I carried a Glock as a duty weapon. They great but not "perfect". It's about what suits YOU! I drive a Tacoma 4x4 as well. It's great but not "perfect" either. Different vehicles are designed for different purposes.
Amen!! Tacos!! annyone? best dam rigs built! period! 2015 TRD OFF road! here! 4 inch suspension lift and 285-75-16 Kelly safari tsl skins! and with 6spd manual and locker and atrac!! lol show me the challenge!! sweet vid boys!!
This is awesome, that Taco is amazing. I just got my first one, it's a 2014 Baja edition. Not as much of a monster as yours, but it's quite the upgrade from what I used to have (Ford Taurus)
Awesome video! In my younger years I had a Toyota SR5 1/4 ton (the precursor to the Tacoma) with a solid front axle and manual locking hubs - lol. The thing was built like a tank. My buddies had small 4x4's too and we did the same thing you do with your Tacoma. Very rarely did I need to be pulled out, but I was constantly pulling my buddies out. I think it was mostly to do with the fact they were scared to "pin-it". I used to just put my foot to the floor and let that thing scream through the mud & snow. It never once gave me a problem & when I sold it with 150,000 k on it, it started in -35c without being pugged in, just like the day I bought it. The only thing that was crap on it was the body. Thanx for sharin'!
Hey, thanks for watching! I would absolutely love to have a pre '85 Toyota truck with solid axles with a 22re. IMO thats the perfect offroad rig for the trails. Great trucks but rusted out fast tho. I think a lot of ppl don't like to pin it as well, just not used to having to drive like that. But really thats the only way you can do it in the mud or deep snow. There were times i was in Low, 2nd gear and letting it rip at 4500 rpm!! Thats how you gotta drive if you don't want to get stuck lol. This is my first Toyota truck and its been great aside from a couple things, 4wd actuator went out and had to replaced, fabric on seats wore prematurely and shifter boot and knob wore out prematurely as well. All these were replaced under warranty but other than those, i haven't had any other issues in 140k kms. I plan on getting an atv this spring so i should be a little easier on the Taco from now on... haha
Nice to see someone actually showing what a newer type Tacoma can do. All the reviews show it going down trails you could do in a 2WD truck with a rear locker.
TACO's... You just simply can't bust'm or beat'm...! My personal old mule is a '05 z71 4wd crew cab colorado. She does me well here in the az desert. Great Vid!
Wow that is so awesome I have a 2015 Toyota Tacoma and I haven't really been any off-roading with it but I didn't realize it was so capable watching your video makes me think. LOL
+Vlad B My stock Chevy could do everything in this video and make everything look way easier than this Toyota junk........................... juuuuuuuuusssssst kidding ;)
Thank you for the quick response, now I know what to do to make them fit. Planning on purchasing a new truck when the 2016 comes out. Don't know if it will require the BFH, but I'll be ready.
Great video! Looks like fun! I'm waiting on Pelfreybilt bumpers and sliders for my Taco! Then some 33's I think. I have a long bed so no lockers. Will have to get those some day too!
+jerreece I love what Pelfreybilt is offering for our Tacoma's. My next build will be sporting their bumpers for sure! Definitely look into lockers tho, the benefits are quite substantial. Looks like your own your way to a really cool build!
+Due North I'm getting there for sure. Already have an OME lift. Full set of RCI OffRoad skid plates front to back. Got a Winch and CB radio waiting install.
Nice truck! I have a Black 2012 TRD SPORT 4X4. This weekend it's getting 4.88 gears and Front and Rear ARB LOCKERS. SCS wheels and 35's. Time to make some videos soon!!
What bumpstops are you using? I noticed the wheel doesn't go all the way in the wheel well. And how much cutting did you have to do to fit those tires?
I keep coming back to this video. I like watching other people torture their Tacomas so I don't have to. Check out a quick long term update on my Taco if you like.
LOL That cracked me up dude. I'm having the same difficulties nowadays too tho, too much work and not enough time to play. Hope i can get out more this summer. Thanks for watching!
Can't do very much crawling (due to its lack of solid front axle), but those things are badass trail and overland vehicles. Plus it could sure as hell tow an offroad trailer better than my old jeep can. Might have to get me one of these someday
+swimmer8585 I think you'd be surprised just how much rock you can crawl with these trucks, even with IFS. The hardcore stuff should be left for the jeeps on 37" plus tires tho haha
Thanks for watching! I don't think the mods are ever officially done haha I know i'm very very close tho. Not much more i can do unless i wanna get crazy go with a SAS. I do have a 20" lightbar i still need to install, once it warms up i'll get on it. Keep her shiny side up dude!
I have a TRD sport as well and I love it. I was a little worried about not having a locking differential, but I guess you're getting by just fine without it!
lol ya now that i think about it, i've had 4 different sets on over the years. Should have just went bigger from the get go! Thanks for watching and the compliment!
Awesome Truck! I just got a 2015 off road, what size wheels and tires are you running here, I want to upgrade from stock this winter, don't want to affect my mileage too much, its my daily, thanks?
Id love a tacoma, got a hilux at the moment its all i can get in the uk, which tires do u prefer out of the dura tracs and the bfg mts? For road wear and noise levels? Great vid
Greg O'Brien Thanks for watching. Depends what you need your tires to do more? If offroading and playing in the mud is a priority then go with the km2's but if you go offroading once a month and just to play but want a solid tire that will perform well in all regards, go with the Duratracs. Can't go wrong with either really.
Thanks for the reply, I've always loved bfgs , whenever i bought another brand i was always disappointed. I have bfg ats on at the moment ,they've done about 65000 miles mostly towing on the road but where we park the machines gets wet in the winter and i have trouble pulling the trailer off the wet clay. I do like the luck of the goodyear duratracks but i worry about there mileage on the road. If i knew id get around 40-50 thousand miles out of them then id buy them , but here there alot more expensive then the km2s.
Greg O'Brien All good points. If you need a tire to last 40k + miles then mud tires probably aren't a good choice. I really like the BFG All-Terrain as a good performer for driving on and off road. Ive have great luck with Goodyear tires tho for the last 4 years so i'm sticking with them for now. I've talked to a couple guys now that have put 60k miles on their duratracs and they were happy.
Hey, love the truck! I was interested in getting some 33" goodyear Duratracs on my 2011 tacoma. I was curious about what kind of lift you have? Also, besides the lift are there any other things you suggest considering when trying to fit the 33" duratracs? any suggestions or resources to guide me would be appreciated.

