You know what that pop was. The value on my third gen going up .
Or the rear axle popping. You should get it checked out either way.
The recall just brought it back down again
Mine is a 2017. Value up again!😃@@shiftmotorsports9803
@@shiftmotorsports9803 mine is not on the recall list. Value up again
Yea but why sell a good truck?
Wow, very disappointing. You weren't even abusing it.
This is why they make RWD still!
That's why you get snow tires
Toja, the new styles on all these that they build in from the tundra, all the way down to the forerunner, when they change it nothing but junk, they haven't been tested the older models. Everybody b**** about them being oh, it's been the same. It's been the same. They really haven't changed it right, but you wouldn't be stranded like that. That's the reason why Toyota didn't want to change stuff. But you all bitched and cried and bitched and cried. And they gave it to you and this is what you get
No kiddin! That Escap.... errr Bronco Sport behind it is probably gonna clear that on the first try.
@@markymark3071 Wut?
Inferior metal recall incoming. To snap a cv on 31s with a open diff with little throttle input is down right embarrassing.
On ice, gotta be a defective unit or that's just disappointing
But, the engineers said not to worry because a lot of the new stuff already been proven in their commercial line😂
Oh but this is the first year of a new generation so we should expect crap parts and major breakdowns - It's all part of the Beta testing and stuff.
@@desert4seat dang bro who wants to pay 55k to test some corporations product.
@desert4seat what you say makes no sense. Cv technology hasn't changed in 50 years. Differential technology hasn't changed in 100 years. Even tho Toyota says it's an all new design. It still uses the basic suspension geometry they started using in the early 2000s. When you buy something with these basic parts you expect it to work flawlessly.
A Chevy pulling a Toyota. Thought I'd never see the day.
not uncommon

The GM fan boys are happy
Man Toyota must be really slacking on quality if a gm vehicle has to pull out a brand new taco because the 4wd broke, not saying that gm is bad but Toyota used to have some of the best quality but recently they have been slacking
“Toyota - Let’s go pla..*snap*”
Toyotas breaking, proof Jesus Christ was right and we are clearly in the end times 😂
Really can't wait to get more information on what happened
Most likely cv or hub
@@jordancawthorn3439 nah. A CV would’ve made all kinds of noise while driving away.
@@desert4seat because he lost 4wd it is most likely a cv even if you can’t hear it, you can see the wheel releasing all the strain on that side indicating that something on that side is broken. unlikely front diff or transfer (which would also make sounds if broken a lot worse then a cv)
The price is a fail as well. Made cheaper, less quality but higher price. You’d have to be nuts to pay $55,000 or more at 6-8% interest for 75 months.
Thats a crunchy sounding taco right there
😂
Toyota is 90% loyal fanboy hype.
Should’ve ordered a soft taco
You guys are the best salesman Nissan or Chevy could ask for lol

@@GAMMA_AF Stats tell otherwise. Jeeps and Dodges break much faster than Toyotas. Keep coping with your crap-box vehicle. lol.
Thank you for sharing that a new Toyota will snap an axle in an inch of snow. LOL.
@@warg333 it definitely disconnected!

Wow. Toyota isn’t what it used to be.
Neither is ford and honda my brother. Honda motorcycles are still straight up legitness though
Guess that solves the age-old question of if you want a "crunchy" 'Taco or a "soft" 'Taco...🤣
Bro, you’re hilarious 😂😂
I want a taco that is ultra rugged reliable and has an extended lifespan.
Going places. Like back to the dealership
Fanboys are finally quiet down
Its a good thing Toyota is still putting the 6' bed on the Tacoma because you're gunna need that extra space for all the spare CV's you have to carry.
Imagine Ford with engines and transmissions
@ehr235 What about them? You've heard of all the Tundra engine failures at low miles lately, right? They like to turn main bearings into glitter.
@@Jay-me7gw copying gm? See engines with 3000 miles that are grenaded
@@Jay-me7gw I've seen more engine & transmission failures from Fords, Dodges, and Chevys than Tundras tho. Keep coping cause the stats tell otherwise. 1 failed tundra = 100 of your ADMs in real-time. lol. cope.
You broke a part they spent $1.5 mil and 25k hours in engineering to save 0.007 mpg. The fuel savings over the life of the truck is $55. You paid an extra $1,500 for it though. Now you'll pay more out of pocket while that's repaired under warranty for a rental. Which will be a while. The part is on

