Nice and concise. Many LED projects require a limiting resistor to assure that the LED does not burn out. That might make a good second video. I am impressed at the video quality production.
Im an engineering student and i learned how to solder and im just now getting into cosplay so im lucky to have the knowledge that helps me both in my field and in art!
Thats so awesome and useful! Honestly being able to incorporate your schooling in to cosplay and vise versa is a great way to tie in two different things that you love while advancing your skill in both!
Hi there! Great video :D It really helped me a lot. I was wondering if you are planning any more LED related videos? I am trying to have multiple LEDs together with a switch but am not sure how :S
+Naomi Williams Wonderful! Thats why i made it so im glad it helped! And i can definitely plan something up for the future in regards to making circuits with switches! Do keep in mind with multiple LEDs you have to factor the power of your battery vs. the energy each LED needs to like. Some batteries dont have enough juice to feed more than like 2 or 3
Say I have a 9 volt battery and my costume have around 16 LEDs each needing 2 V. Does all of that LED add up to 32 V and I need to increase my Battery Voltage or does all of that LED still equal to 2V and I need a resistor?
Hello! Im not quite sure as I havent tried to power that many in one project. Its possible that the 9V can power them all but I couldnt say for how long or if theyll have the maximum brightness. Heres a really good site that has some times for multiple LEDs per project - www.instructables.com/id/LEDs-for-Beginners/
Hello! You will have to use an LED that can match the voltage of your battery. If the LED cant handle that much power (say a 3V LED with a 9V battery) it will immediately short out and die like i showed in the video. However, you can always solder in a resistor between the LED and battery to buffer off the extra juice so it doesnt kill the light. I would just look in to the size of battery youre wanting to use and see if you can find LEDs that work with that size.
Thank you for your reply :) what if it's the other way round? Higher Voltage on LED with lower Voltage on battery? Will this mean that the LED won't light up at all?
@@FamousLegend07 I believe in most cases the LED either wont light up or will be very weak I'm its glow. The voltage on the LED is what it needs to deliver it's intended brightness so I think you may just have to experiment in that type of situation! :)
I love Sizzlebirds work! Unfortunately a lot of his stuff is copyrighted so it cant be used freely in videos but I'm glad this tune stayed open. I'll have to check out those two! Glad you enjoyed the video :)
Indeed, and if you're looking for more tunes along that line or the DnB side, not sure if you've heard of Liquicity, UKF Drum & Bass, Hospital Records, Med school and MrSuicidesheep. They are nice youtube channels for great music as such, enjoy.
Oh wow! Thank you so much! Ive actually never been compared to a celebrity before lol, usually people just tell me i remind them of their friend/sister/friend of a friend/etc. Thats really sweet of you!
No prob, I was perusing through your awesome Instagram photos and it hit me immediately, also nice work on the cosplay on your Instagram, is Anime Cosplay what you're more into?
Hi! I purchased mine from Radioshack back when it was still in business but you can get them all over the internet! Amazon, Ebay etc all have them! It helps if you know what color youre looking for but searching "Small LED bulbs" should get you in the right direction ♥
heya! i noticed you hooked the 7000 mcd led up to the lithium cell battery. What mcg is the light? I cant seem to find any compatible but bright lights ;_;
Hi! Im not sure which LED specifically youre referring to, but the brighter one is 7000 like you mentioned. These are all from radioshack and the wired ones are from ebay. Let me know if you need more info!
HatterInsanity oh jeez sorry i meamt what voltage was the led light that you hooked up to the lithium battery cell? i couldnt find any that were both 3v and 7000 mcd

"Adding LED to your project is a cool way to add extra (flare) " HA! i see what you did there
Want to give my cosplay glowing eyes this video helps a lot!
Might go for smaller batteries so they're easier to hide in the head

You're my spirit animal. You know just how to explain to me so I'll understand! Thank you! Perfect VO voice too!
Wow, I didn't mean to call you an animal. I hope you know what I meant, LOL! I'm new to the electronics community!
Haha no problem, i knew exactly what you meant! Im glad you enjoyed the video!
Why are your likes and subscriber count thing off?
Bp films Its just a personal preference for now!
HatterInsanity Ok lol.
where can I buy a cheap switch??
I like small slide switches as theyre easy to conceal in projects and work well with smaller circuits. ebay.to/2nw2Bp6
HatterInsanity perfect just what i was looking for. Thanks :3

Can you use led with higher voltage than the battery? Will there be any consequences?

I think it's rad you're using Sizzlebird as for your vid, love his tracks Lifetime and Dream catcher. Also great vid on the LEDs.

HatterInsanity+ Oh and not sure if you've heard this before but you could totally pass as Ashley Greenes Doppelganger loll.

Hana oh! lol. the ones i used are about 3.2 and 3.3V. basically the 3V battery will light them up pretty well!