Hey man nice taco. What bumper do you have in front and back. And snorkel. Also what suspension and tire size are you running. I'm about to plus up my 4x4 taco. Thanks
oreonelson Thanks dude. Running ATO bumpers front and rear and a Safari snorkel. For suspension I've got Icon CO's with LightRacing UCA's and in the rear i'm running an OME Dakar leaf pack with OME nitro shocks obtaining approx 3" of lift all around. For tire size i run 35" MTR's in the summer for wheelin and 33" Duratracs in the winter. Have fun modding the Taco, gets very addictive! Thanks for watching.
Wow, where are those trails? Some of those hydro trails remind me of North Frontenac and Madawaska area. What tires did you find worked best for you? I currently have the KM/2's. Awesome video, really enjoyed it and now I'm craving me some trails!
I never ever considered buying a Tacoma until now this trucks looks pretty nice ( a ford and Chevy owner)
Tacoma is worlds most capable vehicle. Good at everything. Like the glock 19 of trucks.
+Sam Karrenstein Couldn't agree more.
Except the Glock is POS and the Taco isn't.
+Osvaldo Morales except the Glock is tried and true so your statement is false :)
I carried a Glock as a duty weapon. They great but not "perfect". It's about what suits YOU!
I drive a Tacoma 4x4 as well. It's great but not "perfect" either. Different vehicles are designed for different purposes.
+Austin Cordell haven't really been around long enough to say wether or not they'll live up to the reputation.
Tacoma when equipped properly is
Unstoppable . Nothing but a beast!! Rubicon is another fierce competitor .
Amen!! Tacos!! annyone? best dam rigs built!