What's the part?
The plain old trucks were better. Used more fuel but lasted way way longer
@@FullTwosyeah I’m not sure what he’s talking about.
Crazy how new car parts are on back order for six months 😂
@@FullTwos Sounded like a CV axle breaking, if not it came from within the front differential. Perhaps the A.D.D(Automatic Disconnecting Differential) fork broke that engages 4WD. It might have of even been the front differential shaft failing.
Pretty Weak situation for the CV to break
Cannot wait for the information on this one. Already going viral in hate. I am frankly not surprised. Not that I hate Toyota, but when ever you re-invent the wheel that worked fine to start with, there are bound to be problems.
Exactly, they just cannot leave well enough alone. Non of them can.
No truck on the market today is what they were when I was a boy in the late 60's early 70's.
Toyota did a recall because our mexican underpaid wageys down there in mexico were welding and not knocking their slag off. If they dont knock their slag off they dont even know how to weld man. Hire my ass ill weld them for free just because im sicl amd tired of people getting sold junk made by a welder in A 3rd world craphole that never even had a highschool level welding class. 40k for these plastic crapboxes toyota wont even build them with people that know how to weld. I dont think these vehicles are as good as they couldve been
I understand you can snap an axle or CV on anything: still not a good look. Glad I got my 2023.
the axel broke that easily? jesus it took my axel a perfect impact to my tire for it to go out. and that was in my nissan sentra
MX quality 😂
I suspect it’s the front prop shaft /driveshaft. 4Lo + turbo torque, this wasn’t ever a problem in the anemic 3.5 v6
Plus that’s exactly how Roman blew a front prop shaft on their 2019 Rebel Rouser truck, too.
Well your 2023 might loose its rear tires due to an improper axle torque from the factory. Yes your truck just got recalled
@@upshifter5316 But this was not even in a difficult spot and the tire was not even turned, or just barely. This looks bad.

Damn toyota isnso good at making a piece of overpriced junk look like something i really need in my life.
Toyota trying too hard to make their trucks look like a Chevy and not trying hard enough to make them quality

That is a corn Taco. Flower Tacos are much less brittle.

@@matt25675im glad you called out all the other brands. Theyre all selling total overpriced junk these days. Wow, broke so easily. My colorado has been thru hell and back and still going at it harder than ever 😅
chev baby.
Plenty of videos of them breaking down.
Im still scared of chevy reliability. But to be fair now i see thr frontier colorado and tacoma and ranger as low quality unreliable pieces of junk so 😂
I've done some wot 4wd wheeling in my Titan Pro4x in 6" of snow and never had an issue.
But remember since toyo fanboys claim frontiers and titans have cvt and svck then these new toyotas are better...
@vincentfontanez9334 I like toyotas and other brands too. But they all have issues.
Use that Bronco Sport to get both trucks out. 😂
The Bronkos a beast! My buddy has one!
Seriously a 4x4 built well..
Awesomeness Toyota! 45K special... Small infotainment screen, no rear sliding 🪟 now no 4X4 🤦
Never thought I’d see a Toyota getting a major issue under a year
Pretty common occurrence. The tacoma boys come out and figure out a Toyota breaks like everything else. They even tell me how awesome they are as I'm literally hooked up recovering them.
But dude, CV's are just considered regular maintenance on Toyota's so it doesn't count.
Haha Toyota coping is so real. My bud bought a Tacoma after I bought a wrangler, said it would outlast my wrangler by hundreds of thousands. His transmission melted at 65k he spent $5k+ to get a new transmission and he still tries to tell me “locked in, yoda gang for lyfe” “I’m confident my truck will last forever” I’m like dude… it already didn’t 😂
@SanctumOfDreams They usually never speak of those things again, too. They hope you will forget it happened so they can say all I've done is maintenance.
I'm convinced if you put wheels on a brick and give it a toyota badge the fanboys are going to spend 50k and brag about it.
@@SanctumOfDreamswhat are you talking about. He must have mis treated it. Its an objective fact that toyota makes the best cars...
Best case scenario cv axle snapped, worst case scenario front differential obliterated
The engine rev didn’t sound promising
@@mr.fiction5564 that high rev was because the truck lost fwd while revving and that reduced the load on the engine which resulted in the instant high rev
@@Reu_ag the rear wheels should still be driving so it shouldn’t rev without any resistance. Idk it just seems weird, guess we’ll see in the video

