      @23DMOTORSPORTS 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@championshiprings6376 generally speaking, you can lug a 4 stroke around most tracks with minimal gear changes and clutch work because they've got so much torque. A 2 stroke, you need to be changing gear constantly, lots of clutch work through and out of corners to make sure you're on the pipe as much as possible because that's where the engine makes all its power. But if ridden properly, nothing beats ripping a 2 stroke.
      4 strokes are good, and easier to ride quicker because it requires less effort to do so but for me 2 strokes are way more enjoyable once you learn to ride them properly

It's like me beating Usain bolt when I was given a 75 foot head start. Sure I beat him but only because I was given an advantage. If it was heads up he would beat me, just like cc for cc a two stroke is lighter, more reliable, cheaper to maintain, makes more torque and horsepower than a four stroke. @Motors4Life Altitude and oxygen density dictates the needed jet size. Provided there is no air leaks or no internal carb gas leaking into the mix. Like a flooding float valve or leaky jet housing assembly. So a good old fashioned plug reading is where to start. Lean is mean until it gets too good and burns a hole in the piston. A too rich mix will be a dog. Plug color will be white if too lean. Black if too rich. Light tan is optimal color. I hope I have been helpful.

    Max, your a trip dude! But I say that in a good way with admiration and respect as your a more than decent rider for a amateur, and your review was really enjoyable to watch! However you made me laugh especially when you said "I was quietly rooting for the two stroke...", Hahaha, dude, your unmitigated affection and bias for the two stroke was so over the top it was more than blatantly obvious!! From the minute you got on the two stroke your affection and enthusiasm for the two stroke poured out! But that's okay because it is what it is and at least you tried to acknowledge that even if you were a little less than honest with yourself about it. But everyone has preferences on something or other and I'm no different. I use to be a semi-pro mx'er back in the early 70's in Arizona riding small class but had my racing career ended by parents that divorced. So I became a wana-be racer for years untill one day I won (believe it or not) the AMA/PACE Supercross sweepstakes in 1999! All the way from tickets to the Phoenix Supercross race to picking the winning key at Sam Boyd stadium in Las Vegas to win the whole enchilada! This included a new Toyota Tundra, a YZ 250, and a gift cirt from Part Unlimited. But when I got home I talked the local Yamaha dealership into swapping the YZ250 for a YZ 400 F!! (Cost me about $350 to accomplish) I took that 400F and started racing again (at 40 yrs old and recently widowed so about 40lbs under weight I basically embarrassed myself!). But what I discovered was that the 4 stroke has 2 things going for it that hard to beat:
    1. Power band that goes on and on! I found I could ride almost any course in two gears! 2nd gear starts that gave me hole shots and 3rd gear that got me to eye watering speeds and still enough torque and power band left over to pull a wheelie at anytime! 2. Gobs of power! Of course this ties in with #1 as one without the other would have been useless. Compression braking also if you knew how to use it otherwise I found you stalled the bike easily and it is a B.I.T.C.H. to restart esp in a race! So you learned not to brake without clutching the engine or else!
    But this was a 400 in the 250 class which I felt was unfair to the two stroke. So how the AMA made it ok to ride 450's is beyond me as you showed - now days they are very close cc for cc! But I believe that soon you will be a convert as 4 strokes continue to improve and you get over your need to hear the two stroke scream and the quick shifting needed to stay in the power band! The future is 4 stroke my friend (so long as the AMA doesn't give in to the electric bike,! Yikes!!)😱

    To really see a difference, you need to do multiple laps on each bike and then compare the average over those multiple laps and standard deviations. Standard deviations will tell you how consistent you are on each bike. A statistical t-test can analyze the data and can determine with 95% confidence that one bike is faster than the other, or if it's statistically insignificant. That would be more scientific than anecdotally comparing fastest lap times. Love the video though!

    It takes a mad man to really race a 2 stroke, always have to be in the throttle. Think of the 4 stroke as 911 gt with the traction control on and the 2 stroke being a Supra 2jz with a bigger turbo.. when the boost hits at 5000rpm you better know how to drive that sob 😂

      Honestly the new 4 strokes are more top endy than 2 strokes. The new 250cc 4 stroke kawasaki makes as much hp as a 500 but it all above 16,000 rpm.

    • @4touchdowns1game29
      @4touchdowns1game29 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also The supra was really like the two stroke of cars. It was the one car in the 90s that had to compete with cars that had waaaay bigger engines. All the fastest supras in the 90s only had 2 liter 4 bangers. Shoot the supra on the cover of Gran Turismo was the most famous of all the 4 cylinder supras and it was beating Ferraris and stuff. You have to remember the 2jz sucked for racing and is why Toyota never ran 2jz engines. The supra for example used the faster 4 cylinder 3s based engine and when they were forced to ditch that they went with the 1uz v8.