+Ian Rupert Thats a huge upgrade! Thanks for watching. Let the mods begin!
Awesome video!

Vince Tucci Thanks man! (and son!) That made me smile! Thanks for watching (and cheering!) me on haha :)
That was some damn good truck porn. Thanks for the vid.
Nice to see someone actually showing what a newer type Tacoma can do. All the reviews show it going down trails you could do in a 2WD truck with a rear locker.

Awesome video! A double cab long bed, and it off roads like a champ!

Due North I'm trying to build up one of my old jeeps to do that lol. The only problem is that its expensive, so its taking a while
I have a clean first gen and have been wanting to get a 3rd gen but this makes me want to get a second gen.
That's a great video. I wish all off my mods were done. Getting close though. Be safe.

nice rear bar, looking to do something similar with my Hilux
I have a TRD sport as well and I love it. I was a little worried about not having a locking differential, but I guess you're getting by just fine without it!
you dont need lockers all you need is a toyota
+Jared Chute that truck absolutely has a rear locker.
Howard is God!!! Bababooey to you All!!!
that truck absolutely has a rear locker.
Howard is God!!! Bababooey to you All!!!
+T T its a sport wich dont come with factory lockers so ig would've had to be aftermarket swap
+Jared Chute Correct, TRD Sports come without a locker from factory. This truck however has front and rear ARB air lockers and regeared to 4.56's.
one of the best tacos Out there!!!
Hey Due North ! Awesome build ! I have a Tacoma as well, but not as heavily modded as yours.
Aaron
From Newfoundland
Aaron Bennett Thanks Aaron, enjoy modding your Taco! They are badass trucks!
Straight beast!!!!

Beautiful truck.
I wrote this in my movie:
" AT TOYOTA,.........IT'S NOT JUST A COMPANY ........IT'S A CALLING. "
My Tacoma is a fun , quiet and reliable ."

@ 4:05 - Just curious, why the edit at this point ?

+11bravo1789 avid off-road
Nice wheelin' there, where abouts in Ont. are you at? I'm often around the Kenora area and I haven't found any good trails, yet!
Awesome Truck! I just got a 2015 off road, what size wheels and tires are you running here, I want to upgrade from stock this winter, don't want to affect my mileage too much, its my daily, thanks?
Where about in Ontario are you doing this? some of the areas looked somewhat familiar and I'm wanting to find some offroading spots.
I think about doing a 3" of lift + 285/75R16 (BFG Km2's)
sick rig dude, great driving too. Where in Ontario was this?
contemplating whether to get a tacoma or a tundra
Id love a tacoma, got a hilux at the moment its all i can get in the uk, which tires do u prefer out of the dura tracs and the bfg mts? For road wear and noise levels? Great vid
Greg O'Brien Thanks for watching. Depends what you need your tires to do more? Thanks for the reply, I've always loved bfgs , whenever i bought another brand i was always disappointed. Awesome video and truck. What is the ground clearance with your current setup?
Well, I know what I want to go out and do this weekend!!! What suspension are you running?
Hey, love the truck! I was interested in getting some 33" goodyear Duratracs on my 2011 tacoma. I was curious about what kind of lift you have? Also, besides the lift are there any other things you suggest considering when trying to fit the 33" duratracs? any suggestions or resources to guide me would be appreciated.
I love Toyota
truck looks amazing. How did you fit the 35s with only 2.5 of lift??
is that 6 speed manual?
Did you rear gear for tire size? Also did you install a lockers?
So jealous right now...i'm only a teen, but i already know that my truck in da future will be like this. :D Quick question though-is this a midtravel front, or DB lift? I can't quite tell, although it looks like a midtravel to me. I'm probably wrong though.
Anyways, this is a killer rig. The icebreaker parts are SO COOOL!!
Nice rig. Just curious, what front bumper is that? In Tx we have to have a front plate
***** Its a custom built bumper by ATO (Armor Tech Offroad)