The jeep gladiator Rubicon is looking more appealing now. Solid front axles are more robust.
No way, sorry but if you think a stellantis product is better than a ford or Nissan good luck finding out
My 2021 ranger never did that 😂
Wow never expected this from a brand new Toyota
Well I worked for a Toyota dealer for a long time. In the beginning Toyota tested before releasing a new truck. Now the consumer does the testing in my opinion . But like any new release these days even Toyota will have to update a couple things, but once they do everything should be solid!!! It is a Great company to work for and with, I miss working for Toyota.
lol, I love my 2021 ZR2, stock with 33’s it’s a beast. Was crawling around up in Moab this week and it really impressed me where it went without even using the lockers
Wow a hidden feature! Front axle disconnect! Why was that not included in the build options?
Chevy "Like a Rock" or "lean on me" I guess the TRD for Toyota stands for Turd LOL
In before the "But which one will last a million miles" comments ahhhhahahaha
Toyota fanbois are the worst.
So we still buying the last gen then lol
The 2023 just had a recall on 400,000 trucks.
I’m ready to get rid of my Silverado for something smaller and more reliable, but things like this are the reason I’m biding time to see the new generation rollouts. I don’t need to be fashion-first, I’d rather have quality. Let’s see what broke, and how Toyota fixes the issue. All of the new-gen platforms are having various issues.
Damn, here I was saving up for a 4th Gen Taco… looks like I’ll save myself a lot of money and a lot of headache buying the 3rd Gen.
Gone are the days of Toyota being more reliable than Chevy I guess
Andre has had issues with that over priced Generic Motors truck of his also. When TFL had a Tundra TRD Pro at the ranch, it got stuck in the mud with it's poor approach angle and David's old early 90s GMC farm truck walked right over and up that same obstacle lol. That's when GM made a good truck. I had 95 Silverado it excellent condition until some idiot pulled out from a side street in front of me and totalled it. 😡
Colorado's are mostly having software issues it can be fixed gm are working on it as we speak... Power train and mechanical so far have been solid They just gotta fix the Software bugs
I had a new 2024 Tacoma TRD Off road scheduled to purchase. BUT once I saw this, I immediately cancelled my order. This TFL video has single handedly lost toyota huge money.
new nickname in 3..2...1...Rice Crispy! Snap Crackle Pop!
wtf!!! That’s like a speed bump or pothole in my area! Wow
I have looked into this and now getting a Pro 4x
This is why the Ranger and Colorado are selling better.
wow, sad to see such a fall as a company.
It SURE is nice to see this that is for sure. My 3rd gen is going wayyyyyyyyy up in price!
Oh what a feeling!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 that’s it, that’s all I have. 😂😂
That’s sad to see. I hope it’s an easy fix if you can get parts. Even though the Tacoma costs more than the Colorado I was all in on a Tacoma till now.
Toyota using Chinese parts now? Horrible..
Beautiful sight. 😂
That wasn’t an axle…I think it was the transfer case
It does look bad, but can happen to any truck. We also don't know if it was damaged previously. I'm sure Toyota will make it right quickly. This is also one of the first ones put together so there may be some bugs. That's sometimes the price you pay for being first. Hope it's not down long.
Never trust a Taco on a trail!!
2024 tundra did the same pop was a gavel driveway and backing up went what did I hit walked around saw nothing
Curious if it’s in the transfer case or the front differential
Where can i find those slider/drop steps on the tacoma?
"I love what you did to me.. Toyota!"😅
