threshold adjustment it in this tutorial. You may check this tutorial th-cam.com/video/u9g_WxqAaDE/w-d-xo.html
You can do that. I do similar for outdoor group shots where I want a blue sky with properly exposed faces. Not different focal planes, but lower exposure. Just make sure you take the second shot without a person in it or their blurred outline will make the person look like they're glowing later
I tried this one today but It looked really strange after I done it when I zoomed in to check all the edges and details, I guess its super hard to do it really well if you have a lot in the background? Can you use this technique for proffesional work without a lot of small pixels that doesnt come out the way they should?

I cant fill the selection, that option is not available when i select the model ?
I know it's two years late but for whoever else who has this problem, make sure your layer is visible

@@robertaholden6642 Play around with the eye symbols on your layers and hope for the best, that's what I did and the fill option eventually appeared

rasterize layer (photo) :)
This is actually one of the most helpful tutorials for blurring a portrait b/g that I've seen. Nicely done.
This is the best tutorial I have found on this subject!

Thank you very much, great lesson. Please help, video 3.19 you showed the mask. I can't find how to do it.
HOlD ALT OR OPT key and click on layer mask.
On the duplicate image after selection when doing content aware fill , it does not actually remove lady. What am I doing wrong?
Same pal... same.. 😞
Supposed take off the eyeball on the top layer
Very good.💚🙏❤

Quite a great tutorial. What if you use an expensive lens and add this to the background, would it be top fake?
Wow this was so helpful! I love retouching and learned so many new tricks!

Jovi Bootlegs 80mm 1.2f lens would be the best
And I use Micromax smartphone lens 5megapixel
@@vysh2188 Very intelligent choice. It's much better than my Motorola L7 camera... I am sure it will create astounding bokeh!

Nice tutorial. Very quickly taught.
Also you can take a second photo with the closest focusing distance and then stack the two layers? Just an idea.
That would look more authentic because the blur would not be equally applied to near and far objects.
Hansel Lobo yeah, it would need fine tuning in photoshop but it would be organic and true to the scene
Be aware of focus breathing. It's quite annoying when using this technique.
You can do that. I do similar for outdoor group shots where I want a blue sky with properly exposed faces. Not different focal planes, but lower exposure.

still need to manually "feathering" hair edges don't u think?
Tutorial is very good.
