You are the absolute “man” when it comes to this. However, while you don’t need it because your seams are so good, as a noob I have found you can sand down Kwik Seal with 1000 grit sandpaper and it makes it very smooth prior to applying your base/primer coat (bounce, mod podge, etc). Thank you for your videos. They are insanely helpful!

I'm a newbie to eva foam makes. But every search I do on TH-cam for how to's inevitably brings me back to YOUR channel for the definitive trick or technique. Thanks Ted. [found you through Adam Savage on tested]. Am I subscribed to your channel? I'm joined with contact adhesive, cheers.

what i really like about these videos, besides the great information, is the fact that the mundane bullshit is skipped. a lot of guys would make this an hour long video, showing you in real time literally paint drying.

I absolutely love these videos, they're so informative and I learn from each one. What I personally would love to see is more 'basic' armor pieces. Your helmet, shoulder, and gauntlet were amazing - I would love more. Like a chest piece, boots, etc. Thank you!

I have been watching videos off and on for the past three weeks (I am a beginner in this)
And I must say that you are the best I have seen on here !!!
You explain the processes so clear, concise, straight to the point.
Not cluttered with a bunch of excess talking and nonsense 😁
Your work is awesome and flawless!!
Thank you so much for teaching your techniques.
I am subscribed and definitely a fan

Ted. I have practiced your build a helmet out of foam, 1-2-3 and it was very helpful. I have made steel armor for film before and specialize in leather. I thought I would let you know I have written this up in a 5 day 90 min a session lesson plans. hopefully if kids sign up I will be teaching this for free at a children's art workshop. 12 years of age to 18.. This should be fun. You inspired me to move to foam and not steel. saved me hours, my ears and loads of sweat. every kid i show will have a power point featuring you, and the links will be shared with them. I am spreading your love.

I downloaded a Deadpool mask and was able to construct the mask. I had some problems with the seams being a little too obvious for my tastes. I watched how you fill your seams with Quickdry Silicon. I still wasn't pleased with the results. Then a guy from the U.K. turned me onto Smooth On products. I have to say, The XTC-3D product, took my mask to a whole new level. I did a test run with the product on some scrap foam. It came out beautiful. This stuff fills seams and you can put it on thin with some alcohol or just put it on as thick as you want. It is a semi-rigid Urethane which is designed to go on top of 3D printables. This stuff sands beautifully. I am so very pleased with all of the information you and your compatriots have provided. All I can say is Thank you, Thank You, Thank You.

The thickness of the glue was definitely the problem with my first helmet. The glue ended up pulling apart and making a huge seam because there was simply too much of it. I'm really glad you ended up making a video on this topic specifically.
I would also like to give you a general thank you for being so helpful to all who watch and comment on your videos. You are the best at what you do and seem to be extremely dedicated to your supporters. Keep it up! :)

Question - if the foam soaks up the first layer of contact cement, could you heat-seal the seam edges with the heat gun before glueing to prevent that, and save contact cement? Or does the heat gun distort the clean lines? (Love your videos, by the way...)

Thx so much Ted. I love your videos and was stoked to see this one pop up. My seams have been improving the more and more I craft but this is def gona help. Only wish plasti-dip wasn't so crazy expensive in the U.K.

Nick Wooderson Thank you. You can use rubber latex instead, if it's cheaper.

Amazing work! Thank you for sharing all this knowledge. I have dabbled with come craft foams in the past and made really awful stuff, but with your techniques, the viking costume/armor I am working on is leaps and bounds ahead of anything else I have made. I am subscribed and Ill share pics out once its all done too :)

Dude, you're the best! My custom Batman costume has been made using the techniques you have shared and is only as good as it is because of you. Thank you. I will find a way to share pictures of it with you as soon as it is 100% complete. I also made a full overhead Ninja Turtle mask that I sold on ebay for £70! Again thanks to your lessons.
    Keep up the fantastic work,E.T!
P.s. Have you considered filming an entire costume build from start to finish?
