I remember a few decades ago when they first came out with windows where you could flip a switch and they would turn from transparent to translucent. I don't know how much electricity is used to get that effect, but I suspect they are either prohibitively expensive (to manufacture or use) or not reliable.

Oh, that’s interesting. It could have cost quite a bit to manufacture the toilets. But we can use them for free!
