    Hope you enjoy this awesome space saving rod storage idea...who would think to store rods on the ceiling?

    • @ph00z00
      @ph00z00 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      me, been doing it in the basement with exposed joists. there happens to be cross bracing, which leaves places to store them that way. however, over time horizontal storage lends to sagging, or warping of the rods. vertical storage is my preference.

    This is a great idea. 👍 I used cut PVC on the back and my hooks weren't big enough. Your's will keep the rods from falling out.

    • @1Cast1Fish
      @1Cast1Fish  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought of going the PVC route, but these rods are larger trolling rods and I was worried about the same thing happening, so I went with the larger hooks.

  • @marctheriault
    @marctheriault 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I used this technique when I installed the hooks into the rafters of the fishing area of my workshop/shed.
    *** Tip: You can save a few bucks using utility hangers for the tip end of the rods. The bike hooks are a little overkill for the skinniness of the tips.

    I have low ceilings in my basement so I need to keep them as high as possible. I also don't have a finished ceiling so the floor joist are exposed. I made a simple rod storage from PVC. For each rod I cut two 2" sections and made one of those C shaped. I attached each to a floor joist. The rod handle goes into the O shaped piece and the rod goes into the C shaped. Simple and cheap.

    You could save even more room if you turned every other rod around. The reels don’t have to be all on the same end. But it’s a great idea and it’s exactly what I’m going to use in my he-shed. I already have rafters in place so all I need is hooks.