Watch all the fanboys make excuses...
WOW, Toyota quality has Slipped quite a bit.
I remember when the Tacoma had a redesign in 16 and the 16 & 17 year models were a POS.
I just bought a slightly used (6K mile) 23 Tacoma TRD OFF Road double cab.
The window sticker was $55K and I bought mine for $48K.
So essentially I saved $7K for 6K miles.
I would have been ok with a SR or a SR5. I didn’t need the leather or the sunroof, but I’m not complaining other than the interior is Boring Black.
ASAP, I’m having Katzkin replace the Black Leather for Bisque with Black trim and stitching. I already have the black leather sold to a buddy who also has a 23 TRD Off Road with Gloomy Gray cloth interior.
I had a 11 RAV Limited 4WD with the same 3.5L V6, but the RAV had 269hp and my Tacoma has 278hp.
The 3.5L V6 is a proven reliable and durable V6.
I only drive 5K / 6K miles per year, so I’m quite sure that my Tacoma will be the last vehicle that I’ll ever have to own.
In 20 years that’s only 120K miles so either I’ll be too old to drive or I’ll be dead.
Don’t worry, I bet that little turbo will hold up just fine!!! 😂
Apparently it'll hold up longer than the 4WD.
The funniest part is the bronco sport in the back that survived longer than the tacoma. 😂
Same axles as the new Tundra, Sequoia, and Land Cruiser....rut roh
You clearly pushed the 🌮 Taco beyond it means, driving up that little hill there.
Alex is getting really good at presenting facts efficiently. Nice editing too.
What a shame, that’s the new Tacomas, now ,v4 turbocharged, waisting money. Build in Mexico. Sadly 😢
3rd gen Tundra recalls: fuel line, ECU e-brake and now the transmission thing. Local dealer was fast and easy for the first two and I’m sure the third will be easy too. Part of life with a new platform sadly, but not unexpected. Good ending point about safety.
💥💥💥
I’m 5’10 and bang my head most times getting into my buddies little truck.
They raised the floor to create ground clearance and left the roof line where it was, know the Door Opening (aperture) is small.
They could at least give away helmets!
Highway tires at full pressure?
Send this to Toyota. Have them recall this too.
Every gens value before this one just went up.
Not the cv but the inner axle shaft in the diff
I've been saying for years but people just don't care. Toyota is not at all what it used to be and neither is Honda. Nissan is great for trucks. Hyundai and Mazda is great for cars/suvs.
Up here 4 wheeling with $45k worth of dog shit on pizza cutter wheels🤣🤣
Dystopian nightmare bro. We messed up
Sounded like the front diff not an axil because both front tires were not working.
Wasssup with the street tires and not aired down?
Legendary Toyota quality for ya.
New cars are absolute garbage
No, I have worked at dealers since 1974. Way less towed back in with less than 500 miles now compared to when I started. I will say that brand new model problems is still as big of a problem.
That should be the new Kit Kat commercial wanna break but a Toyota instead 😂 give me a break give me a piece of that Toyota break
Looks like a frontier!
Oh wow that seemed way too easy for a Toyota to break.
Is this where I chime in and say my 2022 Land Rover Defender has been driven hard all over the country with 41k miles on it and no problems? 😂 I also love Toyotas but this is just a lil satisfying….
Why would you take a 2WD rear drive into snow?
Can you not use the rear locker in 2wd? That's disappointing if not.
Welp. Tacoma sells just went down
Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon for the first time have a much better midsized truck than the Taco.
Taco Thursday
I would not be surprised if the axle broke on something more extreme than that. I’ve drove through similar ditches in my Mazda without problems.
Airing down would’ve helped
